Me, It's National Bacon Day and I was told Parkway Deli has the best B.E.C. (Bacon-Egg-Cheese on a roll) on Long Island. I pull up to the deli like a rock star. All the servers are masked up. I tell the counter person B-E-C with S-P-K. Please, please make the scrambled eggs soft. A few minutes later, he hands me my breakfast and I'm on my way. No coffee by the way, how do you serve breakfast without a free cuppa kawfee?? All is forgiven when I open up the wrapping. Nice bacon ratio with gently scrambled eggs on a nice hard deli roll. One of my favorite local deli's. I go here for their amazing shrimp salad. The shrimp are cooked perfectly, plump, & juicy. They have great veggie tuna, hero's, sandwiches and freshly cooked hot food daily. Lines can get a little long and space is narrow inside but it's worth the wait. I used to love coming to parkway, they made the best egg sandwiches. The last 3 times I've been there has been a problem with my order- they hung up on me when I called, this last time, I called in an order and they had to make it on the spot because no one made it or they lost it. They used to be very friendly and apologetic for when things like this happen and now it's like they don't care. The short: this is a quintessential LI Deli-- but higher quality food. The longer: we popped in here on a drive back to NYC, and were shocked by how crazy crowded it was on 12PM on a Wednesday. Service was a little slow, but the sammys were on point. I had a whole wheat wrap w honey maple turkey, lettuce & light mayo. I way appreciated that he actually went light on the mayo. It all started here in my high school years when I was a wee kinder and would come to Parkway for a medium ice tea wrapped in plastic and a Godfather sandwich. As the years progressed I upgraded to coffee and sandwich specials with crazy combinations of ingredients. Today (or yesterday when I went) it was all about the Parkway Mix and a #5 (bacon and egg on a roll). Parkway Deli is small and thin and 95% of the time there will be a line of people, possibly almost out the door. This could be a turn off to some, but the employees/service keeps it going better than Lucille Ball at a candy factory. If you just want a drink, you'll be in and out in no time. If you want a sandwich, trust me when I say it's worth waiting the 5-10 extra minutes for them to churn it out. My items of choice were a small Parkway Mix (medium is a safe size for a full day, large is consumed at your own risk) and that #5 breakfast sandwich. The mix is an iced variety and the sugar in it will probably help me develop diabetes one day, but the combination of flavors (possibly French vanilla and some others) makes it a dangerously addictive item. The sandwich is basically cooked to order, but without saying much they fry the eggs perfectly accompanied by thick and crunchy bacon. Before you could say "abracadabra" my breakfast vanished into my belly. Overall, if you've never been to Parkway Deli, know that you might wait a few minutes for your food and drink, but those minutes are worth every bite and sip each time you return (and of course I'll be back). read more

This one star is because the owner NEVER has mask on when I am in there. Inside at the counter, going back and forth from the front to back, and inside by the back door - never a mask. It is extremely thoughtless and inconsiderate to his staff and the customers. Since I keep seeing him, clearly my convictions are not that strong since I keep going back. The real draw here is the coffee, which is the only reason I go and it's also the closest deli. For the deli itself I'd give it three stars. The infamous Parkway Mix is a sight for sleepy eyes. At a massive 44oz, there is probably enough caffeine in it to give a human enough of a jolt to lift a double-parked Mercedes Benz out of the way of the front door. Absolutely delicious, perfectly made as if it were crafted by sweet baby angels. The service is fast, very polite (even if their clientele is not the kindest folk). Food is very fresh, every salad in the case is immaculately cared for and presented, hot food platters are wonderful, not breakfast sandwiches are not to be missed. Solid. Love this deli. Recently moved farther out east, but still find myself coming here whenever I can. Steve makes the best coffee, all the people working there make the sandwiches really well. My favorite would be the BLT with spicy mayo. I'm not a big fan of iced coffee but their parkway mix is pretty delicious. They're usually pretty busy, but even at its busiest I've never waited more than ten mins for a freshly made sandwich. That's pretty good if you ask me. read more

