NUMBER 3 (Lox, SCALLION CC, capers, radish, dill, pickled onion, salted cucumber, tomato) (I asked for no sprouts)

I ordered the #3 from the sandwich menu on a Rosemary sea salt bagel and it was delicious. The bagel was full, and flavorful. I did have it toasted and took it to go and it was a little hard to chew...so next time I'd probably not have it toasted or just eat it on the spot. Good enough to try another sandwich or even build your own!

Wonderful breakfast at Hank's Bagels Calabasas. This place is top tier. Definitely one of, if not, the best bagels I've ever had, the breakfast bagel was so good, nice place to sit down and great service.

To be honest , had higher expectations . Have had sourdough bagels in the past from other places and these just didn't hit the mark. Purchased everything, poppy and sesame and although the toppings were different, the actual dough was the same. At $3.00 a bagel, they didn't have much flavor and were quite dense. Person working the counter was helpful as far as taking my order and the place was clean. Parking available in the strip mall lot.

Yum! Finally got to try this place after having it on my list forever--and it totally lived up to the hype! I had the onion bagel with scallion cream cheese and fresh tomato slices. Simple combo, but so flavorful and satisfying. The staff was super friendly and the whole place has a great vibe. I already spotted a few other things I want to come back for. Can't wait for my next visit!

Hank's is a true gem! Great location with plenty of parking. Always friendly service. There is also a bunch of seating outside. My favorite part about Hank's is their wide variety of options as well as their coffee. Seriously some of the most unexpectedly delicious cold brew I've ever had. Last weekend I ordered the cinnamon raisin bagel with apple pie cream cheese (I know crazy order but it shows the menu's variety). My one gripe is how tough/chewy the bagels are. I do like a bit of a chew comparable to a New York bagel but I've noticed having to tug to bite a piece off. If this was fixed, 5/5 stars!

4+ bagel shop located in a strip mall in Calabasas. I've been to their other location in Burbank/Toluca Lake, but this is my first time at this location. I crashed at a friend's house on New Year's Eve and this was in the neighborhood. I thought it would be perfect to go grab some bagels for the crew. Especially since I'm a big fan of their rosemary sea salt bagels. Shop I think is a little smaller than the other location, but it feels like it's the usual size of a grab and go bagel shop. The people here very friendly and they were efficient because there was quite a line at opening to grab bagels that morning. A lot of people had the same thing I had in mind lol I just got a variety of bagels, including a few of the rosemary sea salt, cause I thought my friend la should definitely try that. I got a couple of the schmears as well. These were definitely a hit with the group. If you're looking for great bagels in a convenient, grab and go location, this is the spot. There was plenty of parking at least in the morning because there's a pretty sizable lot allocated to the strip mall

By far the best bagel I've had in the LA area--it even got the stamp of approval from my friend from New Jersey. I ordered a plain untoasted bagel with avocado and scallion cream cheese. It came out fast and tasted delicious. The space is small but it was clean and simple. We ate outside, and an employee saw some of us were standing and quickly gave us more chairs. He was very kind. I recommend!

They've been serving their loyal customers in the San Fernando Valley since 1959! Handmade meatballs and marinara sauce, that's simmered for 7 hours. Lasagna that's made from scratch daily. You can't beat their popular Italian Sub so of course we had to order that! Picked up a couple old school Italian sandwiches for our Hollywood Bowl show. Of course, we couldn't leave without their housemade Tiramisu and Carrot Cake Bar. Trust me, definitely worth it! Don't skip out on their cannolis and other desserts. There's a little market inside and seating. Perfect for a picnic or catering your next event!

Well, Well, Well…read more... It appears that my 23&Me ancestry composition has been recently updated and as of today, you are now looking at a 7.1%, Pure, Italian Stallion. Yeah, I too always thought I looked like a young Joe Pesci... Ha! Hey, Fugheddaboudit!!!! Hey, hate me for my ways, but blood is blood and I'm going to run with this Italian thing for as long as I can. And just as my "old Italian Nonna" might have said, had I actually had one... "O mangi la minestra o salti la finestra" But being that I am less than 10% actual Italian blooded, and me not actually having a Nonna who would probably just yell crazy things at me in Italian, I'll just stick to the little Italian that I actually know..... The Food!!!! Yeah give me.... A little meatballs slathered in marinara covered in melted provolone... Or Some thinly sliced prosciutto, mortadella, capicola on some crusty Italian bread... Or even... A square of lasagna with Italian sausage, mozzarella, ricotta, Romano cheese served with a chilled San Pellegrino to wash it all down... And you'd be 100%, not 7.1% correct, that I would enthusiastically rep my Italian heritage and proudly wave the colors of my National flag... The Red, The White & The Bl.... Errr, I mean Green! ;) Yes, I can admittedly get behind Italian food any day of the week and I know my "Nonna" would be proud. Well thankfully, you don't have to go all the way back to the Motherland to visit your Nonna and experience the old world eats of a little place called Italia! Cause Cavaretta's Italian Deli has all your Deli needs and wants covered. Yep, a San Fernando Valley staple since 1959, this spot has been and continues to be the place to grab the Best Italian sandwich (according to the Daily News) this side of the Colosseum (according to me, Lance L.). But the cocoa powder on top of the Tiramisu (aka the cherry on top)... This deli has an Italian Grocery shop with everything you need to make your real or made up Nonna proud back in your kitchen. So, forget about waiting around for your 23&Me results to come back and just get your little pasticcino buns over to Cavaretta's and live like the Italiano's do! Ciao Bella!

