On Yelp, three stars means "OK" which is what I think about the New York Red Bulls. They've been…read moreOK. The Red Bulls are one of the 10 original teams to begin Major League Soccer (MLS) play in 1996. In 25 complete seasons, the Red Bulls have zero MLS Cup appearances. However, they have won the Supporters' Shield three times, one shy of the current league record co-held by DC United and LA Galaxy (four shields each). All three of the Red Bulls shields were won in the previous decade: 2013 (59 points), 2015 (60), and 2018 (71). So I guess you can say things have been trending up since 1996. The Red Bulls were at the top of the MLS standings at the conclusion of the 2018 regular season. They were the first-seed in the Eastern Conference. Unfortunately for New York/New Jersey, the Red Bulls lost to the eventual MLS Cup champions that year, Atlanta United FC, in the Conference Finals, 3-1. Atlanta was able to win the MLS Cup in just the team's second year of existence while after two-and-a-half decades, the Red Bulls are still searching for their first MLS Cup appearance. English forward Bradley Wright-Phillips played for the Red Bulls during the 2018 campaign. He was with the team from 2013 to 2019, appearing in 195 games, the most for any club in his career. For five straight seasons (2014-2018), Wright-Phillips was the team's top scorer. He holds team records in both goals scored in a single season (27 in 2014) and all time (125; second place is held by Juan Pablo Angel with less than half: 62). Since 2010, the Red Bulls' home has been "The Fortress," Red Bull Arena, in Harrison, New Jersey. Also referred to as the "Cathedral of American Soccer," Red Bull Arena has a seating capacity of 25,000, making it one of the bigger venues in MLS. It's not among the biggest, though, as at least five other venues have a capacity of 30,000 or higher. The New York Red Bulls were originally known as the New York/New Jersey MetroStars. It wasn't until Red Bull, the energy drink company, purchased the team in 2006 when the team's name was changed to Red Bull New York (a.k.a. New York Red Bulls).

This is the original MLS team that I was fanatical about, and have been following for many years. Of course in my day they were the Metrostars, but my day is no longer the day - however I still I'm a fan and I still root for them a lot, and especially since they moved into this amazing Stadium, I'm kind of jealous because I didn't get to be a fan in these days, just in those days. Of course the stadium is actually not in New York City and not even near it so they really should be the Jersey team because this is the heart of Latin New Jersey. Pretty much right across the river from Newark. It's beautiful and amazing and I'm a huge fan of a team still to this day. I just wish they would have put some titles on the board to match how amazing they were in so many different seasons. They've been nothing but great for the league and especially in the Thierry Henry days and the Bradley Wright-Phillips days - it's been nothing but awesome for this team. But no championships.

Few things are better than a warm summer night and some baseball…read more The Jackals are a member of the Can-Am League, a professional independent baseball league. That means that while they're professional and play at a high level, they have no MLB team affiliations. They play at Yogi Berra Stadium on the campus of Montclair State University. I guess I'll break down my review into different categories so it's easy to browse. BASEBALL This is obviously the most important part - the baseball itself. It is professional baseball, it's entertaining to watch, and sometimes when you just want to go out and watch a game, baseball is baseball. I'm not really sure what I'd equate the skill level to in affiliated minor league baseball, maybe Single-A. The guys are good, and they do sometimes get picked up by MLB teams, almost always for their minor league affiliates, but still. STADIUM Yogi Berra Stadium is nice there's not much to say about it other than that it's an intimate and simple stadium to watch baseball. Everything is well maintained, including the field which looks to be great quality. PRICE The price is one of the best things about the Jackals, and it's why I recommend you check them out even if you aren't the biggest baseball fan or if you're just looking for something to do. Tickets are always super well priced. You can get in and get a good seat for $12, and even the most expensive tickets right behind the plate are only $17. Young kids are free. The concessions are also very well priced - beer, food, everything. They also have daily specials that'll make it even easier on your wallet like Thirsty Thursdays, a true minor league baseball staple, where they've got $1 domestic beers and $2 hot dogs. They've also got fireworks shows post game on Saturdays and often have swag giveaways. Parking is free. OVERALL Overall, I highly recommend checking out a Jackals game. Relax, grab a hot dog and a cold beer, and enjoy some baseball. It's a great activity when you want something to do no matter what your age. It's also a really good activity if you have kids. I'm very happy to live nearby, and I bet you will be too.

But one thing about the Garden no matter where you sit you can see. Don't get me wrong I won't do that again, no more last minute tickets for me. However, I'm glad it worked out. The seats were nice & comfy & the concert was Amazing. But I also wanna shout out the staff at MSG. They were sooo nice and helpful. The people at the food area were nice & the lady serving the drinks by the area of our seats was extra nice. I really appreciated them.

Yeah this team is like The New York Knicks are like a luxury apartment in Manhattan: wildly overpriced, constantly under construction, and somehow living off reputation from the 1970s. Knicks fans treat every decent season like archaeologists discovering a lost civilization. "Look! Competent basketball! We thought it was extinct!" Madison Square Garden calls itself "The World's Most Famous Arena" because nobody can remember the last famous Knicks championship. Being a Knicks fan is a masterclass in optimism. Every October it's "This is our year," and every May it's "At least the Garden was loud." The Knicks are basketball's version of a movie trailer: incredible hype, sold-out crowds, celebrity cameos... and then the actual product starts. The Knicks have spent so long rebuilding that contractors are starting to ask them for permits. Knicks fans talk about 1973 the way historians talk about the Roman Empire--constantly, because nothing that important has happened since. BTW I'm a Spurs fan .
