Even at restaurants with mediocre service/food I always tip well. However, my table of five mutually decided after having the the male and female greeters/hostesses at the front give our table dirty looks the entire time we ate, made us feel so unwelcome for no reason we couldn't even eat our food in peace, AND caught the female with glasses mock a man with special needs, we definitely decided to never return to this place. We were so uncomfortable we got up at the end of our meal to ask the woman why she was glaring at multiple other tables for no reason and of course she scurried off to the back of the restaurant when she saw us get up. Walked in to the host wearing a dirty Carhartt sweatshirt, asked for my reservation for 16, which I understand is a lot, and he rolled his eyes followed by sliding the tablet to his coworker who rolled her eyes and tried to talk down to me, even after I offered to split our group into two groups of 8. She proceeded to tell me that she has another larger party coming in an hour and can't seat us, or we will have to wait until after the large party is finished. My buddies and I stopped here a couple of weeks ago on our way to Lancaster. What a terrible place. My brother and I ordered the French dip sandwich. We were served a cold roast beef sandwich with no dip. Upon asking the waitress where our dip is, she stated they didn't have it today. So basically she just gave us a roast beef sandwich. She then went into the back and brought out the dip. The meat was nasty. Way too salty. The fries were cold and mushy. My buddy asked for a Stella beer and the waitress said they had no more and brought him his next choice. She then tells us they do have Stella after he started to drink the other beer. I've been to this Logan's about a dozen times. We've had some good experiences and some that... well, weren't quite so good. And yet, I'm still giving Logan's a 4. Why? In one instance, management not only made it right, but went above and beyond to make it right. They not only covered our meal, but allowed to order dessert and drinks without charging for them. They recognized that we were regular customers, and wanted to keep our business. That's good service, and the kind of service I look for (even if Logan's is a chain, it's the local management that makes it rise or fall). It's service like that which will keep me going back. How's the food? Delicious. I've not tried any one item on their menu that really left me disappointed or unsatisfied. The steaks have all been cooked well, and the sides and portions are generous (I'm a big guy, still have trouble finishing everything). If I can make any one recommendation: veggie skewers. GET THE VEGGIE SKEWERS. These are freakin' amazing, hands down. I hate vegetables, but when these arrive on my plate they're the first to go. Sorry, butterfly shrimp. You're good, but not THAT good. Except to drop about $15-20 per person. It's not cheap, but not really expensive either. Just watch out for coupon days. The only downside (for me) is the atmosphere. I do not like peanuts, and the entire building is a graveyard of shelled bodies strewn across the floor. Nut allergists beware. I'm not really a fan of the "throw your scraps to the floor" mentality, but... to each their own. Still, this is a really minor quibble. read more

Our very first visit and certainly our LAST. The staff is friendly and there was no wait for a table. That should have been a sign. I'm sure the customers that were there were shopping locally. There was three of us, each ordered different things from the menu. The "grilled pork chops" were freezer burnt, far from fresh and no other flavor than beyond expiration date. My husband's burger was so greasy, the bottom of his bun was soaked and soggy. The potato soup had very cold fatty bacon added to the top. And the third platter was the fish, very overcooked fish. Their fresh fries were also frozen fries. Really, how hard is it to cut fresh potatoes. But nothing here is fresh. We will never return. Fillet arrived pressed down to the size of a fast-food burger patty and was Past well done, broccoli was baby-food mush, and the fries had been soaking in butter and inedible. When it finally showed up, it was rare and unseasoned. I'm like fine, ill salt and pepper it myself, and try to eat the outside, but it was so gross. It was more tough than a sirloin/London broil, and had a weird chemical taste. Broccoli was mush again, and no longer had appetite for potatoes. I wont be back. Reading other reviews on here, I now believe they not only ran out of fillets, but quietly tried to serve me a sirloin or something else. And They CANT cook a steak. We ordered two sirloins both medium rare. One was medium rare the second was medium well. How do you do that? I was never offered any rolls, which Logan's prides themselves on the fresh made rolls. The service was terrible, Ces disappeared for 15 minutes at a rip. We thought we'd try this place on Labor Day. We were a table of 6. The waitress was wonderful!! We were greeted with "there are no rolls". We ordered Sliders and then again informed that there are "no rolls for the sliders". Baked Potato skins, Onion rings and Shrooms were very good. The boneless wings were a small portion but good. Dinner we had steaks, chicken and ribs all pretty good. Dessert...here we go again. No cookies for the cookie sundae. Most of us got the brownie sundae. The ice cream was completely melted, no marshmallows or walnuts and the brownie was bland. One and done, we won't be back. This was quite a disappointing dinner. This exit is our usual stop going from MD to NY, so we decided to try Logan's. Should have known what to expect with a mostly empty restaurant on a Friday night. I ordered the "grilled" meatloaf with broccoli and a sweet potato, my wife ordered the salmon. We waited a long time for dinner to come out and it arrived without the potatoes. It was "in the microwave heating up". That arrived a few minutes later, not fully cooked with a few marshmallows on it and maybe a teaspoon of melted brown sugar. The meatloaf was good but had none of the mesquite flavor you would expect from being grilled. My wife enjoyed The first few bites of the salmon but after cutting it open saw that it wasn't cooked. We alerted our waitress who said she would talk to a manager. She asked us if we would like the food recooked. We declined we wanted to get back on the road. We were offered free desserts to make up for the inedible food items. We declined, and we're still charged for the food we couldn't eat. I feel Logan's has gone downhill lately, including our last visit. I can say though, our waitress was very friendly and tried to fix everything she could...she was the best part about the visit. We had gotten the combo appetizer which did not come out with the right items, once situated everything did taste good though and prepared well. We never got our salads until after our entress when the waitress realized they were forgotten (which seemed watery), along with the bread being forgotten. When it came to the entrees, my chicken was actually cooked very good and still juicy on the inside. Place was not all that clean, we ordered an extra side, and it never arrived, the shrimp was burnt, and tasteless, our waitress never checked back to see if everything was alright, the crab cakes were SO SPICY HOT that was all that you tasted. First and foremost, the restaurant was FREEZING! When I asked the hostess if the air could be turned down, she laughed and said, "I know; everyone complains about it. It's just the way it is. It's actually much colder at other tables". I found that hard to believe. The waitress, who was very nice, took exceptionally long to take our order since she was so overwhelmed serving other customers. I get the staffing shortage (the bar wasn't even open due to this.) When my father's sirloin steak came, it was half the size of my filet, although there was no mention on the menu that it was "petite". The manager came over and apologized for their supplier, then graciously offered to remove it from the bill.
