After a devastating experience at another hospital where she was refused basic care despite having a high fever and being severely dehydrated, I was heartbroken and scared. They demanded over $1,000 before even giving her fluids, and I left feeling helpless. The moment I called Vineyard, everything changed. The receptionist was compassionate, empathetic, and immediately got us in after hearing my concerns. From the very first interaction, I knew they truly cared. We drive from Rio Vista to get to Vineyard Vets (45 min drive). They have taken care of our girl on several times and two surgeries. When it is emergent they find a way to fit her in. The care and compassion is far superior to what we have found at other vets around us. The entire staff is very aware of the stress that we are going through and offer care and concern. Over the last 10 years, I've brought 4 different dogs to this vet and use to receive exceptional care and service. However it has declined in the last couple years. Our most recent visit was our last. I my dog had to get some foxtails removed, a procedure was done, and I paid the bill. I was told to come back in two weeks to get the sutures removed free of charge. When I arrived to get them removed, the wound hadn't been healing well. They took my dog in the back so that the doctor can take a look at them. The sutures were removed, but they had also charged me for another procedure for removing a foxtail they missed the first time. I had no prior knowledge to this procedure until it was done and I was billed for it. Plus it doesn't seem fair to me for paying for something they didn't do right the first time. Excellent [first] visit for my senior boy. He got one tooth pulled during his dental cleaning, sent home with some goodies and also had his nails cut. Though costs and what's "affordable" varies from person to person, I found the estimate a little intimidating but still more reasonable compared to a previous vet's estimate. The final cost was even better and made me very, very happy. Each staff member I interacted with was very nice, professional and empathetic to my worries by answering all my questions. In the initial dental exam, the doctor gave a solid effort to thoroughly look at his teeth, compared to the previous place I'd taken him for an exam. Needed to find a new veterinarian as our former office was sold to new owners and we've not heard good things about the change. It has been a few years since our clan of Chihuahuas needed any care. I asked a good friend who has been a vet tech where she would recommend I go. She said she highly recommended the team here at Vineyard veterinary. I called first thing on Monday morning and they just happen to have a cancellation and got me in right away. Having to put down a 16-year-old member of the family is not a good way to try out a new place, but they were very accommodating and extremely understanding and caring. Took our reactive, full energy dog to this vet to get neutered. He had complications (no fault of the vets) and these ladies were so patient with me and all of my worries. They really seemed to care about my best bud. A second procedure and (I lost count) visits later, our boy is doing great. I am one relieved doggy mama. Bubba was sneezing uncontrollably with blood spraying out of his nose with almost every sneeze. I suspected a foxtail which can be life threatening. Vineyard vet got me right in as soon as I called in the morning. Dropped him off at mid morning and was told he could be picked up 2-4. They were calm which helped me have confidence they had dealt with this before. They ended up extracting TWO foxtails. One from nose and one in ear. I am so relieved and bubba is home resting comfortably after his out patient surgery. Very fair price being under $300 which included a rabies vaccine plus a huge bonus they clipped his nails while he was sedated(he hates it and it's hard to do). We were looking for a new vet for our cats/ kittens during covid -19. We had 3 litters of kittens and have specific needs due to breed (Sphynx). I called around and found Vinewood vets in Lockeford: 1. I asked if they could accommodate us with "kill vaccines " 2. early spay/neuter, with no ketamine ( Not safe for Sphynx). The office was very nice and ordered "kill vaccines", said ESN at 3lbs+ and do not use ketamine. During the first visit Dr. Vince T. Piatt was great the office staff loved my kitties ‍ and went well. I then made the next appointment for the 2nd set of vaccines for 3 weeks later and spay/neuter appointments 2 weeks after that. Some of our kittens are bambino's and run smaller then the standard Sphynx. I asked if the family who I placed them with if they could come at a later date for the spay/neuter when these specific kittens got bigger, I would pay for it. Was told "not a problem". Took my kittens for the 2nd set of vaccines no issues everything went well. Took them for the spays / neuter and when I looked at the paperwork when I got home they used ketamine!?! I expected them to be honest! I was very concerned and waited until the next 1st visit with my 2nd litter. This was with a different vet Dr. Rebecca Eaton and she said it was a myth about ketamine and was not very adamant about it. I decided not to argue about it since it was already done. I did talk to the receptionists with "great customer service" and she informed me that Dr. Vince T. Piatt did not use Ketamine and he does his surgeries on Tuesday/ Thursdays and we would just do spay/neuters on those days. Went to my car and realized we had a appointment on 2/3 for spay/neuters for my 2nd litter ran back in to check if it was with the correct vet. She said it was so I went home. The next day I realize the appointment was on a Wednesday and it was the wrong day ( Ketamine). This is when it all turned all BAD! I called and ended up talking to " Shasta " office manager. I explained to her what my concerns. I had a family flying In from Florida already scheduled 2 weeks after one of the kittens neuter and the other family took a vacation around pick up of the other 2 kittens that was scheduled for the 2/3 spay/ neuters and that Dr. Rebecca Eaton used ketamine. Instead of asking the scheduled vet not to use ketamine or find a accommodating date with Dr. Vince T. Piatt, that would work with my family flying in from Florida and gives the kitten the required healing time. I got a call back from Shasta saying that Dr. Vince T. Piatt said "they no longer want to do business with me"and they won't finish the vetting with the litters already on there schedule. I'm a registered, licensed Cattery and this unprofessional affects my business. I would never recommend anyone to do business with a vet office that you can't express your concerns with on a dangerous anesthesia (ketamine) with your breed and instead of accommodating you with what they "promised and verified "to call and say " we no longer will do business with you " at the last minute. This not only put my adopted family's in a bad position but my reputation. I was only looking for a vet office for my 3 litters of kittens until my regular vet office recover's from covid. I work with several vets and vet offices in the area and this was the absolute worst, very unprofessional. I highly recommend family's to find a vet office that is professional and you can trust. I strongly suggest never to use Vinewood as they don't keep there promises or value there clients. We have such Amazing Vet offices like " Mokelumne River " ( they don't do ESN ) but are amazing. I even had Dr. Beth take a kitten home overnight to tube feed every 2 hours, a vet who really cares! Dr. Beth and Dr. Jan always returned your phone calls with such professionalism, caring and with all the answers to your questions. Dr. Allen in Woodbridge is also amazing. Cherokee Vet is also amazing and caring, professional and even does follow up calls. read more

