Affordable rates. Friendly service. Beautiful setting. Check in was simple. Great location that's very close to Ohiopyle and all the areas recreational activities. The rooms are small, but new carpet and appear to be recently painted. They would be much more inviting with a modern update. There is definitely a need for more rooms with king beds, as currently most rooms are 2 full sized beds. The deck is spacious and a great amenity, but they need maintenance. The screen door on ours was broken and the deck stain was rather faded on all of them. No continental breakfast or vending on site. However, the building exteriors have been recently updated with new paint & siding and metal roofing. The grounds also have recently improved landscaping and there is a small fire pit for all to share. The lake view is a highlight, request a room that offers one. I can see the vision that the owners have for the property and I look forward to a future visit, after the renovations are fully completed. read more

My most recent stay was June 30 and July 1, 2023. My worksite is nearby so I've been staying there a couple nights per month since Feb 2023. Well I discovered I'd been bitten up by BED BUGS after lunch on July 2! I was lucky I hadnt been home yet and all my potentially infested stuff was in my car. So after working an 8 hour shift, driving 1 and a half hours home, it took me 4 hours to throw stuff away, bag up my clothes, windex everything that could be cleaned, washed and dried clothes 3 times on high heat, had wood in the car too, had to burn that. I left everything I couldnt clean but wanted to save, like a $200 pair of work boots, suitcase, etc in my car. Then I ran my car with heat on blast until I got temp above 118° for at least 2 hours. I had to miss work the next day because I was up until 4am trying to do all this. Since I'd been a regular guest I assumed they would at least issue a refund. They refused to refund my money and completely deny they have bed bugs. They gave me the names of the exterminators they use and I spoke to one of them on the phone, very nice guy. He said he did treat some rooms there but not the one I stayed in. He also said my bite marks do sound like theyre from bed bugs. Everytime I spoke to the manager, Britney, she insists I was bitten by spiders or mosquitoes, but from the pictures you can clearly see its bed bug bites. In addition to that, I have asked at least 3 times if they offer a weekly rate and they always say no. But a co worker who just arrived a week or 2 ago said they gave him a weekly rate of $375. Whats up with that? Sadly I wont be able to stay at the lodge anymore because they refused to refund me and be honest about their pest procedures. I really enjoyed it until this happened. If you stay there be sure to check the mattress for bed bugs. read more

This place is truly a hidden gem! The property is beautiful, clean, and quiet. The lake is beautiful and stocked with fish. There are also grills if you want to cook out. It is very close to all the major attractions such as Fallingwater, Laurel Caverns, Ohiopyle, Christian Klay winery, and Fort Necessity, which make it all the better to stay. The prices are always very reasonable compared to the other choices around. I have stayed there a few times by myself and with my family. I appreciate how the rooms are always very clean. I have stayed in their standard and king rooms. I found the king room to be very spacious with a full size fridge in the which is perfect when traveling with my family. They are also pet friendly which is a huge plus so you do not have to board your pet while on vacation. The employees there are very friendly and have helped me book the perfect rooms based on my needs making the process that much easier. The check in process was as equally smooth checking during or after business hours via lock box. I will stay no where else when visiting the area. read more

Stayed here for one night in shoulder season so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. It's a unique property--driving up, the rooms look more like mini cabanas. The fact that they each have a private deck overlooking a small lake reinforces this vibe. It's definitely not fancy but is clean and recently renovated. Mattresses are super comfy and our room had a microwave and half fridge. They also have a paved walking path on the property, which we enjoyed taking to our included continental breakfast, startling some grazing deer. Good location if you're in the area checking out Fallingwater, Ohio Pyle, or any of the other sites. We'd stay here again--definitely a good value if you are on a budget. read more

