I had a repairman come by today to evaluate my garage door. It was shaking and rattling a lot while…read morein operation. And one of the cross beams came lose from all the vibration. The door is around 40 years old so I figured it had reached it's end and I was looking at a $2K+ bill for a new one. The repairman took a quick look, then said there's a few missing bolts and the guide wheels are bent and shot. He had all the necessary parts with him and hour later he replaced all the damaged parts and added a couple bolts for additional support. Then he realigned a bent cross beam and re-bolted it. Previous to the repair, opening and closing the door sounded like an earthquake. After the repair, the door runs smooth as silk. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the cost: less than $200!!!!!