This visit has been terrible. My family has taken cats and dogs to them in the past and went alright. I took my two cats to them to get fixed. Quoted me $250 per cat to get fixed which isn't terrible at the moment. Took them in and got fixed then got hit with an extra $75 per cat cause they were "in heat". Neither one of them were in heat what so ever. Didn't argue it just glad it was done. 3 days later our one cat is swollen pretty bad. Following day her stomach opens up. She had a cone on also with a onesie when she needs a break. Also she is not moving much at all. Tried calling the vet with no response and no call back. Opens up more and starts to have discharge. This ended up being on a weekend we had to wait till Monday to take her in. She did not lick it, being to active with it, and it was not messed with by anything else. Took her back and got hit with $280 for them to put her back under and clean it out. Paid it cause alright maybe something happened. A week later now and our other cat has an infection and abscess on her stomach. She is completely healed but with this nasty looking abscess. She has been extremely quiet, hiding, and not having much to do with food or water. We asked the vet about this when we took the first cat back. She says "oh it's normal, my cat did it. She will come around". Obviously she didn't. A infection 4x larger than the original area. Vet tells us on the phone we need to look after her better and she should have been brought in by her behavior which we were told wasn't a big deal. Go to pick up the second cat and question this. "How does this happen to both our cats and what causes this." The one vet replies "you got lucky". Glad I got lucky with around $1000 in vet bills, two infected cats, and having to see them in pain all over again and hoping they can beat these infections. Was not a good experience here and would advise anyone to find somewhere else to help your animals. read more

