Always amazing breakfast options! I got the Whopping Stupid Sandwich with Bacon & Sausage and my nibling had Your Wife over hash browns. Both phenomenal choices!!

Little Cheerful always has a great vibe. Workers are friendly and I've been there with loud music playing and them singing along. The food quality is standard for a cafe and it's one of those unique spots I bring new people in town. Everything has that intentional touch of a curated spot that feels timeless and inviting. Busy spot on the weekends so brace for a bit of a wait during peak hours.

This cafe came as a recommendation from friends. We arrived early enough to avoid a wait for a party of five. The service was friendly and efficient. Pro-tip: get the biscuit. They are homemade, oh so fluffy & delicious. I ordered the ABTJ omelette. The highlight was the biscuit. I could have eaten a few more. Light buttery goodness. The table had plenty condiments, including a great jam option. The omelette was hearty, piping hot and filling. Lots of great breakfast options, served as an omelette, skillet or over hashbrowns. A great downtown spot to check out!

This is my all time favorite breakfast place. We have gone here countless times and are always incredibly satisfied. Everything is made with quality ingredients and good portions. The biggest plus is everyone that works here is so kind, you can tell they enjoy their job.

Amazing little place for brunch! It gets busy and it's a small space, so get there early! Super food and service!!

This place has been banging out a kick butt breakfast from when I was in school at Western , we'll say a long time ago..... It was even better than I remember. Our group enjoyed an R-rated pancake as an appetizer, hilarious!! We slit the biscuits and gravy( scratch gravy folks, not packaged bs) and a Bacon and Cheese skillet. Great stuff! Sadly we weren't on top of it with pics so got a shot of the aftermath and a couple "colorful" atmosphere shots! It's a cozy little diner as the name implies and had to wait a bit. They text you so you can explore downtown while you wait, so didn't think it was bad at all.

My sister and I stopped in for breakfast on our way to Seattle. The atmosphere was a bit different than I'm used to but it was an overall fun vibe. I didn't catch our servers name but she was very pleasant I ordered the California skillet and it was delicious. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. My sister had the pork verde skillet and it was just a bit on the spicy side but not overly. At least half the skillet was pork, there was almost too much

First visit was okay; second was terrible. For our second…read morevisit there were six of us and a dog. The dog wasn't allowed inside (obviously), so my wife sat at a table while I waited for food. She was told to leave because you must order before sitting. She walked around the block while we waited in line for 25 minutes. At the till they asked our party size (6) and said groups of six incur a 20% auto-gratuity. I said we were four separate groups and wanted to pay separately. They insisted we pay together with the auto-gratuity. Auto-gratuity is fine, but six is small for that, especially when they don't take table orders. You wait in line, they drop off food, yet you can't sit until everyone has ordered. As Canadians we'd sort payments later. They said "we're a small business," and the till worker gave far too much attitude for a take-out coffee shop with auto-gratuity and assigned seating. We finally agreed to pay together. They checked for an outside table. Two guys sat at a "for three or more" table with no one enforcing the rule. The worker returned and said no tables were available. I said we'd take it to go. We got our coffee and left feeling negative. Our friends also ordered to-go sandwiches, and were told it would be a 40 minute wait. While waiting they sat down. When it was ready the server held their food hostage until they stood up to leave (can't sit at a table for a to go order). Cute atmosphere, terrible everything else. Don't expect a pleasant experience.

We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess at a table in DT Fairhaven, and our server was the bartender. After being seated, we waited a long time without anyone taking our order. We eventually asked if we had a server and were told it was him, with no apology or explanation. We ordered drinks and food, but after more than 40 minutes, we noticed two tables seated after us had already been served, finished eating, and were leaving. At that point, we asked for the check and said we would not be staying. About 15 minutes later, the server returned with our food instead of the check. We declined the meal and sent it back. He then asked if we wanted it boxed to go, which we also declined. His reaction suggested frustration rather than understanding. We never got to try the food, so we can't comment on it. The service, however, was well below expectations given the restaurant's reputation. This was lunch on July 15, 2026. We may try The Black Cat again in the future, hoping this was just an off day.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a young boy, attending special family dinners or just going to get pizza after soccer practice. Now well into adulthood I still find myself coming here with my wife for an excellent dining experience, any time or day of the week. This week we decided to go in for brunch, and I couldn't think of a better place to spend a dreary Washington morning. When you walk into this cozy little restaurant the smells of fresh breads and fried potatoes invite you into an elevated breakfast experience. Our hostess sat us down at a table almost immediately with the same friendly smile and welcoming attitude that I have come to expect from the staff at the fork. After sitting down and sipping of fresh squeezed orange juice we ordered two of our favorite breakfast plates. Chicken Fried Steak, and Corned Beef Hash. The Corned Beef Hash consisted two poached eggs sitting on a heaping pile of shredded corned beef that was both crispy and tender. Typically this dish is served with peppers and onions, but on this trip my wife opted out and the chef was happy to oblige our request. I can say from prior experiences that the peppers and onions are a fantastic addition to this mix. I went with the Chicken fried steak. A classic breakfast that requires a large appetite to face on your own! The cube steak was breaded and fried with the traditional seasonings, then covered in a house made gravy that was so rich and flavorful I couldn't put my fork down. I ordered mine with over medium eggs that were cooked perfectly, something that other kitchens can rarely get right. If you are a fan of Chicken Fried Steak then you must try this one! Both of our plates came with a large portion of golden brown home fries, and a fluffy biscuit served with honey butter and a peach preserve. Our server was extremely nice and very attentive. Although the restaurant was fairly busy she made sure our every need was taken care of :) I once again left the fork feeling full, and extremely satisfied. If the doors to this amazing restaurant are open, I will definitely be coming back again and again.
