I first tried a couple other "yelp suggested" locksmiths, they told me that they couldn't help. In desperation, I went to the dealership and had a key cut from my VIN, and bought a new fob. I haven't programmed a fob in a while... since you pushed a button on the PCM, and then held a combo of buttons down on the fob. It's a LOT more complex, today. I contacted B&B to see about getting it scheduled, expecting next week, at the earliest. Instead, they came out yesterday afternoon, less than 5 hours after I initially asked about availability. They were able to program my OE fob, sold me (and programmed) another fob, and sold me and cut (on sight) a second rescue key. The total for my same day service? After tax, tip, fob, key cutting, and programming 2 fobs, my total was 50 less than the dealership charged for just the fob and key. Jamie and Jr. were extremely helpful throughout, providing updates and all the information I inquired about. Both fobs and keys work, I can get to my riding gear and equipment, have my backup vehicle back, and it was incredibly affordable. Thanks y'all! On no level was this a good experience. Like you I found this business after a simple internet search, a choice I wholly regret. I needed replacement keys and fobs for three vehicles and it turned into a two-month headache that turned what should have been a $400 transaction into a $2,800 nightmare. I was trying to avoid going to the dealership but wound up doing that anyway because his "work" caused an electrical short in one of my cars which ended up costing thousands. He claimed he'd give me a refund from the $400 he originally billed me. He never had any intention of doing that. He ghosted me and absolutely would not return messages, which speaks to sketchy business practice and total unprofessionalism. But, hey, let's take a journey, shall we? The first part of our interaction took a week and a half -- and three separate visits -- to complete an original transaction that was described by this guy as a "simple process." He programmed a new fob for one of my vehicles, which rendered the original fob useless. He said synching the old fob and the original fob with the car would be an additional cost. Ouch, but fair enough. I had three in-person visits with him about the other cars, two of which required me driving across town at a time that fit his schedule to avoid the $89 "appearance fee" for having him drive to my place to fix his blatant missteps. Each interaction took roughly an hour and ended with him handing me a keypad to enter a tip. Comical. A tip?!? He was more than an hour late to my first appointment where I had to reach out to him rather than him taking 5 seconds to tell me he was behind. He twice canceled the second visit, once as I left a work function and was in rush-hour traffic within half a mile of his residence. Then he blew me off for nearly two days prior to the third appointment after I'd already paid in full. All he had to do was cut a key and hand it to me, but what I got was this confused look and a shoulder shrug when he shorted out the electrical relays that sent me scrambling to the dealer, who told me this guy's mess was a $2,800 mistake. Do yourself a favor and use someone else -- someone who knows what he's doing, someone who communicates clearly and someone who does what he actually says. Minus 5 stars, times two.
