Worst haircut ever!!!!! I went in to loft 109 to get a haircut and instead got a disaster that looks like something a child playing with clippers would do. It's uneven, not blended, and absolutely horrible in every way. On top of that the person that did it was rude and ignorant. This place was completely unprofessional. I asked for a very basic, simple style and that proved to be too much for this place. I would have gotten a better haircut just throwing a 20 out the window. I booked an "Ultimate Package" (a $100 Service) with "KevinTheProdigy" and all seemed well at first. Towards the end of my haircut I felt a burning sensation in the back of my head and informed him that I felt like I was cut. He told me I wasn't bleeding and continued the cut. When I got home I was cut and there was fry blood in three places of my head/face. When I reached out to Kevin via text sending photos and of my injuries and asked how we'd rectify the situation he apologized and stated he'd give me a discount on my next service. When I expressed that I was uncomfortable receiving services with him and also asked for a refund he agreed. I sent him my Zelle information and he sent me back a $10 refund. $10?! FOR CUTTING ME UP? As salon manager salon, Salon/Barbershop etiquette is that if a guest is cut and in this case in multiple cases a FULL REFUND is the only suitable resolution . DO NOT BOOK SERVICE KEVIN!!!!! All he cares about is money. His craft, name and reputation aren't. I am so disappointed and frustrated that I spent $100 on a less than amateur experience. I don't know where to begin as I'm still in total shock of the awful treatment I received from my regular barber Rob Houston due to a lack of communication issue that could have been easily sorted out. Unfortunately the situation turned sour on his part by him flying off the handle accusing me of treating him like a "servant" (which is false being I've always been VERY loyal and good to him knowing how he's one at times who's very aggressive and short tempered in his persona), and hung up the phone on me several times after trying to explain certain things as he was just awfully nasty, temperamental, rude, and arrogant in his delivery. What's worse is I flew back to Atlanta from LA on my way to Ft. Lauderdale for a couple of days for him to do my hair specifically, and he just ups and cancels the appointment leaving me in a bad position with my hair looking horrible saying I stress him out (which isn't true either as he never indicated this to me as if I have then why would he have continued business with me or communicated this before we booked) being it seems to me he must have been having an awfully bad day or something traumatic happened being I've never known of Rob to be so mean and cold-blooded like this as normally he's very understanding, friendly, and down-to-earth. I'm not only angry and hurt by such a harsh dismissal, but also heart-broken of how nasty he treated me and just unkindly tossed me away being I came a long way for him to do my hair, and he just treated me like crap over some misunderstandings that could have been worked out and communicated in a calm fashion, but he had to take it to whole different level to where an altercation occurred to where he just up and dismissed me and my appointment that put me in a bad position. He was suppose to do my hair on Thursday at 7pm as my flight to FTL leaves out the next day for a family Christmas function. His attitude was "There are plenty of barbers you can go to - have them to do your hair, and thank you for your service - we're good - I'm going home to my wife as you can't make me do your hair as I'm self-employed, and my own boss". He wasn't trying to listen to reason of the fact that I flew back home to Atlanta on my way to Ft. Lauderdale specifically for him to do my hair as agreed on the appointment we set before my flight left for ft. Lauderdale the next day. It was just awful as he made a serious bad move thinking he can just wrong me or anyone for that matter in such a demeaning manner, and thinking he's gonna get away with it. You just don't treat people like that, and not think they're re no consequences when someone can write a bad review like this as what he did and said to me is behind unprofessional and unethical being I've been of a loyal client for a very long time, and always treated him with respect(even when he can a little too aggressive in his approach with certain things, but always stuck by him). He won't have to worry about seeing me there at the shop anymore nor my high profile friends in entertainment industry and in the Atlanta community I recommended to him and the shop in general, and have been for years. Kev the Prodigy gave me the worst $30 cut in my adult life. Just terrible. Was late to start. Cut my forehead without a word. An awful blend of my hair. Just an all-around bad cut. Rob gave me a hair cut, as he puts it, like one of the Kungfu stars. That wasn't really my style but it's not bad. Barbers there are patient and careful. Will go back next time. Booked an appointment with "Kevin The Prodigy" to get a cut. 2hrs later I received a text from him stating that,"Just letting you know prices holiday cuts are double the price"... Of course it Atlanta's Pride Week‍so price gounging is going to be abundant but I actually need a haircut for WORK,not to club or do frivolous non productive things. I didn't respond because my intentions were to keep the appointment and pay it forward. However, shortly afterwards I get a notification that Kevin cancelled the appointment without asking (the text he sent was to INFORM as it wasn't a question if I was comfortable paying his convoluted price). The sheer unprofessional of him doing that without asking clients is unnerving. Here I am looking for a new barber because my current one(7 year client)is moving out of state and to be already dealing with nonsense. But thankful this happen prior and I encourage others NOT to do business with him. read more

I went to Loft 109 wanting to get a texturizer done for my hair. I met Phyliss, a female barber and stylist at the shop. After telling her what I wanted she immediately told me that I should instead have my hair twisted. She charged a fair price of $40.00. I was hesistant but was eventually convinced. Two days later, after following all of her instructions, my hair was not as we agreed. I contacted Phyliss to let her know, I told her that I wanted to get the texturizer as originally planned. We scheduled a time to meet, she was being a little short with me after arriving and throughout the service. After finishing, my hair was as I wanted but she charged me $35.00 and told me she was discounting it since it would regularly be $45.00. I thought that was insulting and unaccaptable since the original style was her idea that she would charge me once again for what I originally wanted. The shop experience was okay as I could walkin without any difficulty, but I was disappointed by her quality of service and integrity. read more

After ten years with the same stylist - ROB HOUSTON my favorite stylist and friend took our friendship for granted and used a melted flat iron on my hair. When I addressed it with him, he replied "It got your hair straight, didn't it?" Wow. So rather than confront him, I just never went back. Fast forward several months later when I saw him in the market. He asked me why I had not been back and when I reminded him of what he said he completely denied it. He seemed to want to argue about it and when I refused he told said "that was what my problem in life was" and stomped off. Oh well. The moral of the story is do not become friends with your stylist and don't stay too long because with certain individuals "familiarity breeds contempt" - too bad Rob.
