Old Roslyn is an amazing spot to be in. Lots of history around you and plenty of restaurants in this area. I found 'Delicacies Gourmet' completely by accident and... I was looking for a Italian shop where I could get a slice. It had been a while since I was in that area and 'think' Delicacies took over that spot. There is ample searting here too and I think more people were taking out food than sitting We were well greeted as we walked in to the "Sushi Section," and walked through the gateway in to the main deli area. The store is long and narrow with plenty of stations of foods. Honestly, there was some good looking food here. I was with my friend who ordered a simple turkey sandwich while I wound up with just a bagel and cream cheese. It was almost sinful looking at all the great food around us. The team here is wonderful and everyone is clearly focused on their customer's experience. Looking forward to going back soon and trying some of their delicious looking food. read more

This long narrow deli is in what I assume is "downtown" Roslyn, which is about 2 blocks of shops and eateries. I needed a quick snack so I dropped in for a NY Bagel, toasted with butter. I wasn't sure where/what to order as it was kinda not organized very well, so I walked to the register in the back of the store and ordered. There was a bit of a wait and the place is just not set up for standing near the counter waiting for your bagel. The bagel was excellent (as it should be in NY) and I'd probably stop in again if I was staying nearby. read more

This place was walking distance from my hotel so I figured I would try it. Located in the quaint downtown Roslyn, it's a great quick stop. You order at the counter from any type of meat, bread and fixens you want and they make your sandwich for you! There is also a huge selection of chips ( all brands, drinks and desserts! Some of the desserts are made in house. Price is pretty good considering it's located in Long Island. Parking is decent with ample street parking and a paid lot near by. read more

Just wanted to leave some love, this place doesn't deserve such a low rating! This was the one time I didn't check the Yelp reviews first and I was glad I didn't, had a great lunch here. The pesto mac salad the chunks of green pepper with such a refreshing take on your standard macaroni salad. The fried chicken cutlet wraps are bomb, tender chicken with fresh ingredients. I love the egg salad wrap with bacon lettuce and tomato, it feels healthy haha! Putting salad next to anything makes it healthy right? Service is super friendly, there's plenty of seating inside. And I also love that they have a counter where you can get acai bowls. read more

We have been in several times since our daughter's gymnastics school is just around the corner. Each time I have visited, the staff and service has been very good. Sandwiches have been fresh and made exactly as ordered. Coffee is delicious as well.A very good staple for the town of Roslyn. read more

If you want excellent food and service don't look any further. I've been having parties as long as I can remember. I've ordered from Uncle Gusseppis, Ivorini, Salapinos. I used to do all the cooking myself but couldn't enjoy my company because I was always in the kitchen. I used Delicacies Gourmet on New Year's Day. First of all, they deliver your food hot and supply sternos and trays. They set everything up. I ordered 6 trays which came in a thermal container. The food was delicious. Everyone at the party said how good the food was. This is my new caterer. They definitely care about their menu, clients and presentation. Give them a try you will not be disappointed. read more

A fan favorite at the office! I work a few minutes away, and we often order from/drive to delicacies for lunch. Even during the lunch rush, they're a well oiled machine that gets everyone's orders out quickly. I have been there twice, both times I had a hamburger. I ordered, medium burger each time which I never received. The first time it was well done and the second time it was rare. If you order a burger with cheese, it will cost you $3 to $4 more. read more

I had Delicacies Gourmet in Roslyn cater a small work mixer I hosted last night and everything was outstanding! Everything was super fresh! A separate fruit and veggie platter, shrimp cocktail and pigs in a blanket were succulent and went quickly. Plus an awesome cheese and charcuterie platter and a dessert platter. All delivered and setup just before our event. Kudos, we will absolutely use them again! Highly recommended!!!!! read more

