After my grandchildren's last visit they curtly informed me I had a $250 balance due. This is from 16 years ago. At that time my daughter was having quite a bit of extensive work done there. Then they told me I had a $250 bill. I called my insurance company, United Healthcare, and was told the office never filed. Repeatedly. At the time I went back and forth with Plum Creek who said the claim was denied. Again and again United Healthcare said they never filed that claim. Plum Creek never billed physically or said anything until over a decade and a half later. As such I assumed they actually filed with the insurance and went on. Now, after thousands and thousands of dollars spent in their office I was told I had a $250 balance from 16 years ago. This is after multiple general and specialized care visits, root canals, deep cleanings, crowns, and veneers. Now they pop up and tell me there is a 16 year old $250 balance. Then they had the audacity to "discharge" me from their practice as if I would ever return after that level of ineptitude. The office staff is demeaning, crude, and apparently cannot file insurance. This was regular not Medicaid insurance. The staff talked down to me, was the rudest set of individuals I've ever seen in a purportedly professional setting. They are crude, insensitive, and overall unable to do their basest duties. This is again after my family has spent thousands of dollars in their office I'm hit with attitude and contempt. To top it all off I'm told I'm no longer welcome at their practice as if I'd think about returning after that fiasco. Sixteen years later. One is left to wonder where this supposed debt was all these years. I still live at the same address, have brought my family there for years and suddenly whammo! Please be warned the office staff is incompetent, ruder than life, and plain ignorant to come at someone 16 years later over a bill they could not manage to file with an actual insurance company. Keep your family, your wallet, and your credit safe and avoid these ignorant people like the plague. I'm not stopping with Yelp. I will make sure everyone in Lockhart and online knows the level of ignorance, crudeness, and hostility that office has to offer. In addition, I'll be contacting an attorney as they have been holding onto a "debt" for 16 years.

I mentioned hospitalization for pulmonary embolisms over a month ago and she required clearance from the MD before she could clean my teeth. My daughter was a patient at Crescent, so we thought we would try them, and a least get my wife some temporary relief until we could see our regular dentist on Monday. It was decided that the tooth needed to be extracted, and so that was done. The wound was bleeding terribly in the office, but since it was Friday afternoon we were rushed out and given a few guaze pads. Once we got in the car to head home, the wound started bleeding even worse. Since we were still in the parking lot, we went back to the office and tried to get more guaze, since by then my wife was bleeding profusely. Once we finally FOUND someone in the office, they gave us like 3 more guaze pads (generous!) and sent us on our way. (Luckily Wal-mart was close by and I was able to buy a couple packages of guaze). Later that evening, the bleeding had still not stopped so we decided a trip to the ER was in order. We found out there, the stitches done by the dentist were not ample to close the wound (an exposed vessel) and it most likely would have never stopped bleeding. Then, for the icing on the cake, a few weeks later my daughter was harassed (both by phone and in person during an appointment) in regard to an insurance question on OUR account! She is not listed as a billing contact, and is not even on the same insurance policy as my wife and I. Why was our billing information disclosed to a family member when WE had not even been contacted about the issue? (which was easily rectified once we were informed of it (second hand)). Needless to say, we wont be coming back, and will not recommend Crescent Dental to anyone.

The rooms are clean, well lit, and situated with modern equipment. They let you choose what Netflix movie to watch (careful to choose a laughter filled comedy with your mouthful). It was first appointment with this office, so it was extended, but the digital, full mouth scan was useful for ordering a night guard. No gooey mouth-mold for me! The hygienist, dental assistants, and even billing folks were all outgoing and friendly. The dentist was gregarious and thorough, and I feel that they really care. They are one of the very few, if not the only, providers in the area who coordinate with the VA, allowing veterans to receive care without having to drive to Austin. We both saw Dr. Matthew O'Neil, and I almost hesitate to mention his name only because he was so phenomenal and don't want to share. He was kind, professional, and had an excellent bedside manner. He asked thoughtful questions and provided clear, thorough answers to everything I asked. A staff member, either the office manager or benefits coordinator, also met with me and walked me through a detailed cost breakdown on an iPad. She explained what my insurance would cover, what my out-of-pocket costs would be, and gave me the flexibility to prioritize or decline any services. She was incredibly kind and made the entire process feel comfortable and pressure-free. In the end, I chose to move forward with all recommended treatments because the pricing was comparable to other providers in the area, and I felt very confident in Dr. O'Neil's expertise. Today, I had two fillings, three crowns, and a deep cleaning completed under IV sedation, as I have a serious fear of dental procedures a local anesthetic is hit or miss for me. My appointment began within 5-10 minutes of arrival, and so far I've experienced little to no pain. The customer service has been outstanding. I'll be returning in two weeks to have my crowns placed, and based on my experience so far, I feel very reassured about my decision. Highly recommend!

Appointments are really easy to get and they're flexible if you need to cancel. I like that they put Netflix on for you while you wait or are being worked on. It eases some anxiety over someone working in your mouth. I think they work with relatively new hygienists and assistants and I enjoyed the pleasant conversation between my assistant and the doctor yesterday while my teeth were being cleaned. It showed a real camaraderie between them and the excitement of the assistant with all she's learning. The doctor was a little behind but again, having something to watch kept me entertained. They're a great service and I'm glad it's not too far from home.
