Loco Moco one of our favorite plate lunch restaurants. They make one of the best Teriyaki Pork on Oahu. They are running a "Special " in the Mid Week Newspaper. Buy a Regular plate lunch and get a Free plate lunch (Choices are Chicken Katsu, Teriyaki Chicken, Mochiko Chicken, or Garlic Chicken for the free plate). Great deal! They were very busy with some large catering orders but did a great job taking care of their walk in customers. Highly recommended

Bbq mixed BBQ Mix Plate

I ordered for delivery and that is always a lil nerve wracking cause u never know what ur going to get. I was very pleasantly surprised when my food got here. I ordered the chicken katsu to share with my mom and my dad got the bbq mixed plate. When I opened the container I was like woah!! Nice portions!!! I took a bite of my katsu (side order of curry) and I was like dang!! One of the best chicken katsu I've had! Also the curry was incredible! Usually there is a strong "bite"to the curry and this was so mild and creamy with a hint of sweetness on the back end. Thank you loco moco!! U have outdone yourself!! Chefs kiss!!

Never thought you could make French fries dry! But my over cooked fries! Never ordering this again!

Mini Chicken Katsukatsu

Props to Loco Moco for thriving all these years. When Kapolei had practically nothing 30-years ago, this was the go to place. This location had been our family caterer for the fist 5-years, 1995-2000 and beyond. I was craving a chicken katsu plate earlier in the day and since I needed to do some grocery shopping, so I decided to come here. Staff is very friendly. Price is good. Not too long after, my mini plate arrived. States off with the Mac salad and it was tasty, while the chicken katsu satisfied the craving. It's a tiny location with a few 4-seater tables available. Plenty of people walking in to take out while a few of us stayed to dine in. While waiting for dinner, I saw one of the staff members wrapping up a small platter for take out and it reminded me of when we would order our family take out here. Brought back fond memories. I loved the lemon chicken here. Next potluck, I'll pickup from here.

Loco Moco- All white rice, 2 over easy eggs, 2 beef patties covered in gravy. Beef patties were alittle tough.

My first time back in 2 years since since they opened under new management and they've improved ALOT. The Buy-one-get-one plate lunch coupon from the midweek paper is what got me in and I'm glad I used/turned it in. The plate lunches was in large portions (even the mini bbq chicken was huge), tasted pretty good (just the beef patties in the Loco Moco were alittle tough) and the prices were fair. The restaurant was clean. Plenty of free parking. Easy phone ordering and take out. Cashier was nice. Although I miss the kapolei original I'm glad I gave the new Loco Moco a second chance.

Kalbi and chicken katsu combo
Ana C.

I had to work late tonight and didn't want to go home and cook so I decided to get something on the way home. I stopped in at Loco Moro and got a kalbi and chicken Katsu combo with mac salad and white rice. The chicken katsu was nice and crispy. The kalbi was seasoned well. However the mac salad was plain and had no seasoning whatsoever. Other than that I was satisfied with the meal.

Came here for quick Hawaiian bite yo eat. Place is cute and clean. I ordered grilled garlic ahi, my sister got the chicken katsu curry and we shared the shrimp salad. Food took a bit to come out. Ahi was ok but pretty plain and my sister said the katsu is good and serving size was a big generous! Overall, good place to come for quick meal!

Wanted a musubi between errands and tastes like a simple, home-cooked one! :) This restaurant looked like a popular place for big orders and I'd like to try their other food too

First time this Loco Moco location. In general most of these locations are pretty decent. Ordered the Eggplant Stirfry with Chicken. Tasted ok but nothing memorable. The teriyaki sauce was very sweet. The chicken, vegetables and eggplant on par with my expectations for this kind of place. The Mac salad however was bland. Portioning was just average. Beautiful large Hawaiian mural on wall and nostalgic photos. Lots of seating. Seems pretty clean. Service was good. Cashier greeted me, said Thank you after paying, asked me if I wanted my soda now. Brought my takeout order to me while I sat waiting on one of the tables. If the Mac salad was good, I'd give it another star. Not sure if I'd return.

