Another FABULOUS TACO TUESDAY. Today we had James and seriously, best service I've ever had here. It was my parents first time here and it was funny to watch as they tried to figure out picking their tacos. James was so happy and excited to walk them through it. My favorite is always the crunchy tacos- particularly the barbacoa. You can pick as many as you'd like, or as little. So cool you can pick one of each if you want. Great time at Loco Patron! I especially love how accommodating they were to the two young rugrats we had running around. We came on a sunday afternoon and the patio was the perfect kid-friendly spot! They had a large turf area for kids to run around on and cornhole to play. To drink I ordered the skinny prickly pear margarita which is made of blended prickly pear, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, club soda, and tequila. It was light, fresh, and had a little bit of a kick which I love. I split an order of tacos with a friend and it was the perfect late lunch/early dinner. As a Packers fan, this place was great to spend time at with likeminded folks in the area. Service was friendly, timely, and very helpful in welcoming us new comers in. This place is set up for sports - a ton of TVs and a huge big screen with projection viewing, pretty great - also looks like it has a nice outdoor seating area. Food and drinks were all good, really nice happy hour list of items that were affordable and tasty. Only complaint/concern was a lady that picked up a towel from the ground and proceeded to use it to wipe down the table next to us where people were about to be seated - chalk it up to a brain fart but yikes on that one. I have had mixed results at Loco. When I go with my boomer Parents and sit at a booth, the service is great. Once I went with a date and sat at the bar, the bimbo bartender was awful. This is one of our go-to places when we're in the neighborhood to do some shopping or training nearby -- especially when we have our puppy with us. First of all, after checking that it was a place where our puppy could join us, our server brought a dish of cold water for our little hound. Score 2 points... the crowd goes wild. We had nachos for an appetizer and a variety of dishes which we shared. Excellent food. Great margs, and very cold barley pops for the two so inclined. Service was excellent, and our server actually checked that our doggo had enough water (hot day, not broiling... and we were seated outside under cover, out of the sun.). Prices are very good. Our server won our respect with how our dog was treated, but the service was attentive without interruptions or other annoying behavior, as well. About the only thing that detracted from the afternoon was the televisions blaring... but as the volume was turned down eventually, it was only a momentary annoyance -- though not for those enjoying the game. (Hey... it's a sports bar. I get it. We accepted that before we sat down, so I'm not complaining. Yanno?) Since then, we've returned numerous times... it's one of two favorite restaurants on Northsight and as we're down here frequently, it's a coin toss who gets our patronage. I have intended to write a review but, until now, failed to do so. We've found this a great place for an afternoon or an evening. The summer heat is the only downside, but it's Phoenix.,, and we like coming here. Give them a try. Service was great! I just wasn't a huge fan of what I ordered. The coconut shrimp tacos weren't the best. The shrimp were cooked well and very good, but the tomatoes / pico with the coconut shavings and pineapple didn't go well together. Beans and coleslaw were good. Ordered micheladas and they were... not good. They had ice in them but it was almost all the way melted, and tasted like watered down beer with the tiniest hint of tomato. Overall I don't think I would be back, but did have a lot of seating and TVs. read more

Loco is a big place and has a cool ambiance. Inside and outside seating. Staff are friendly and helpful and very patient. Service from the kitchen was a little slow the evening we visited. I had a Spicy Loco margarita and a Ghost loco margarita, surprisingly the Spicy was spicier than the ghost. Birria tacos are the bomb. The baked Elote was flavorful with a little kick. In from Chicago, first time at Loco today, and I wasn't disappointed. Food and service were both good. The sun was out so we decided to sit outside. They had a very nice setup with sun cover and comfy seating. They have a lot of different taco options (see menu below). I opted for the crunchy tacos, which won some city wide award. I wouldn't recommend them. I prefer a regular soft shell taco. The tacos themselves were good. I had the pork tacos and the meat was delicious. A little more of a gourmet style than I prefer. But my wife and college age son both enjoyed theirs. Food was good not great, but it had a nice vibe. I would probably give a 3.5, rounded up for the nice weather : ) Worth checking out. read more

My buddy and were hungry for a traditional plate of tacos, rice and beans so we tried Loco Patron. I do not write reviews but we did not have the best experience at the Northsight location. Sat at bar, female bartender was less than enthusiastic we were there but what really was a bummer was the food. Ordered off the main menu dreaming of your traditional Mexican plate full of food. What we got instead were two really small tacos and two tiny little bowls of rice and beans, something you'd get during Happy Hour. I live near Loco Brewery but I admit, I had forgotten they were there. I did a quick Yelp search for Mexican and it appeared, so my boyfriend and I checked it out. The patio is extensive. It was a little humid outside, so we opted to eat inside. The tables are well spaced out for social distancing and the booths had plastic shields between them, which I appreciated. There were lots of tv's around the restaurant, for those interested in sports. I enjoyed the music soundtrack that they were playing. It was set at just the right volume, so we could still converse without having to yell over the music. Our server, James, was fantastic. He was friendly and welcoming and answered all of our questions. The menu is large and he gave great recommendations. You get one free serving of chips and salsa before your meal. Refills are $2.00. I'm glad we didn't order a refill because our meal portions were quite large. Everything was delicious and flavorful. My boyfriend loved his chicken fajita bowl and my cheese enchiladas were top-notch. We are looking forward to a return visit soon. read more

We stopped in to watch the football game and have a few beers. First time here so the flights are my go to- all the beers were good and full of flavor. I was surprised actually. The bar on the patio was more busy than inside so we did sit indoors. The patio was hopping though. We had the Elote for an appetizer, delicious!! Went here to watch the NFL playoffs Saturday night. There was a private function in the outdoor space and we had our dog with us, so we asked if we could sit in the kids outdoor area that was gated off and turfed. They agreed and just said we would have to go to the bar to get food and drinks, but brought us menus. It turned out to be awesome aside from there being no heaters. My dog could run around and play without having to worry about him getting into trouble. We had a couple beers and I got the breakfast burrito and my wife the southwest chicken wrap. Both were good, but the southwest chicken wrap was the winner. We had a solid experience and will probably try and go back for the games this weekend. read more

Service was attentive but not smothering. We penciled in our taco choices and got our hunger game on. We ordered a mix of crunchy and soft tacos. Fish tacos were battered to perfection, with picked red onions and just a hint of spice. Got some avocado and sour cream toppings cause I worked hard for these tacos. Carnitas were next, soft shell flour power for my palates delight. Carnitas win the battle of my bulge. Perfectly textured and again, just the right amount of zip. The Christmas lights and warm atmosphere was what pulled us in for dinner. the atmosphere and vibe were great, our server was wonderful. they handed out free samples of beer and gave us free beer glasses. Big portions for food. Quick service for how busy they were. give it 6/10 for taste. they lost some stars when it came down to the bill. There was 4 of us. One person paid the check and we had put down cash also for the tip, last minute we checked the bill because it seemed higher than we thought (135$)... when we looked there was a "large party 20% gratuity added on".... we of course wouldve left that anyway but we just felt that was very sneaky and unnecessary for a party of 4. read more