Stayed here after rafting in Ohiopyle. It was a last minute trip / decision so this was a last resort choice as we could find no other vacancies. I appreciated the fact they had a room for us, but the second we walked in the musty / moldy smell hit. The rooms are old & dated and fusty is the only way to describe it. Like the kind of bedspreads you don't really want to touch. We slept with the patio door open all night with the screen closed since the smell was awful when we closed the glass door. Thank goodness it was a coolish & nice night so we could do that. Breakfast was cereal, (rice krispies, raisin bran or cheerios), coffee and bread products and some bananas. It was sufficient to get us on the road. It had two double beds, my bf & I opted not to sleep with each other because we would have been mushed and slept separately. The deck out back was nice, we sat out there in the evening and enjoyed the weather and for a bit in the morning with some coffee. This place will do in a pinch, but it's not great. read more

While the cost was very cheap and the employees we encountered were perfectly nice, I would chose to spend more and get more next time. The location is convenient to Fallingwater. You could call this place rustic, but it's more like outdated. Our room faced the pond but we couldn't lock our sliding door partway - what ever mechanism that used to be there was broken and the screen door was missing - so we had to sleep in a musty-smelling room for the long weekend. The AC worked great, though it didn't help with the smell. The linens, both bed and bath, were worn. The shampoo/body soap was so cheap I didn't feel clean after using it. The bathroom counter was a nice Pink Pearl granite but housekeeping needs training. The bathroom switch plate, that we had to touch each time we entered, was filthy! The wall between the sink and mirror needed a wipe down!!! Continental breakfast was limited. The landscaping and parking lot looked fine. They do accept dogs, for a fee. read more

This is one of, if not the worst hotels/motels/hostels I have EVER stayed at. DO NOT STAY HERE! Very bad service, and rooms infested with Yellow Jacket wasps, and flys! I arrived in the middle of the night during a snow storm. I had called ahead to make a reservation, but the woman at the front desk told me that there were rooms available tonight and I did not need to make a reservation. We arrived, she gave us a key to the room, and when we went into the room it was freezing. I mean literally. The temperature was around 32 degrees Fahrenheit; the heat was not turned on at all. NOT the worst of our troubles. After we turned the heat on, and the room started warming up I noticed a yellow jacket on the wall. I killed it, no big deal. Then I found 2 more yellow jackets on the floor. All of a sudden, my dog whimpered in pain, then started acting very scared. Her tail was between her legs, she would not leave my side. I walked over to where she had been laying down and found 2 more yellow jackets. I realized she had been stung. I decided to put on my coat and take her out. As soon as I put my coat on, I was stung repeatedly in the arm by another yellow jacket that had crawled into my sleeve. My boyfriend then jumped out of the bed because there were yellow jackets crawling on his legs under the covers. He called the front desk and the woman said that she had a can of raid that we could come get from the front desk if we wanted. Since we do not like spraying our room and bed down with toxic chemicals to sleep in, we asked if there was another solution. The woman told us that we could bring the keys up to the front desk, get a partial refund, and we could leave. Since we were basically in the middle of no where, in the middle of the night, during a snowstorm we were unable to leave to go sleep somewhere else. After much arguing, and being uncooperative, the woman finally agreed to give us a new room. My boyfriend went to the office to get a new key, and while he did, I counted 37 yellow jackets in the room that I could find. The new room was also freezing, and the television did not work. But worst of all, this room was infested with flys. Since we figured that flys were a step up from wasps, we decided to stay in the room and deal with the issues in the morning. Morning came and we were eager to leave. We went to the front office. The man there said his boss was not working so there was nothing he could do. He gave us his boss's number and told us her schedule. When I got home the next day, I called the boss, again she was not in the office, but I left a message. She called me back 3 days later and said that she could not give me the refund I thought I deserved because some of the money must go to cleaning costs. I told her that was unacceptable, and she told me she would talk to her manager and get back to me the next day. After calling everyday for over 2 weeks, I have still not heard back from her. I would highly recommend not staying here. It was so terrible. read more

