My landlord owns a construction firm and they only work with the best vendors and use one locksmith exclusively: The Lock Doctor. The owner, Maher, seems like a deeply ethical person and I've met him a couple of times when apartments were being re-keyed or a tenant was locked out. At my landlord's urging, Maher came out to assess whether I needed security enhancements on my apartment door after I received some (cough) mailed "warnings" from an ex-boyfriend. (F.U.AAA) Or how about Getting back home at one in the morning, after a very arduous drive from Disneyland, and having the key break as you're trying to open the front door lock while the rest of the family is sound asleep in the car? I don't know if Maher just happened to be around the corner when I called or if he just drives hella fast, but that dude gets to where he needs to be quick. Yesterday I posted a negative review after not hearing from this service and was upset because it seemed I'd been blown off. That was not the case at all. I'm changing this to a 5-star review because I heard from them today. I don't think it's right to divulge personal information, but what I *can* say is that, not only did they have what sounds like one of the worst days, ever (and I mean EVER), I didn't receive their voicemails until this morning. They had left the message last night - it was displayed on the timestamps - but technology can mess up for all of us and that's what's happened here. Though I had to make other arrangements, I am confident Lock Doctor is an upstanding service and wouldn't hesitate to contact them. They offered to provide me their service at a highly difficult time - for free - to make it right. When a business will put their money on the line at one of the most stressful moments, personally, that speaks volumes about how seriously they want to do a good job for their customers. Well after speaking with their representatives they said that they wouldn't refund me for more then hour waisting my time and broken locker. As I said I would be totally fine if it's real complicated door but this is regular locker for 20$ from Home Depot Probably 125$ more important for them Not recommended this service Honestly he said that I'm rude and won't give me refund also he blocked me First of all tech did not explain me anything about braking bedroom locker and that I suppose to pay for that. To summarize, they got the job done. Nothing special. I was calling around for an emergency locksmith to help my friend, and they were quick to respond and send someone to over immediately. I wish they had a better tracking system for their employees because they were not very good at giving an accurate estimate for when they would be on-site. Maybe that's normal but seriously, this is the era of technology. Plus I left to run some errands and when I returned hours later, the guy was still there. Does it take that long to change locks? I'm inexperienced with calling emergency locksmith services, but I was disappointed by the quality and warmth of service after reading so many stellar reviews on Yelp. Afterwards he said the that the locker needs to be broken Wich is ok if it's complicated main door or similar. Looked online for a Locksmith who could perform programming of a new key to anti-theft module and cut the key to match at the same time and stumbled upon LockDoctor. Maher came by, attempted to program the key for our Jeep. I had a new key from the dealer, but needed a pin code to have it programmed. Called the dealer, they could not help me with a pin code. THE DEALER!!! Maher says, "Let me give it a shot" and proceeded to retrieve a code from Chrysler's online database. After a few unsuccessful tries, he was able to get a the required pin code to program the key!!! I called many other, and many of them don't offer BOTH services. It's either one or the other. Fast service, competitive pricing with quality work...what more could you ask for???Big thanks to Maher for being professional, fast and efficient!!! I lost my car keys and, after turning our home upside down and searching everywhere I could think of, I finally decided to shop around for a car locksmith. After calling around and doing some research I found the Lock Doctor. Base price they quoted me at was $250, which was ~$20 cheaper than all the other places I considered. Unfortunately I didn't catch the name of the guy that helped me, but when he rolled up to my house he was very friendly and fast--like MAYBE 15 minutes, if that. But that's not even the best part! He gave me a second key at a discounted price...and then gave me a third key for free! His kindness literally soothed my aching heart and wallet from having to deal with this crappy situation I'd gotten myself into. So so glad I decided to go with them. The one thing I will mention is that when I called the day before, the gentleman I spoke with quoted me at $225 base...and I know I couldn't have heard wrong because he was on speaker and my boyfriend heard too, and I saved the number in my contacts so I could call back today (as no one was available on a Sunday). Not too big a deal--I'll take 250 over 270+ along with my L. My advice, if you haven't already gleaned it from this review, is to give them a call, because chances are you won't find better prices and service elsewhere! read more

I have called a dozen locksmiths and two dealerships. I was quoted from $185. to $375. (Dealer) I had already bought the blank keys with chips (online) and he was willing to cut and program what I had and didn't try to sell me the a new blank etc. for an extra $100+ Here's the low-down: He's Fair, he's nice, he reasonable, he was fast, he's competent and he's professional. tldr: Only hire Mark/Maher if you'll be there to confirm that he's not overcharging you We were out of town so our neighbor met Maher and helped him access our place. After he was done, Maher called my husband and said he'd been at our house for an hour and twenty minutes but was only billing us for an hour, plus $120 worth of parts. My husband took him at his word and promptly paid him $325. Soon found out from our neighbor that Maher was actually there for only 30 minutes. Via email I asked Maher about the discrepancy and asked him to refund us for half an hour labor. He responded "Let's say I was only there for the 30 mins. The minimum charge is one hour labor. It's not prorated." So $95 to come out, and on top of that a minimum charge of one hour labor at $125/hour, means you'll pay at least $220? And if that is the policy, why the whole story about being there for an hour and twenty minutes but only charging us for an hour? There are a lot of 5 star locksmiths on yelp. Next time I'll find another one. read more
