Extremely unsatisfied , first of all arrived with out mask In the process broke a screw from my motorcycle gas cap , then stripped the other . He couldn't remove it so I had to remove it by myself with out his help . Then he tried using the same stripped screw to tighten it back but didn't work obviously . Forced another screw in it only half way cause it wouldn't go any further .. then after all this shit still wanted to charge me full price HAAAAAAAA. This place a joke Replying to lock smith 2 u comment . Since I think he disabled comment section First off it was two screw you messed up . And Making it sound like the screws were damaged , when they were perfectly fine until you showed up . Theirs no need to lie bro lol .. All I I have to say is if you were unable to do the job "correctly " as in no broken screws or stripped ones When taking it apart then you should have told me on the phone and no ones time would have been wasted .. of course I wasn't appreciative of your work because you ended up damaging my gas cap screws lol .. and now I have a loose gas cap . Meaning now I have to go out of my way and find screws cause you couldn't carefully remove it when taking it apart . And another thing I never told you I wanted the work to be done free after all that I just didn't want to pay full price anymore . I had my house rekeyed last month and one of cores was installed incorrectly. I can not say for certain that it was Locksmith 2 u that outsourced the job, and Shawn denies having ever spoken to me before today. However, I got their number from my phone records and they were the only company I called that day. When I called last month for the rekey I was told that my number was forwarded to one of their techs who arraigned the appointment with me. I payed $415 to have my house rekeyed. I paid on the tech's phone via on an app called Jobox (similar to square). My invoice only said 'locksmith services' without the name of the company and only referenced the tech's personal cell number (it also had the wrong service address and my name was misspelled). Did the tech do a good job? Other than the one door, yes everything was great. Even the door that he got wrong was a very simple mistake, he forgot to tighten the rear clip that holds the core in place. I could fix it in 5 minutes but out of principal I wanted the tech to come back and fix it. Call me petty but I paid good money for the job so they should fix it; plus on the off chance something was actually damaged I did not want to tamper with it and loose my right to get it fixed by the tech. This is where the story gets strange; I called the number on my receipt and the tech answers saying that he does work for several different companies and I had to call the company that out sourced him to me. Thats when I went to through my phone records and retrieved Locksmith 2 U's number. I called and Shawn (the owner) answered, I explained the situation and asked him to verify if there was an original work order. He said he would come to my house to fix it in about an hour. He shows up while I was watering the back yard so my wife let him in. I did not know that he had denied to her that he had ever been involved with the job . My wife gets me and Shawn asks for my keys then immediately starts working. He says, "the person who installed this lock did a really bad job but don't worry I wont charge very much to fix it". I told him to stop and said " I told you over the phone to verify that you outsourced the job. Why did you come out if you didn't think you had anything to do with the original job?" " I did not have time to go through my records, I get tons of service calls per day," he replied. I told him to stop what he was doing and put everything back the way it was because I was not going to pay for anything. "What do you think I just work for free!", he yelled with his arms in the air threateningly. "Put everything back and leave please", I said. He refused because it was simple to fix and he had already started. I insisted and he again refused but said he wouldn't charge me. He fixed it and I insisted on paying so he wrote me an invoice for $20. I don't trust him and he was at my house so he knows I have cheap quickset locks which can easily be picked. Heck, I can pick them and I am terrible at picking locks. I called back and asked him to undo the repair. He was confused as anyone would be, but I explained that if he was so adamant that he had nothing to do with the original job then I want the tech who I paid to do the original job to fix it out of principal. He agreed but only for an additional $20. I agreed and at least he was upfront unlike the first time. When he arrived, I asked him how much he would charge to pick the lock. He got upset an yelled "what do you want me to do?" I said, "I want you to pick the lock and then, I want to to undo the original repair, I will pay your normal rate for single pin picking plus the original $20." Why did I do that? I was testing his honesty: many unreputable locksmiths will say that a low security lock is 'unpickable' and must be drilled in order to charge to rekey a home. Also if he claimed that he could not pick it then, I would be more suspicious that he would later try to break in, for I know that the lock is easily pickable. He refused my business and stormed off. Thats the story. Did I overreact? Probably. Do I owe Shawn an apology for my lack of trust and immaturity? Yes, two wrongs don't make a right. I am sorry Shawn. That said, he should not have come to my house in the first place if he truly believed he had nothing to do with the original call or he should have given advance notice of his intension to charge for a service call. He also should have honored my original request to leave the door as it was and not insist on fixing it without my consent. Equally, one has to recognize how strange it is that I book an appointment with him last month, and someone he was never heard of before shows up to do the job and leaves a sketchy invoice. Please look at my suspicion from that context when you judge how bad of customer I was today. My gut tells me that something untoward happened so I gave you my story in its full context so you can judge for yourself. PS He didn't ware a mask. read more