Very surprised at the four rating for this deli. Just stopped in for an egg sandwich. Perfectly executed, bacon, egg and cheese cooked exactly as requested. Very inconsistent quality. I will never come back to this place! I ordered takeout about two weeks ago. Half the order was wrong. They didn't offer to fix it or refund me. I'm not surprised to see such a low average for this deli's reviews. I've been here probably 15-20x since moving to Roslyn, mostly because its conveniently in town and the only deli option nearby. Today I went because I was a little bit hungry and wanted a turkey sandwich. It was a basic sandwich with lettuce on a roll. The roll was stale, which they often are, and the sandwich was $14. This was a sandwich worth $4. I almost bought a cookie too, but when she told me it was $3.49 plus tax for this 50 cent cookie, I couldn't bring myself to do it. If this were an excellent deli, there would be reason to pay these prices. For a dirty, disorganized deli with subpar food, its just nuts and taking advantage of the people who live here. I will do my best to come here as little as possible in the future. read more

Once you try Delicacies Gourmet, you will never go to another Deli!!! If it is not on the menu, as, they will do their best to accommodate you. The salads are the freshest and made to order. There is nothing on the menu that you will not find mouthwatering. Catering is the best, and you can order the last minute and they will do their best to make sure you get what you want and when you want it. BBQs always ready to set you up in your own backyard and you are the guest. Great concept. 5 Stars all the way, I would give it a 10 if they had such a thing. read more

Their food is okay but overpriced. Be very careful from being overcharged as it seems to be the case today. A $6.99 egg salad sandwich with added tomato on a wrap will set you back to close $11 after tax paid in cash. I know tomatoes and wrap bread is extra but still can't understand how it jumps up from $7 to $11. Worst the egg salad was very heavy with mayo and lacked any taste and flavor. Better of making food at home and only coming here for certain things but double check the price as the menu price is different and much higher than what they charge you at the register. read more

I would give 1 star because everyone who answers the phone is super snotty but they get / stars because their food is good. Today I tried to place an order in their website and it said $15 minimum. I was placing 2 orders with 2 credit cards so I called to see if there was a way I could go that and the first girl who answered, Lisa was so rude and mid conversation she just put me on the phone with someone else and didn't bother to tell me. The second girl got on and I explained and she said we can't do that. She seemed very annoyed but I said can you take my order and she said $15 min. I told her there was going to be two waters and I've done this before so she said all right fine with her attitude I gave her my order gave her the credit card proceed with the next order in for a small salad that's nine dollars it came out to almost 15 and I asked her how and she said it's $10 +3 dollars delivery charge plus a credit card fee etc. I said forget it forget both orders. They lost our business. No excuse for that attitude! I'm trying to support the food industry but I guess because their business didn't miss a beat, they don't care. Mind you I've been there before and ordered before and there's always an attitude on the phone read more

This the the best deli I've found in this area. With açaí bowls and smoothies , pizza, and normal deli things all inside, your options are huge!!! The service is incredible! The staff is friendly and work efficiently to make sure your order comes out fast and correct. I would highly recommend giving this place a chance. 1/28/2020 update! I've continued going here for breakfast/lunch and it seems they took away the pizza and expanded the açaí bowl place. Still would highly recommend it for sandwiches, lunch, etc. 5 stars!! read more

Don't understand why the overall rating is so low! This deli has everything you're looking for! Service is always fast and friendly. My husband and I have ordered on the app to pick up and in person numerous times and have never had an issue with our order. We've had the wraps and paninis and the banana nut muffin. Established in 1990.

Jimmy and Rich founded Delicacies Gourmet Delicatessen more than 30 years ago. We are "deli guys" from the good old deli days. In 2008, we expanded into the adjacent store and made major renovations which included European glass display cases for our dazzling assortments of fresh foods. In 2012, we expanded again for more seating and opened a Organic juice bar with our friends. "Nooks Organic" sells a whole line of fresh squeezed juices and Acai Bowls. We are always trying to improve our menu's and options to be the best old deli around!

The food is excellent and still very affordable. Walter & staff are very friendliness and are on a first name basis with most of their customers. Conveniently located on Port Washington Blvd, which at times can be very busy, but there is parking in the back and street parking is also available.