Just started working in the area and looked up a local breakfast/deli to go to for a late breakfast. I brought $10 with me. When I arrived there was no parking so I parked on the street.Place is like your regular deli; small, lots of options. There are all different menus hanging up around the place. There were 2 people ahead of me when I walked in but went very quickly. I ordered an egg white omelette with turkey and cheese with a side of homefries. The total was almost $9. I didn't even get offered toast or coffee. I definitely think this is high for just eggs and potatoes. I didn't even get a drink because I didn't have enough. I read the reviews about the iced coffee that I really wanted to try too :(. But if I got a drink my breakfast would have been almost $12-$13, that's crazy! While leaving I saw quickly on one of the boards up that some breakfast box came with eggs, meat, homefries, toast + juice was $6.99 so I think the guy definitely overcharged me too. Food was good though. Homefries are basically just diced potatoes with grilled onions. Tasty, but nothing crazy. Omelette had lots of turkey & cheese. Maybe I will come back because it is local but the price is the only negative- maybe I'll question it next time. read more

I don't think I've ever been addicted to a deli as I am with Parkway. The staff is so friendly, fast, and always have recommendations. They get to know you on a name basis and are always nice enough to catch up and see how you're doing. They always put a smile on my face each morning. Coffee lovers MUST try their Parkway Mix Iced Coffee. I don't know what their secret ingredients are, but you'll fall in love with the sweet, refreshing, vanilla mix with each sip. My sister is a HUGE fan of their sandwiches, but since I have a gluten allergy, I usually order a a small platter of eggs with American cheese and bacon. Parkway Deli must be known for their GIGANTIC iced coffee drinks. Their small is the size of a medium or a large at most other delis, and their large is the size of the Big Gulp you find at malls. And, it's not for soda, but for coffee, which is a whole lotta caffeine. They also wrap the giant (lidded) styrofoam cup with plastic wrap so you get absolutely no spillage, which I totally appreciate (you poke your straw into the lid through the plastic). In high school, this place was popular for their signature coffee drink, which is a whole lotta sugar, a whole lotta half &half, and a bit of french vanilla coffee, which is quite capable of providing the ultimate caffeine + sugar buzz, I can assure you. Parkway's got a neighborhood feel on an island dominated by superchains, and it helps that the same people have been working there for years. They have made-to-order sandwiches, a selection of meat and pasta-oriented deli foods, and breakfast sandwiches. Their Hungry Man Hero is a classic, not to be taken lightly, and only for those who think their cholesterol levels can handle it. Great old school Long Island deli. I get my usual one scrambled egg with sausage, extra cheese and ketchup here about once a week. It's always served quickly in a nice soft poppy roll. The guys who work the counter keep the place clean and move The sometimes sizable line was very efficiently. They have a bunch of chips and snacks also, and really good fresh coffee. I'd like to pop in for lunch but I'm not usually in the area for lunch time. Best deli in the area by far. Worth a quick hop off the LIE/ Northern State. Car parking is available And the parking lot across the street in the shopping center or Waze is full of work trucks that park there and come across the street to the deli. Living in walking distance from this place has made this place my go to and for good reason. A friendly, family owned deli. There is always a line at all times of the day but it goes quick, they open early around 6am and close around 4pm. Small parking lot but you can also park in the DD lot across the street and there is street parking as well. Iced Coffee - get the parkway mix! You can ask for less sugar if you don't like your coffee too sweet. The French Vanilla and Hazelnut flavors are delicious as well, the size different between a small and medium is massive, would opt for the medium to get more for your money. Breakfast - from platters to bagels to muffins to breakfast sandwiches, you name it they probably have it. Their breakfast sandwiches are the best - sausage, two eggs and cheese on a roll with black pepper and ketchup. I love how the roll is thin and the ratio of bread to meat/egg/cheese is just right. Chicken cutlet, lettuce, tomato, red onion on a roll with russian dressing - highly recommend this sandwich. I forget if I made this up on my own or it's listed under their sandwich menu but its a winning combo. This is a usual breakfast pick up for my family and friends. We always get the parkway mix - caramel (iced coffee) and the bacon egg and cheese. The service is pretty quick (always so shocked how well they remember our orders!) and friendly. I think the price is really cheap for a bagel and iced coffee that surpasses any of your regular neighborhood Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks franchises. read more
