Honey Cup is the cutest!!!! A total hidden gem. Grabbed a bunch of pastries to go and the staff were so kind to put them all individually in branded boxes. Perfect if you are giving as a gift, or in my case, as a treat for guests at an event. They have such a great variety to choose from. And they were DELICIOUS!!!! Finding a proper café in the San Fernando Valley is like trying to find your neighbor. You'd be better off looking next-door. Nestled away in the back of Las Virgenes Road, a quiet adobe development houses Honey Cup Coffeehouse and Patisserie. They offer a small indoor seating section and an outdoor patio, weather permitting. While this café isn't winning the grand award for ambiance, it makes up for it in every other possible way. In the many visits I have made over the course of a year, their product has never failed to satisfy. Chai latte and coffee, biscotti and tiramisu, all commonly butchered by other cafés. Instead of making it too sweet or over-baking, Honey Cup hits the nail on the head and remains consistent. Their service, in my experience, has always been flawless. Some cafés have adopted a very rushed personality, where it feels offensive to sit there for longer than ten minutes. I have never felt rushed or out-of-place at Honey Cup, and I find that their service actually welcomes people to enjoy themselves at their own pace. The other day, I was looking for a place where I could enjoy a good dessert and a coffee in a cozy atmosphere. I found this place, and based on the photos, it looked beautiful and inviting. When I arrived, I ordered two desserts and a latte. I paid $28. They asked me whether I would be eating there or taking it to go, and I said I would be eating there. As a stay-at-home mom, those 30 minutes with a good dessert mean a lot to me. They brought me the two desserts, gave me a package of disposable utensils, and served my coffee in a to-go cup. One of the reasons I chose this place was because I wanted something aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. When I paid $28 and was handed a plastic fork and a paper coffee cup, no dessert could make up for that disappointment. I came to a café to enjoy a cup of coffee, not to have a picnic. I was driving through the 101 early on a weekday morning and craved a bakery that was open at 7am. This is a true hidden gem in Calabasas. The place was clean, bright and had a welcoming staff. While I wished I had time to sit down and order a coffee with my pastry, I ordered their plain croissant to go. The staff member kindly warmed it up for me and I enjoyed it on my drive. What an amazing croissant! It was light, flakey, and buttery. And most of all, it tasted fresh. I want to go back and buy a box of their pastries to take home and enjoy. Wonderful location with ample parking and pastries that taste as good as they look. The crossiant/bread is flakey and mouth watering good with flavorful filling. They have so many options from baked goods to breakfast/lunch sandwiches. Drink menu is posted on the wall and ordering is easy. There's a patio and inside seating but I decided to take my order to go. I'm excited for the Thousand Oaks location to open soon and it's comparable to Cafe Ficelle's baked goods if not better. HONEY I'm in HEAVEN!!! Popped into this adorable lil coffee house and patisserie with my daughter and we felt like we hit the jackpot! It's beautifully styled and at the time we went was decorated for Valentine's Day. I could go on and on about how it looks but let's get to the tasting. We did a 6 assortment of their mini version of their larger pastry. This lets you get a great sampling of these delectable desserts. We did Dubai chocolate, crème brûlée, and Strawberry cream. The food choices are endless, and there is a bit of something for everyone. They offer sandwiches, salads, pastries galore! Including a wonderful Dubai chocolate pastry and cruffins! If you haven't tried a cruffin before, you are missing out! Food: *My first trip started out with a bang! I tried the following: = Almond croissant ($7.25) : soft, buttery with a wonderful cream filling the middle. If you have a sweet tooth, this will be right up your alley! = Salami & Cheese Croissant ($7.15): though minimal salami, the croissant was fluffy and fresh! = Cesar Club sandwich ($13.95): Focaccia bread, chicken breast, parmesan cheesier, egg, arugula and Cesar dressing. The dressing is minimal for anyone who is worried. I really enjoyed the sandwich, the bread was soft and the egg was a nice touch. = Baguette ($12.95) : smoked turkey, provolone, red bell pepper, cream cheese, lettuce and cucumber. Overall, good sandwich large portion. I do think I could have done with a bit more cream cheese or maybe another type of spread. I really enjoyed the lavender latter with oat milk ($6.95). Luckily, we stumbled upon Honey Cup Café, and let me tell you -- it's like walking into a buttery, coffee-scented hug. Honey Cup is an absolute gem in Calabasas! My wife and I come here a few times a week. The moment you walk in the smell of fresh baked pastries puts you in the best mood. The chef is incredible and everything they make tastes like it was created with so much care and skill. The pastries are perfectly flaky, buttery and just next level. My favorites are the pistachio croissant which is nutty and rich, one of the best Ive ever had. The almond croissant is a little sweeter and super indulgent. Their sourdough bread is amazing but its only available on weekends so its worth planning a visit around that. The crust is perfect and the inside is soft and tangy. We arrived just as they were closing. The owner invited us in and we sampled the gelato. They make the gelato and it has honey in it. So good! He makes some gluten free items and a bread as well. I'm so excited this cafe has opened close to my house! The cafe is stunning, it reminds me of Europe. On a Saturday morning at 1030 am, the cafe had run out of most items. I was able to snag the last 2 butter croissants and the last ham and cheese croissant. I also got 2 chocolate chip cookies. I had my baby with me and the staff was sooo nice!!! This newest Honey Cup is exceptional in every way from the Calabasas location to the European ambiance to the fabulous food. I had a warmed French bread sandwich filled with meats, cheeses and fig jam and a refreshing lemonade that was surely fresh squeezed! The pastry was incredible (see pic), round, dark and crunchy with a flavorful filling and crispy topping- really unique and tasty! The macaroon towers on display were beautiful and an ideal party idea! Lastly, I met the very personable European Chef Andon.
