Clean, well lit and great service too. I think my only objection is the menu board is a little hard to read. We had sandwiches, soup and protein bowls - All excellent! Lots of food in the protein bowls and appealing to look at. The tortilla soup and sandwiches were tasty as well. Everything tasted fresh and portions were generous. 1st time here and I am glad I stopped. It is a faster food joint, but i am sure one could stay a while. I believe they have some beers. The place was busy on a Friday, but it is the Dells in the summer! I asked Ryan to chose my meal. I think it is Ryan, it said on the receipt. What great suggestion. Thank you!! Outstanding! We recently stopped by Tommy Salami's for lunch with a group of five. It's an order at the counter and they'll bring your food to your table situation. They have a variety of sandwiches, soups, and salads. I ordered a half sandwich, half salad meal (I could have also gotten half sandwich/half soup). For my sandwich I don't remember the name of the sandwich but it came on their waffle bread (basically tasted like white bread with a waffle pattern on it) with turkey, bacon, tomato, avocado, and pesto. It was flavorful, balanced, and delicious. For my salad, I got the chicken caesar salad. It came lightly dressed with an ample amount of juicy white meat chicken. The dining room was impeccably clean and our orders came out quickly. Everything was so tasty and fresh. Truly this place is such a gem and a wonderful addition to the casual dining scene in the Dells. Get to it! read more

Might be my favorite sandwich stop. Husband now wants to stop here every time we pass through this area. We split The Italian. Husband added a cup of broccoli cheddar to his order. It was so GOOD! Loaded with meat and fresh toppings and lovely toasted ciabatta bread made this sandwich excellent. Lots of table seating. Patio for warmer days. Easy path on/off freeway. Service was excellent. There was one person handling the orders, bussing, etc and he was great. So welcoming for our first visit while we decided what we wanted. Great stop. read more

Stopped by while enroute to Minneapolis. Hungry for soup or salad and the menu looked good. It's just off the freeway, which is very convenient. When you enter, you walk straight ahead to the counter to order. It has a large dining area with plenty of natural light from the large windows. The design is upbeat and fun. When we arrived, around 1pm, there were only a few small groups. We got to order right away, a couple of salads and iced tea. They give you a number placard, which you take to the table, and then they deliver the food. The server was pleasant and helpful. It was cold and windy outside, and unfortunately it wasn't much warmer inside. We went to find a table somewhere warm and not made colder by the doors that led directly outside, since there is no vestibule. No luck, the place was just cold. Good thing I had my knit hat. After a short while, we got our two salads. I got the Empire Pecan Salad, and my partner got the Southwest Chicken Salad. They looked great. Plenty of mixed ingredients, good portions, and everything was fresh. Much of the time when you get a good salad, it's only the top layer and everything below is lettuce. These salads were full of tasty stuff all the way to the bottom. Might be one of the best salads I have had in this class of restaurants. So our visit was mixed. The food was very good, but it was so cold inside that it made things uncomfortable. Even though we were away from the front door, there is a side door that people kept exiting from, and the cold air just blew right through the place. When passing through on 94 we generally avoid stopping in the Dells for meals, especially on weekends. The quickest options are generally fast food chains geared towards kids (for obvious reasons) and they tend to be crazy on the weekends. We took a chance on Tommy Salami's yesterday on a summer Sunday at lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised and impressed. While there was a steady stream of customers, the wait was short and there was plenty of seating. We were pleasantly greeted by a young lady at the counter. She gave me several of her favorites when asked, one of which I selected. Our food came quickly, delivered by a friendly gentleman that appeared to be the owner or manager. The sandwiches were fresh and flavorful. The restaurant and restrooms were spotless. I'd highly recommend...we'll for sure stop back next time we are through town. read more

Oh my gosh, we just had takeout from Tommy Salami's and it was sooo good. First let me tell you the kids' meals surpassed our expectations. Two of my kids got the cheese pizza and the other got chicken tenders. They each got a choice of applesauce or chips, a drink, and a cup of fresh berries (blueberries and strawberries). This was a lot more bang for our buck than I was expecting (especially in a tourist town). My husband and I got subs that were packed with fresh ingredients (I'm still thinking about the herb mayo on the Italian Job). We were commenting that this far surpassed the taste and quality of Jersey Mikes (and we are fans of Jersey Mikes) and it's about the same price point! Recently going out to eat is a set of compromises, price, size, quality.....just became better to eat at home. And honestly eating out became miserable unless we have to......until now, found the diamond in the rough. It's great to experience an entrepreneur that is building a business that actually gets all of our realities, and while still dealing with inflation and costs like the rest of us. I was amazingly surprised, especially in the dells. The owner and staff is amazing, the prices were reasonable, service was excellence, they really have their own niche. And the place was clean. This isn't full dinner restaurant, and for its place in the market, it's amazing. The part I loved is the quality and sizes, while most places are shrinking sizes and raising prices, Tommy has found a nice balance between the two. Even the kids dishes didn't taste like processed frozen food found in the local freezer section. Finally a place that I can enjoy our meal when we're in town, without having the need to take out a loan for one decent sandwich. Excellent sandwiches!! I saw all the good reviews and decided we had to try it while in town. It clearly didn't disappoint. I shelled out the $ for the New Yorkster (#6) and it was completely worth it. It's a classic pastrami and corned beef on rye with tons of meat on it! I really couldn't critic it. I liked the thin slice on the meat and the flavors were on point. My wife got the Italian Job (which I tried and wow). The deli meat they're using here is high quality, it's much better than Potbelly's, Jimmy Johns, etc. My father in law got the Brooklyn Dip which also looked great, I didn't try it since I had a lot on my hands w the #6. Considering he didn't look up from his sandwich the entire time, I'd say he liked it. The inside of the restaurant was nice and clean with plenty of space. I love the branding and think it's comical. The staff - which I could only assume was Tommy himself - was incredibly nice and you could tell he was passionate about his business. TLDR - if you're in the area, prioritize this place!!!
