Swung by after a morning workout. Personally had an americano. Didn't end up trying a pastry even though a lot of folks were. There is some seating outside. Limited parking in the plaza.

My breakfast sandwich was flavorful. The sesame brioche bread was so light and perfectly toasted. My over easy egg was overcooked but it worked out fine. My friend said it was the best sandwich she ever had. That was only 1 bite in. She loved the homemade jam and ricotta toast. She devoured it and the apologized for not offering a bite. I was so full from my sandwich I didn't notice. The sausage roll is a new item. Bread was flaky and perfectly crispy. Sausage had a kick! I tried a piece after I had my breakfast sandwich so I'll try the rest later. Not my fave. Cashier was super friendly and patient since it was our first time. Very helpful and understanding in explaining all the choices. It's pretty much a self serve restaurant. Asked for a refill and an additional cup of water and it took a minute. Asked for a to go box and never got it. There is no seating inside. Probably only 6 people max fit to wait in line inside. There's plenty of tables outside with large umbrellas. Lots of trees so there's debris on the table and chairs. Chairs are horribly uncomfortable metal chairs. Table legs are so narrow my knees didn't fit. The restaurant is in a crowded strip mall at the end. Parking could be difficult. Located in Woodland Hills so there's a small window that you can actually eat there. Summers are too hot and I can't imagine it's enjoyable in the rain.

TLDR: 5/5 - Lodge Bread does it again Do you know the amount of times I've tried to get myself back here? Ordered: Country Loaf: 5/5 - Yeah so um was not expecting the loaf to be an absolute boheameth? For $11? Safe to say I demolished it. Good Bread. Blueberry Scone: 5/5 I was already eyeing the scone but im glad he reassured me to get it because holy cow, this was the best scone ive ever had. First off it was huge? Second my god..it was moist!! It's also sweeter than other scones probably due to the caramelization sugar on top but it doesn't make it textbook sweet. In fact, all together it doesn't really make it sweet its just unexpected at first but its a good balance overall. Actually obsessed with this. Cinnamon Coffee Cake: 5/5 I gave this to my friend but she loved it! Iced Dirty Chai: 4.8/5 5/5 alone for presentation they served this so fancy for just a togo order. This is what I'm talking about when I want a dirty chai. Good blend, good flavor, and just a little sweetener. Ambiance: 5/5 Granted its sunday but it was still pretty crackin for 9:45A. Its all outdoor seating but its nicely dispersed so you dont feel like its as crowded as it is. Mostly shaded too. Service: 5/5 I'm so sorry I forgot the gentleman who helped me but I was indecisive and he gave me the coffee cake for free! And reccomended the scone You're a real one fam! So glad this place still hits the same all these years later.

I literally found this place randomly because I just wanted a sandwich for lunch... and I'm so glad I did The focaccia bread was SO soft and fresh, like actually perfect. A little crispy on the outside but super fluffy inside. And everything in the sandwich just went so well together, nothing was too much, nothing was missing. Just really good, fresh ingredients that all paired perfectly. It's one of those sandwiches that looks simple but tastes sooo good. Service was so fast and friendly! Ambiance is nice, it's mainly outdoor seating but they have umbrellas to block the sun on a hot day! Definitely coming back, this was such a good random find.

This spot is an upper scale bakery in Woodland Hills that bakes some of the best croissants in LA. They make croissants out of sourdough and they are nothing short of amazing. A perfect combo of savory and sweet notes, with incredible texture of perfectly crispy on the outside and pillowy soft on the inside. The bakery offers multiple croissant options, but I prefer mine plain, so I can really savor the flavor of their amazing sourdough. I also order their hot latte to complement my croissant and head straight to their tree covered patio to enjoy my food. The service here is great, the space carries positive aura and the tree-covered patio with around 10 tables is awesome. Will definitely come again!

Lodge bread has so many different options to choose from and you know whatever you choose will have the highest quality ingredients! The parking lot can be a bit tricky depending on the day and time. You order at the register and then they bring it to you. There is no seating indoors but plenty of seating outside. While I love it, I feel like the price is a bit too steep with the 4% charge to support the employees. I think it is great and very important to support their employee's wellbeing but it should be the company doing that already. Their prices are steep as it is so it should be built in to that. Tip- stop at blue bottle next door before to get a great coffee or matcha to go with your meal! But, Lodge Bread has a really good vanilla latte!