Was told they weren't taking any new clients (good for them, I guess) - and even if they were, they wouldn't do a nail trimming "due to exposure." Last time I was at Vineyard Veterinary Hospital, it was the initial complimentary visit upon the adoption of "Joe" from Animal Friends Connection, a pet adoption agency, in Lodi, CA. I reassured the receptionist that Joe had been there before... and she eventually found Joe's medical documents. When I entered VVH early this week, there was a family with their alley-cat cat... a huge dark-haired cat. Why I mention this is that there is a cat which passes by my backyard every morning and afternoon looking for mice, I presume. When Joe sees it, he just goes crazy... barking like mad. And, the cat in the waiting area at VVH kinda resembles the neighborhood cat... I said to myself "Joe, you'd better watch it! That cat is twice as big as you are!". I tightened my grip on Joe's leash... ready for anything.... I needn't have worried... Joe kept his composure... shocked the heck out of me! I guess there was a disconnect between the City of Lodi and the Hospital in that there was a mix-up of what kind of Rabies shot Joe initially received before adoption... the City of Lodi listed it as a 3-year shot, and VVH had it as only a 2-year shot. So... Joe could only receive a 1-year shot on this visit. Cost for Rabies Vaccination: $12.00 Very clean Veterinary Hospital, efficient, friendly, professional. Afterwards, I walked Joe around the front of the Veterinary Hospital as he doesn't get out to the Country very often. We brought our Staffy here to be spayed. Everyone is very kind and understands that this is a serious choice to make for your loved one. Excellent care and concern for you and your pet. Our girl was back to normal after 3 days but of course we have watched her carefully for the recommended 2 weeks. One of the interesting things is the outer incision is glued so you don't have to come back for stitch removal just keep it dry for 2 weeks. I highly recommend this Vet to everyone. I came in most recently to get my dogs ready for the process of moving to Hawaii- which is a nightmare. Putting the summarization first, Dr. Vince Piatt is a wonderful, Veterinarian. Caring and compassionate. About five days ago, my miniature dachshund mix was attacked. We took her straight to Dr. Piatt. We couldn't get her out of the car, so my mom went into the office to ask for help. Not only did the nurse come out, but he came out as well, to help get Buffy from the car. He was gentle, and seemed genuinely worried about both Buffy and my mom. After giving Buffy an antibiotic and pain shots, along with medicine to take home, he didn't stop there. He sat with my mom and I and discussed what happened. During this time, he was supposed to start on neuter and spay surgeries, but he insisted on making sure everything with Buffy was all right. My mom say's he's one of God's angels, and honestly I have to agree. There's no one more caring or compassionate than Dr. Piatt himself. read more

Our puppy was adopted from a home rescue group in Stockton, which came with a "free" spaying at Vineyard Veterinary Hospital. Not knowing anything about the vet, we were nervous to show up in Lodi and leave our dog with a random office. The first address I was given, right of the 5 was wrong, and I showed up at an empty, sort of gross vet office in a office park. I contemplated driving home, but called them instead and discovered they'd moved to a much nicer office, off one of the country roads outside Lodi. Once I arrived at the new office, my concerns were assuaged. The office is beautiful and the staff was very friendly and sweet to my dog. They gave me an estimated time to pick her up and said they'd call when she was ready. My husband actually picked her up, so I can't comment on that experience, but the pup recovered well from her surgery, and came home with a cute bandanna they'd put around her neck (which she happily wore for weeks afterward). While we won't be driving back to Lodi to go to the vet (we live in Sacramento), they seem great, and if I lived in the area, we'd probably be return customers. read more

I've been bringing my Yellow Lab into Dr. Vince for the last year or so and I couldn't be happier with the service. He is very personable and takes very good care of every animal that gets brought to him. You can tell from your visit's with him that he treats the animals like family. He also doesn't try to sell you products that you don't need. I once asked him if i should buy the "bison" dog food he sells at the shop and he told me it wasn't any better than something I could get at pet co for 1/2 the price. He is patient with you and will sit and answer any questions you have for him. I could sit here and write pages about how amazing Dr. Vince is, but just trust me, bring your animals to him and you wont regret it. read more

Super disappointed with customer service at this vet. I called to request an appointment after several referrals from clients stating that this vet was wonderful and accommodating. Unfortunately that wasn't my experience. I stated I was looking for a new vet due to my normal vets retiring, my pets sick and I need someone to check him out. I was told, basically to go elsewhere, because they aren't seeing new patients due to covid 19. So basically during some of the most stressful times for people, you're also told that the vet won't help your sick pet either. Awesome customer service. I'll be sure and tell my 10 clients who referred me to your establishment, that they should find a new vet who is actually willing to help in a crisis. My lab is around 10 years old, and though she has no issues I wanted to get her checked out to make sure! I made an appointment here and I'm SO glad I did. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and Dr. Eaton is wonderful. She did an exam for my pup and was very thorough, and didn't push any unnecessary tests. We did a full blood panel and got the results back quicker than expected, and Dr. Eaton did an amazing job at explaining everything and giving extra advice on how to keep my dog healthy and happy.