Place is a 70's style decor and kind of shabby. Although there appeared to be newer carpet it still smelled musty and there were water stains on the ceiling. There was a refrigerator, small stove, and microwave. Didn't try the appliances except for the fridge - which had a cracked inner door and leaked water all over the floor. Don't get me wrong - it wasn't terrible - it just wasn't worth the $100 bucks they charged us for the room. This place is more in line with the $29.95 rooms you see all along I-70. In fact, most of the others staying at this place were construction workers. I have trouble believing they were paying that much. Although they had a AAA sticker on the door they would not give me a discount. This place in short charges what they do because they only other places in the area are B&B's and Nemacolin which is $350 and night and up. read more

The price was reasonable. The location was good for our visit to Falling Water. The property has about seven sets of several, connected, one-story cottages with one set reserved for pet owners. The grounds are well maintained and spacious, with the facility far enough from the road to cut a lot of the noise. Even our light sleeper had no issues. The room was clean and spacious. Management was friendly and accommodating. I did not notice any odors as others have reported. The weather was good, so we were able to enjoy sitting on the room's deck while having our meals and walking our dog around the property. It is clear that it was not built in the last few years, but i would definitely stay again. read more

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The ground a are very well kept. The deck on my room could use a paint job and I wish they could clean out right up next to the fishing pond. It has one of the best restaurants in the area just across the street and it's only a few minutes away from all the river stuff going on in Ohiopyle State Park. We stayed here on our way to Ohiopyle. The buildings looked nice from the outside, they were like little cabins. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked in the room the musty smell was overwhelming. We opened the deck door and that helped. We didn't sleep with the screen door open since there was no back railing on the deck so anyone or anything could have come up. The price we paid was a little high for such an outdated room. It did have a large mini fridge. It served it's purpose but we would not stay here more than one night. Granted, I am usual a "Hampton Inn" kind of girl, but this was terrible. The sheets are from the dollar store it seems! Old and washed so many times they start bunching. Pillow tops were not white, had some brown tint. Gross. The shower had "Euro Bath" in it that was empty, umm then provide shampoo and conditioner? Just terrible. Don't do it!!!!! read more

We recently stayed here for a fall weekend. The rooms were clean, did have a closed smell but I carry air freshener with me so no big deal. I am allergic to mold so if there was mold I would of known. Beds were comfortable, TV's worked, the staff was polite and cordial, reasonable rate plus they allow pets for a fair upcharge. Continental breakfast was available, cereal, juice, coffee, toast, tea, bagels, butter & crème cheese, Our group rented 5 rooms and all said the same thing. If people are looking for new, up scale then they should go down the street and pay $300 plus a night. Recently was in Nashville and had to stay at Red Roof, rate was higher, room was dirty and list goes on. So for the $ value this worked. I was concerned of staying here after reading some of the reviews and called the winery and they assured me that it was ok and they were right. Some people have bad attitudes to begin with and have to high expectations. If you want a 5 star facility you have to pay for it and sometimes you still don't get it! Everyone in our group was satisfied and since I set this up for them I was happy. The only thing I would recommend is to bring air freshener. read more

After another place failed to hold our reservations, we found ourselves at this place, site unseen. The rate was just under $100 - ridiculously high given what follows. As you drive up to it, it looks charming: enjoined cabins overlooking a lake with people sitting out on individual patios for each room. As you get closer, you see the peeling paint, the minimal landscaping, and the "charming" feel becomes more of a "cheap" feel, as if the place were built for cub scout encampments. Our room was scuzzy: one bed had a HUGE stain on the fitted sheet. (Wasn't housekeeping embarrassed to put the sheet on?) The other bed had dozens of small hairs all over the fitted sheet and even under the pillows. One bed was quite saggy and hurt my back. There was a cigarette burn clear through one comforter. The television (which got only 7 or 8 channels) had a large burn mark that melted away part of the top. The back slider's lock was broken - only a piece of wood stuck in the track prevented it from opening. When I mentioned the problems to the clerk upon check-out, he simply said, "OK". Breakfast was very limited: a couple pitchers of juice, bagels, and cold cereal. read more

This was a cute property on a unique property. It's economy priced so continental breakfast wasn't too expansive and it's dated but clean with balcony and cute lake in front. My only criticism was that our room had too double beds so a little small for sleeping with my wife. read more