Great brunch , yummy pastrami and fresh bread. Loved the ricotta jam toast as well. Their shakshuka although fresh was very sweet though, it almost was a borderline dessert instead of something savory that caught me off guard. But other than that it everything else tasted fresh and on point

FANTASTIC! I have come here so many times, it might even be my third space. It's casual, yet cute and so delectable. Nothing here feels greasy or fast, all the food feels very intentional and made with love. Some of my favorites: egg salad sandwich, tuna sandwich, breakfast sandwich, pastrami sandwich. Yes I do realize they are all sandwiches and that it's like half the menu, point is you can't go wrong. I will only say that I wish their orange juice was fresh squeezed. But it's fine! Nothing beats yapping over brunch/lunch here and then strolling the center's shops. Also love the staff, always so kind xx

I've been going to lodge bread for over 5 years this places is definitely one of my top picks for an amazing sandwich or even just a loaf. The service here is quick lines go by fast and you'll always find a table even during Sunday brunch hours. Even from opening this places has a line of people ready for their fix. I love everything about lodge bread the seating outside is nice and shaded by the trees and umbrellas. I HIGHLY recommend any of the sandwiches I haven't had a bad one to date way different from what they had 5 year ago. If you haven't been here in a couple years it's definitely changed for the better and it was already a 10/10 My partner loves the mint lemonade perfect tartness not too sweet! During Covid they used to sell starter and dough I don't know if I they still do but if they do for their sandwich bread need it now please and thank you

We ordered a couple of their sandwiches--the pastrami was good not great and the egg bacon sandwich was tasty. The bread for the egg and bacon sandwich was fluffy and tender but the bread for the pastrami was not as enjoyable. The environment is nice on the patio. As for some details, this plaza is run by metropolis parking so don't forget to scan the QR code. Lodge is in the back of the area and they have outdoor dining--the sandwiches took a bit of time to come out but nothing excessive. I will say that the tables are very small. Pictured you can see one of my legs fits comfortably where two legs are meant to be. Of course I have large legs but I am saddened by the continual move to uncomfortable small chairs that dig into your glutes, hips, and thighs. I know it helps restaurants turn the tables over quicker but just uncomfortable. We got water from the container and it tasted like straight up fabuloso, LOL. When we asked about it they clearly were deflecting and saying something vague. A cute vibe with potential but I don't think they have executed with the sandwiches and some logistical components.

Our friend recommended this place. We've been going to Blue Bottle Coffee next door and never noticed Lodge Bread. We ordered their sandwiches and some pastries which were all great. Nice place to chill, hang with friends and have good food. Lots of seating available outside. Parking does have a fee. $7 for less than an hour is crazy, but that's not their fault.

Love the shakshuka! We were in the neighborhood and wanted to grab a quick bite last weekend, and I can now say we have a new spot to start the weekend right. It has a tiny interior, you order at the front, and there's a good sized outdoor seating area. Service is pretty fast as well. One of the best shakshukas we've ever had! Just so good. You really must treat yourself to a great brunch whenever possible. The chai latte and veggie sammy were also pretty good. Will definitely be back. One thing to note: I'd really like them to be more cautious with the toothpicks, as one still had its plastic wrapping and ended up inside the sandwich. If I hadn't noticed it, I probably would have eaten it.

Ask the Community - Lodge Bread

    Is there indoor seating?

If this is the one on Ventura Blvd, NO. All of the plentiful seating is outside. The Ventura location is small and just enough for the kitchen and staff (with a line to take orders).

How much does a loaf of sourdough cost and is it available daily?

They have amazing breads, I have not had the sourdough u can call them.

Is it open now for indoor seating?

I was there yesterday and they still did not have any sitting.. I do not understand as they have plenty of space outside to put tables.

Do you have gluten free options?

    No clue!

Where can I find the nutritional table for the breads you sell?

I dnt work at the Lodge bread

    Where are you located?

They are located in the Valley Country Mart. There is a lot of cute little shops and the Lodge Bread is on the right corner that is the furthest from the entrance to the Valley Country Mart parking lot.