Mochiko Chicken Regular Plate Lunch

We found a BOGO free plate lunch deal for Loco Moco Drive Inn in Midweek and couldn't resist clipping it. We got the Pork Lau Lau and Mochiko Chicken Regular Plate. Both were decent plate lunches, and the BOGO deal made it even better. The Pork Lau Lau had the right amount of pork and salt. Sometimes other places make it too salty, but this one was just right and cooked perfectly. The Mochiko Chicken was a little overcooked, but still good. Each regular plate came with a regular mac salad and 2 cups of rice. Nothing fancy, but it worked. Overall, decent food and a great deal. We'll definitely be back!

I'm hoping the Mochiko Chicken is da bomb

I stopped by Loco Moco- Kapolei on my way home. I was craving Mochiko Chicken. It's like a hit or miss. It's either good or not good. I ordered a special combo plate. The nice guy said that it was cheaper than purchasing two plates. I ordered the sweet and sour Spareribs with white rice & Mac Salad for Hubby. I got the Mochiko Chicken on the side for me. They cook it while you wait. The restaurant is small but spacious enough that you some feel crowded. When the server brought me my order, it smelled sooooo good. I couldn't wait. I immediately grabbed a piece of chicken to eat right then. Seasoned perfectly, hot as ever. Just delicious. I truly believed that I had eaten all my Mochiko chicken on my drive home to the North Shore. There was 1 piece left for Zeus. Much to say, I will go back to order from Loco Moco-Kapolei again real soon.

This little gem is hidden down a side road in front of residence inn, they might setup elsewhere when they are not here, IDK. If you are staying at the residence inn you will definitely know when they are setup as the hotel hallways will smell heavenly. My only complaint would be is the suffering you will endure if you have eaten elsewhere and then walk into the heavenly smelling hotel Haha. Thanks so much!

She answered all my questions as it was our first time going there. She even remembered talking to my husband yesterday when he called to asked if they're open. We ordered 4 chicken inasal plates, pork bbq sticks and isaw (adobo pork intestines), cassava flan and latik. Chicken inasal- was so tasty and cooked perfectly. The jasmine rice with the chicken oil and fried garlic was very good. Isaw- wow! I was a little skeptical ordering it due to bad experience from other places. I'm so glad I listened to their first customer (their neighbor). The isaw didn't have any of the gamey smell and taste, it was so good that even my daughter ate it. Pork bbq stick- tender, juicy and very tasty! Cassava Flan- tasty and not overly sweet. Perfect dessert to end a very good meal. Oh and btw, I told my Japanese/Filipino son that the best way to eat this Filipino food is by eating using our hands lol! We ate it this way and he said it's one of the best meals he ever had. Eating with his hands was an experience for him. Thank you Sayuri/Kenjiro team. You've earned another loyal customer. We'll be back and make sure to spread the word to our friends and family!

Very positive, upbeat, and attentive. She has great servers intuition. For example, i was going on a soda fast and she could tell that I didn't really care for the lemonade. She was quick to help me find another option. I ended up going for just a plain green tea as their tap/soda machine wasn't operating properly. Second time, same issue with soda machine, but I did get to have the Li Hing Lilikoi Daiquiri that did not disappoint! I will be back for this! I do wish they fix their soda machine though. The food is always why I come again and again. The main things to highlight would be... Umami Scallion Rice, Shio Negi Tofu, Garlic Shio Cabbage. Yaki-Shabu beef, toro beef, umakara Ribeyes are definitely a must too! Scallion rice is definitely underrated, imagine scallions mixed with rice and a light semi-sweet and savory sauced flavored rice! I could eat like two and be good, but you wouldn't want to stop thefe. The negi means green onions so that with tofu... what can go wrong? I do like all the marinated meats and such! I do really enjoy the Umakara as it's rich deep flavor really brings an umami punch as well! I definitely want to come back already. Overall, a great place to come after work and enjoy some great service from Rayce. Everyone else there is super nice. The bartender, ciara or ciera? Drinks were really good too! Aside from the soda machine being down, I have noticed sometimes the menus aren't the cleanest. But, as a whole, I would definitely not let that stop me from coming!
