No stars!!! I have been taking my dogs to this vet for years and they were great UNTIL they changed ownership! Now, it is all about the money I call to get a prescription filled for fleas - i was told I have to schedule an appt so I did. Called today to get something to calm them during upcoming fireworks - again told they would have to be seen in the office first, even though they had just been seen for the flea meds. I have used their services for almost 7 years, and was given the opportunity of taking 2 dogs to their hospital. I have a favorite Doctor there but I must stress that ALL the doctors and ALL the techs are wonderful and caring. I highly recommend, and would tell you to make an appt now. This veterinary hospital does not know how to handle animals that are scared or slightly aggressive. Me and my roommate have four foster puppies from a rescue that were saved from an abuse case and a shelter. This was said to the veterinary staff before the surgeries were completed. The nurses were very difficult to work with and they traumatized our most terrified puppy. This veterinary hospital was unorganized and honestly chaotic. If you are a rescue, I would not recommend bringing your animals here for anything, especially spay and neuter. read more

My dog Jewelie had a dental and mass removal last week and I can't imagine it going more smoothly. There were many caring people involved who walked us through the process and took time to answer my questions. Jewelie rested comfortably once home and was her own self by the next day. She continued to seem very comfortable with good meds to help but not out of it at all. I have never seen such a beautiful job of stitches. There was no redness and little swelling. She has not even been interested in bothering it (with her thunder jacket covering it). The only problem has been keeping her activity low :) She feels great! read more

I am beyond upset. My little fur baby apparently had a seizure. My husband and I scooped her up and went to our Vet quickly as it was 4:45 and I knew they were closing at 5:30. We have been going to Lodi Veternarian Hospital on Lockeford street for 20 years. Well no more. When we arrived I followed the instructions on the door and called and told them I had an emergency as I didn't know what was happening to my baby. (I wanted to burst through the door with my baby) They informed me a tech would come Out as the Dr was getting ready to leave. (45 minutes early mind you) The tech said her gums were pink so she was stable and I could make an appointment for next week (wth??) or If I really wanted her seen today the emergency Vet opens at 6 pm! Oh hell no! I came over to Animal Hospital on Ham Lane and they had no problem seeing her and they are swamped. The Doctor and techs are running in and out to people waiting in their cars, delivering furbabies to their mommies and making sure everyone is taken care of. Everyone has to wait outside and in the pictures you can see people are coming and going. So we are outside while she is having a chest X-ray and some blood work. She has a heart murmur grade 6 on a scale of 6 . Also doing blood work. $738 later. It would of been 3 times that amount Had I'd gone to the emergency Veternarian. Been there, done that! The Veterinarian and staff at Lodi Veternarian have lost their compassion. I'm so done with them! I couldn't believe the Doctor would not even look at her and either reassure me she was fine or give me Bad news! So go home early because you just lost $738! The staff and Doctor at the Animal Hospital have been so kind and caring despite how extremely busy they are. I'll keep you posted on her prognosis read more

Love this place! Used to go to VCA. Didn't love them but loved Dr Allan, who retired. Started going here and they're amazing!! Dr Eaton has seen both of my personal animals as well as many of my fosters, and she's amazing!! Mack usually picks up the phone and she's always so eager to squeeze me into an open slot, even when they're booked up, she's amazing! Dealt with Cathy also a couple times and she's very pleasant to work with! Overall 5 stars. Would recommend. They are good but lost my file only after three years. They are backed up for any appoinments. They can be very rude at times. They are a little over priced and always try to encourage you to take unesscary steps with your animals. I used to be a big fan of this place now not so much. They are nice to animals as far as i know. But if you need to leave them over night they stay locked up in a cage by themselves. read more

