They were a great spot up until about the time they renovated the inside. Service has gone downhill significantly. Not only are the new workers slower, but they don't seem to know how to make decent food. I've had an iced coffee which was like warm with 3 small ice cubes, the Fairway wrap which was missing lettuce and had two small slices of roast beef (it was primarily bread the size of a taquito) and most recently a bagel with cream cheese that had basically basically no cream cheese whatsoever. The only place that serves something by 5:30 am. Got bagels and spread tea and coffee for those very early commuters. It's enough to tie me over to the next meal. When I was in high school, before I was senior and allowed to leave class, I would sneak out and come here for a half iced tea/half lemonade in one of those big styrofoam cups, chips, junk food, sammies, coffee... everything you get from a deli. They knew us by name, would let us loiter out front (I mean, we're in locust valley, its not like we're running a corner Boyz in Da Hood style), eat pizza there - it was a lunch and breakfast spot, a meeting place AND they had a pay phone. Its not the millon dollar deli, thats across the street - and while they do have a giant selection of fancy stuff there - its called the million dollar deli for a reason - I shouldn't have to really break that down for you. Don't correct your customers if they don't know what something is, there is no need to speak to people as if you're better than or a superior. I'm bilingual and don't need to go into a store to be corrected or made feel some type of way because I don't know what something is called. It not what you say, but how you say it! The Million Dollar Deli! I love this place. They have an excellent cold drink selection. This is the first thing i was impressed with. Plenty of really great organic choices. The first, and actually only sandwich I've had here so far (because its so good, I don't want anything else) is the veggie (something). It's got quinoa, hummus, avocado, cucumber...it's amazing. It's healthy, but far from boring! It's a little in the pricey side, but well worth it. Their coffee station is first class and always fresh. They have a lot of protein bars and great snacks, as well. By the counter they have some baked goods...all made fresh in-house. The staff here is very friendly! After a long night out my friends and I decided to stop by and get breakfast. Two people arrived after us and was helped before my friend. Completely ignored her existence. They had an attitude like we were young girls and they couldn't be bothered. The Hispanic man behind the counter said "niña" to my Hispanic friend, which means little girl. Don't waste your time here. The place beautiful with its renovations but one of their staff is terrible. The short older gentlemen accused me of not giving him money when in fact it was the first thing I did. If you can't even remember that I gave you a ten then said I'll get a quarter for the change why are you working the register? You wouldn't open the drawer if I hadn't given you money, right? Please save yourself the hassle and drive down the street to the Million Dollar Deli, the food is only a little more expensive but it's definitely work it to avoid the bland food here. This is by far the best deli on Long Island. From the minute you walk in the door you, they make you feel welcome. After the first time you go there, everyone knows your name. you guys are confusing 2 delis. the million dollar deli is by the rug store and Brittons hardware. it is also on the same side of forest avenue as the boys and girls club. the LV Deli is on the opposite side of forest avenue, right next to the LV pizzeria and chocolicious and Maryanns Dance Studio.