Stayed off season in early March 2016 while visiting Falling Water. Great value for the price. each room has a little deck - not private but shaded and adds a pleasant outdoor space to relax in. tv, wifi, fridge worked great. room was clean and the bathroom had updated tile and nice solid surface or granite vanity. perfect for the price! owners/staff really want to accommodate and are super nice - i was traveling solo and felt safe and comfortable. The rooms are decent, the Indian family that owns the place are scum. After spending almost $200 to stay there the last 2 nights, and giving them an additional $21.80 to check out 2 hours late, it became time for us to leave the room as we were waiting for our Enterprise rental car pick up, which would take about 30 minutes to arrive. Before paying for the late checkout, the old man at the front desk told us the room needed to be vacated at 2:00 for cleaning because a large group was coming and would be taking that room and several next to it. The young girl standing next to him told us we could wait in their lobby from the time we would be leaving the room (2:00 pm) until the rental car showed up. At 2:30, we took our 6 bags out of the room and laid them in front of our door and proceeded to the front desk. Mind you no one had shown up at 2 to clean the room and there was no large group that showed up by their supposed 2:30 check in time. After putting our bags outside, we walked up to the front desk and asked if we could bring our bags inside while we waited for our car. It was very hot outside and we were looking forward to waiting in the cool lobby as we were told we could earlier. When we walked in, an older indian woman was behind the desk and told us she couldn't have anyone waiting in the lobby and we would have to wait outside. I told her that the man and young girl told us we could wait there, but at this point I was so disgusted with these people I stormed out of the building. We ended up waiting until about 3:00 for the car to arrive and no "large group" had ever shown up to stay "lakeside" as the old man put it and no one went in to clean the room. These people are nothing but a bunch of lying cheapskates who deserve zero respect and definitely don't deserve anyone's money. I'm upset that I gave the guy an extra $20 to stay for 2 extra hours and then had to wait out in the heat for our car. I've been to hundreds of hotels in my life and have been allowed to wait in every lobby I needed to for a ride or whatever reason. These people don't understand the concept of hospitality or how a motel with a lobby should be run. They are a complete joke and I hope that this review will cost them business everytime someone reads it. read more

Worst hotel and rudest management. It is a seedy hotel owned by an Indian family and they treat guests like an inconvenience. I spent close to $400 for 5 nights here and upon checkout I asked for late checkout and they said I had to give them $20 to checkout at 2pm so I did. I checked out and asked if I could wait in the lobby for a minute until my ride came. It is about 90 degrees outside. Not to mention there were zero other guests here they didn't even need the room. Instead of saying yes like any normal hotel would she said "when is your ride coming". She wouldn't even let me sit in the lobby for 15 minutes!! This is beyond rude I can't believe this place is even open still. The room had bugs everywhere and the owners are ridiculously cruel. DO NOT STAY HERE there are places for the same price up the street at nenocolin where they treat you as a paying guest!!! read more

Rooms are tiny, bugs crawling Everywhere, wifi works only if you're standing outside, spent the week with outside temps (roughy 50 degrees) because while running the heater ran air that smelled like what I could only compare to a rotting corpse. Booked a two night stay online and asked for a smoking room. As a smoker, I can appreciate the fact that there may be a hint of cigarette smoke left from the prior guest. What I wasn't prepared for was the nauseatingly thick and overwhelming smell of years of stale cigarette smoke that hit me in the face when I walked in, coupled with a nice brownish/yellow tint of built up nicoteine on everything in the room. Went to the office and requested a non smoking room, but was told there were none available, and was given keys to another smoking room. The second smoking room was all of the above topped off with an eye watering hospital antiseptic smell. Went back to the office and asked for a refund. Was denied a refund (not even a partial refund), but was instead offered a can of air freshener. The air freshener was politely declined, the keys were handed back, and I headed down the road $170 poorer to look for another place to stay. Through this review, I hope I can spare the next unsuspecting victim a bit of frustration and loss of precious time and money. read more