One sentence - killed my cat. An injection of opioid painkillers was the thing that sent him Over the edge from a bladder infection. He died in my arms the next day. Came home from work and he was already getting cold, laying in a big puddle of cold urine. Horrific and has scarred me for life. When the tech behind the counter sneers at your inability to pay for high cost food, you should turn around and leave immediately. I wish I had. I started going to Lodi vet in 2013 when Dr Dornton was there. quality vet! Since Dr Webster took over nothing but repeat visits for the same issues. 100.00's of dollars for one simple visit then the new tech didn't do her job properly and they couldn't get me back in for 3 weeks. I was trying to bring my dog in for a bleeding ear and shaking his head they said not till Feb. And told me Monday was for walk ins and emergency only they would be too busy to see him Walk in was for urgent only. His office manger Carrie calls me to say maybe we're not a good fit for Dr Webster. I guess customers are not suppose to get upset at poor service, What happen to quality over quantity ??? Problem was already solved found a better vet that we hopefully get better service and accurate diagnosis. 8 years at this vet 3 dogs and a cat. office manger has no problem solving skills. And Cathy does not choose the proper words to relay what she's trying to say people are already upset their fur baby is not feeling well and it's like oh we'll take what you get! poor communication skills not quality care. all about the dollar. Dr Webster, Your appointment was scheduled not to accommodate it was a drop off and I already told Cathy that was not good I had to work. So your response to my review is inaccurate and meaning less. Okay I have to be honest. I took my baby here and he needed vaccinations, shots, and everything a jumping pup would need. Sadly though our dog started to get sick which we were prescribed some meds which cleared everything up. He then began to not move and walk on only 3 legs. Vet said that he was okay and that we shouldn't worry about any trembling or limping he might have. Within a week or so he developed a film on his eyes which got so bad I had to take him to emergency where we received bad news that our little bundle of joy has a serious underlying health condition (potentially a liver shunt or asphyxiation) which was the cause for his trembling/paralyzation. His health was in such peril that he needed to stay over night and be placed on IV. It all became too much that he needed to be put down. I just wonder if we could have found out sooner his actual health condition ahead of time if we had went to another vet, but I guess we'd never know. We held him in the car as we made the tough decision to put the baby that we nurtured and did everything for down. Here's my opinion. The first thing I questioned was the vets credentials. Very possible that the vet isn't an actual vet at all. 2.) Vet knew that dog would need to come back for visits in near future already knowing his health status from the start. Last thing vet ever said to me was, "if his symptoms continue to worsen bring him back, with that being said he seems comfortable but uncoordinated." read more

Yesterday we had to put our beloved dog Aiko to sleep. Her pain was too unbearable and even when we picked her up she tried to bite because it hurt so much. They were so flexible and they came out to my parents car to put our dog to sleep. It was so nice of them to accommodate us in that fashion. I have been bringing my pets to LVH for several years and can say that without a doubt this is the best and most affordable care you will find for your animals in the area. My dogs have had everything done here: neutering, anesthesia teeth cleaning, shots, medicine Rx's, x-rays, geriatric care, etc. and the price is so fair and affordable! I drive my dogs all the way from Sacramento to see this terrific staff, and am happy to do so because this place is awesome. They are always accommodating and will do whatever they can to squeeze my dogs into the schedule. They were also great when it came time to sending my elderly cat to the rainbow bridge. The staff is super friendly (as are the doctors, too) and they are even better with my pets. Vet costs should not be more than 3x the amount quoted. Let me say that again, vet costs should not be more than 3x the amount quoted. This was an excellent place before Dr. Elaine retired. The new vet will try to recommend and pressure you for every possible service and product. It's completely obvious. While that's I suppose understandable, misleading clients is not acceptable. This last visit we were explicitly quoted a price for services and then told to pay more than 3x the price upon checking out. No additional services were approved, but they were billed anyways. Our dog was not "released' until the bill was paid. The administration of this clinic needs an overhaul. We are seeking a different vet and filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Hands down, this is the best vet I have ever been too. We were visiting from out of town when our dog started acting very atypical. We brought her here and they amazingly were able to see us as one of their walk-ins, we waited less than a hour, and left with a diagnosis of hyperthyroidism. I had to go to Dr. Dorton. It wasn't by choice. If it were, I would have stuck with my vet. But due to the situation, I had to go to her. When I arrived her staff was very kind. Had me fill out some papers, and showed me to the exam room. However, I noticed they had the wrong person listed as owner on my pets paperwork. I asked them four times to remove it. They still have not. Dr. Dorton came in, discussed very little with me. And then told me information that was not fact finding, or proven in any medical study anywhere in the US. When I asked where she based her facts from, she was insulted and said she could no release that information to me. However, based on CA law's, if she is siting a medical research as a basis of her practice, she has to release where she gained this information so her patient can educate themselves appropriately. And Im sorry, but taking a Dr. word for it isnt appropriate. At the end of our very quick meeting, in which she did NOT put her hands on my pet, weigh my pet, take the temp of my pet, she said, "Well, ya know, surgery does need to be done. its about $800." She only cared about the money. I told her I didnt feel comfortable with doing the surgery until I researched what she had told me (when I got home I researched, her information is wrong. Couldn't find anything to validate it). The following week I asked for something in writing to help me along with my pets health. She refused to put anything in writing, and when she did agree, she played on words. Apparently Dr. Dorton is a fraud. She tells you one thing to get you to spend money, but refuses to stick by her word when it comes down to it. I regret not having a witness. Beware! Research your vets office in more detail. I will NEVER take my animal here. Ever ever ever. Sucks that I was forced to take my pet here. But NEVER again. read more