If your looking for a real sub look no further A friend…read moretold me about Cricca's Deli & being a big fan of Sub's I had to check this place out. Let just start with Cricca's Deli makes some seriously well-crafted sandwiches. The quality really stands out -- generous portions of meat, fresh vegetables, and great attention to detail in every bite. You have several choices of bread, and I went with the soft roll, which tasted bakery-fresh and was the perfect match for the sandwich. The large subs are truly large -- easily big enough to share between two people. If you're looking for a deli sandwich made with fresh ingredients and generous portions, Cricca's is definitely worth a visit. If you in the area or looking for a high quality sandwich you have to check this place out - you will not be disappointed. I'll be back For Sure

Ok. I've seen this place online and thought to myself "if I'm ever in Woodland Hills, I'm going…read morehere". Well.....today was the day. It's a small Italian deli that hits the way you want it to. To the right as soon as you walk in, there's seats and a table where you can wait for your to go order or to eat there. The entire shop was clean, neat and orderly. It's sensory overload walking in. There's a lot going on. The menu is massive. I knew what I wanted after doing some homework before arriving so I was ready. The lady that took my order couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. I placed my order, paid, tipped and sat down. A few minutes later, I had what is probably the best sandwich I've had this year. I should have sat in the parking lot and enjoyed it but I wanted the elbow room because I knew this was a monster. After I got home and unwrapped this behemoth, I instantly knew it was worth the drive. The Dillinger (which is what I ordered) has Pastrami, Meatballs, Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozz Cheese, Garlic Butter and Marinara Sauce. If there's a better (big back) sandwich, I'll wait for your reply. This was soooooo gooood. In every bite you could taste each ingredient separately and it was an explosion of flavors. I ordered a small cup of their marinara sauce to dip/drizzle on each bite.....couldn't have been a better decision. Worth it. The 3 ladies that were working the front counter (around noon on 4/23) were the best. Just an all around great experience and fantastic food. I'll be back soon FOR SURE!!!!

Some evenings begin with a plan…read more Others begin with a rattlesnake. After one of the most emotionally exhausting weeks our family has ever endured, we found ourselves laughing in disbelief after being chased away by a rattlesnake at Las Virgenes Creek. Sometimes life has a funny way of reminding you that the best stories are never the ones you plan. Still carrying that adrenaline--and the weight of everything the week had brought--we made our way to Mendocino Farms in Calabasas, hoping for nothing more than a peaceful dinner. What we found was something far more meaningful. Our little girl, Pinta, had just celebrated her 17th birthday. To most people she's "just a dog." To us, she's family... our little strawberry. She's been courageously battling health issues, and after days of worry, tears, and countless prayers, there was one tiny victory worth celebrating: She wanted to eat. Without hesitation, one incredibly kind young gentleman--whose name I wish I could remember--prepared a fresh chicken dinner especially for her. It wasn't extravagant. It wasn't complicated. It was simply... kind. And somehow, that simple act became the most important meal served in the restaurant that evening. Watching her happily nibble on fresh chicken, stop for a sip of cool water, then come back for another bite felt like watching hope return one mouthful at a time. My partner and I couldn't stop smiling. After days of wondering what tomorrow might bring, we were finally allowed to simply enjoy today. What struck me wasn't just one employee--it was the entire team. There was no feeling that we were inconveniencing anyone. No rushed interactions. No obligation. Just genuine hospitality. Every smile felt sincere. Every conversation felt personal. Every moment reminded us that great restaurants don't just feed people... They care for them. I often think businesses spend enormous amounts of time trying to create memorable guest experiences, when in reality they're created by people who choose kindness in moments no handbook could ever script. If someone from Mendocino Farms' leadership happens to read this, I hope you know something: Whatever culture you're cultivating in Calabasas is working. Your team didn't simply serve dinner. They unknowingly became part of one of our family's favorite memories. Years from now, I doubt we'll remember exactly what we ordered. But we'll always remember the night our little strawberry smiled over a plate of chicken... and how a group of strangers made us feel like we belonged. Some restaurants leave you full. The very special ones leave your heart a little fuller, too. Thank you, Mendocino Farms. Thank you for reminding us that kindness is still the finest ingredient anyone can serve.