I've visited Café Dulce in Little Tokyo before, and I usually enjoy stopping in, especially when…read moreI'm in the area with my two kids. The drinks and pastries have always made it an easy place for us to grab a treat, so I'm not writing this based on one random first impression. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing enough that I felt I needed to say something. When we came in, the trash cans were overflowing, and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. I understand that cafés can get very busy, especially in Little Tokyo, and I never expect a place to look perfect every second of the day. However, the dining area felt noticeably neglected. With two children, cleanliness is something I pay closer attention to, and it was uncomfortable trying to find a clean area for us to stand and sit. The overall atmosphere also felt disorganized. We waited at the register for help, but it took a while before anyone acknowledged us. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference. I have had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit stood out so much. I'm hoping this was simply a bad day, because Café Dulce has always been a place I was happy to visit with my family. I'm sharing this because I would genuinely like to see the cleanliness and customer service return to the standard I remember. Private Feedback for Management I did not feel comfortable putting the full details of this experience in a public review, but I believe management needs to be aware of what happened. While I was standing at the register waiting to order, the male employee working there was engaged in a conversation with another person and appeared to be openly gloating about drinking while on the job. Based on what I heard and observed, he also appeared to be impaired or intoxicated. He continued the conversation while ignoring me, even though I was standing directly in front of the register waiting to place an order. The tone of the conversation was not subtle or professional. It created a much darker and more uncomfortable atmosphere than what I would ever expect from a family-friendly café. I was there with my two children, and hearing someone behind the register casually talking about drinking while working was deeply concerning. Someone who appears intoxicated while operating a register and handling customers' money creates a terrible narrative for the business. It raises concerns about judgment, accuracy with transactions, food-service safety, and the overall professionalism of the workplace. Even if the employee was exaggerating or joking, it was still completely inappropriate to have that conversation openly in front of customers. What bothered me most was not only the conversation, but the fact that I was being ignored while it continued. I was waiting to spend money at the business, yet the employee seemed more interested in talking about drinking than acknowledging a customer. As a mother standing there with two children, the situation felt uncomfortable, disrespectful, and honestly a little disturbing. This is not my first time visiting Café Dulce, and I have never felt compelled to complain before. I understand that employees are human and that businesses have difficult days. However, the combination of overflowing trash cans, a dirty floor, being ignored at the register, and an employee appearing impaired while discussing drinking on the job crossed a line for me. I am sharing this privately because I believe management should have the opportunity to address it directly. I hope the situation is taken seriously, not only for the reputation of the café, but for the safety and comfort of the customers and employees.

Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. I tried the Tropical Mango ($11) and Framboiselle ($9.50) for the first time and they were really good! They have both become a new favorite of mine and I will order them again! Service was great as well. I just wish that they would carry more savory croissants at this location.

They're also very on-trend, whenever a Korean dessert goes viral, they usually have it here. Recently, they even started selling butter tteok, and I heard it was one of the first places to have it in K-town. I highly recommend the salted bread. Honestly, I think it's even better than the famous spot everyone talks about. My favorite is the corn cheese, it's especially delicious when it's warm. I also tried the Korean chamoe (melon) smoothie, and it was very refreshing. It tasted like they used real melon, since there was a slight natural tanginess that made it even better. There is free parking, though the lot is a bit small. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating, but the seating area is somewhat limited too

I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.

I'm not big on creamy and sugary things and I'm more of a chocolatey person. They had lots of different options for cookies, brownies, banana pudding, and drinks.

And I know that vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting is pretty easy to make, but sometimes I'd rather just buy baked goods than make them for myself, especially when I'm driving past what I thought was a popular (and presumably good) bake shop. I expected a high-quality cupcake. The cupcakes looked cute, but they were as dry as the Sahara. They should have been labeled as white cupcakes as I didn't detect any vanilla in them. I suspect that the "buttercream" was made with milk and margarine and powdered sugar.....so much powdered sugar. It was sickeningly sweet, and it was dry too. And a true bettercream doesn't even use powdered sugar. So not only were the cupcakes terrible, they were not even what they purported to be. This is like calling a cut of meat a filet mignon and serving a hamburger. Von's, Ralphs and Albertson's make better cupcakes than this for a fraction of othe price.
