My father and I both got the 7oz Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The food was amazing. The service, not so much. I'm guessing she was a fairly new server. I get checking in maybe twice throughout the meal, but it was constant. About every 5-10 minutes she was asking if everything was good. It got annoying. When we asked for a Togo box, it took her about 12 minutes to bring us a box. By then, we were ready to leave so we asked for the check. I always come here at least once every visit back home. It's nostalgic and my go to meal of Mesquite Wood Grilled Chicken or Pork Chops is always on point . In general the food is always as expected so no surprises! Service is always friendly, welcoming and attentive. Usually I am happy with this restaurant. However, today I tried their beef tip skewer, accompanied with rice and a ring of pineapple. For the two sides I got a dinner salad and steamed broccoli. All the sides including pineapple and rice were good. I got three small skewers of steak, each skewer had literally two bite-sized pieces of meat on them, a total of six pieces. One of those pieces was not edible, just fat and tissue. The remaing five pieces were drenched in some type of BBQ sauce that was not to my liking and not as described on the menu. In all the service was good, the bread was good, the sides were good, but the beef steak skewers were pretty bad; not enough portion wise (Scooby Doo sized) and not tasty at all. Food was not good. We got a center cut sirloin that was very thin and mangled looking. Not a good quality cut of meat at all. There is NO way it was a sirloin. I ordered crab cakes after asking waiter and told how good they were. They were so bad! Tasted like fish sticks, no taste of crab at all and smelled like fish not crab! I had several people smell and taste as well, everyone said they were nasty and tasted just like a frozen fish stick. I told the waiter and he said he'd let the chef know but never apologized or offered us anything else. When the bill came I received no discount and I couldn't eat any of the meal. We were never offered drink refills and waited a very long time to order and receive food even though it wasn't that busy. There was trash and a butter dish under the table, the table was sticky and I was given a Diet Coke instead of regular, not a big deal except the waiter took the coke and set it behind me up on the ledge where anyone could have bumped it and gotten coke all over me. I was having a long day at work and decided to check out this place for lunch and see what they had for lunch specials. I had heard BBQ was the main thing you could find at this place and that was exactly what I was craving. Service: the lady that was taking care of my table was ready to take my order and make suggestions, which is exactly what you need when in hurry for lunch. She also made sure my sweet tea was constantly filled which is the way to my heart! Food: I had the PORK TRIFECTA, which was a combination of pork, brisket, and sausage, which was a combination, made in heaven! The breads were good to start taking care of your hunger as soon as you get there but I do have to say I have had better buns. The most surprising thing about this Logan's location is that despite having sworn to Holy Jesus that we would never go back again, after many months the decision was made to take a chance - a decision that will live on in infamy it turns out. Had been frequenting this location for years and slowly but surely, food quality and service nose dived. Our last visit had us sitting with incorrectly cooked steak and a server that was openly hostile accusing me of ordering the steak well-done, which word have never been uttered from my talk-hole in my entire life except to say, "What are you, crazy? No one orders a steak well-done.." So basically, I was ready to take the guy outside and stomp his goofy-ass.. only my calmer, more patient better half stopped me. I apologize to the word openly, because there is still a mentally handicapped, quick to anger server running around South Texas as a result. Indeed, having missed the opportunity to elbow this guy in the jaw a few times still haunts me and will certainly continue to do so for many years to come. That experience should have been enough, however we ran back by for some kind of quite bite and of course, they totally ruined it again. I played it safe and ordered a chicken sandwich and was amazed at what showed up on my plate - suffice it to say, that the execution of the meal was as if someone in corporate sent out a memo to the restaurant expressly telling them to do everything they could possible to drive off anyone who ever even THOUGHT of ordering a chicken sandwich.. The sandwich itself looked as if they dragged it tied to a truck for 10 miles, put it on a plate with a crappy piece of cheese and said, "order up!" Logan's is another location meant for a large quantity of mediocre food. This specific location however has on many occasion let me down in terms of service and quality. It took very long on a dead day to bring us our orders. The servers are fun but make mistakes frequently. Even the managerial staff makes mistakes, an example of this being when they brought us a baked potato (that they forgot to place the order for in the first place) instead of a loaded sweet potato (the original thing we asked for). Despite the charming atmosphere and relatively cheap options nothing makes up for the quality of service. I'd love to give this Logan's a 4/5 but the service issue is a recurring thing. We have been here a few times and have the found this restaurant to be clean with a friendly and service oriented staff. Lots of people love Logan's Roadhouse, we're just not one of them. We been here half a dozen times, mainly when we have coupons, and just haven't found any dishes or steaks that we just crave and want to go back and eat time and time again. It is kid friendly with a children's menu and we've never had any problems any time we have been here, like I said basically, we've just never found anything we love or find great about Logan's Roadhouse (in reference to the food). I like to treat myself to a ribeye every now and then so imagine my disappointment when I cut into mine and it was room temperature at best! It wasn't even that busy so I don't know what the deal was. The flavor was ok but the look of it was odd... a bit grey. It was also tough. My sides (rice and mushroom) while good were also room temperature. I didn't have time to ask then to heat it up because we were on a work break plus I don't want it overcooked. It was my friend's first time there and he was not impressed. I don't think Logan's is keeping up with the competition, but maybe it's because Harlingen doesn't have a whole lot of eateries. Where do I begin. Good thing was there was no wait for a table. We got seated and our table was very sticky. No problem we had it clean we ordered our drinks and food. My husband noticed two roaches on our table. I got up the manager saw us with shock. He apologized as he was walking us to our new table he said he would take care of us assuming the food at least because of the other crawling friends that were on that table. We were visiting and drove 7hrs and starving so my husband just thought we just give them a second chance anybody would just run. So new table no waitress. We got thrown into a waiter with other busy tables. He definitely took care of us. Our food was dry and not the best me and my husband didn't even care at this point. As the check came I informed the waiter about our experience to get that info back to the manager so the taking care should be taking accountable for. The waiter came back and informed us the manage never said that he would take of anything. The waiter agreed in was pretty messed up for him to say that. The manager couldn't even come to our table to say that. He had to play messenger with the waiter. The waiter was more apologetic and gave us a percent off our bill. I have visited Logan's Roadhouse before and I expected more from my last experience. Food was good best service. This last experience sadly My friends and family won't be dining at Logan's . I don't ever write reviews but Logan's definitely needs to be held accountable for their management and there roaches. read more

I was visiting family down in South Texas and was looking for a place nearby to have lunch with my mother. My mom suggested that we go to Logan's Roadhouse. Just as we pulled up, she said "every time I ever came here, the service was horrible; it's been a few years since I've been back, though, so maybe it's better now." Based upon the 1 of 5 stars rating I'm giving it, clearly nothing has improved. Though we were seated fairly quickly, it took between 7 and 10 minutes before we were even greeted by our server to take our drink order. Our server returned approximately 3-5 minutes later with our drinks and we placed our order (a Grilled Chicken Club w/no mayo and the Choice Sirloin (medium rare) & Logan's Grilled Chicken combo.) Approximately 10 minutes later two people sat at a nearby table and placed their order. Approximately 10 minutes after the two people sat nearby, they received their orders (I don't know specifically what it was, but it wasn't something basic like a salad - it was warm meals.) Then, approximately 10 minutes later, a server (not our server) came and gave my mother and I our order. (How is it that people that showed up 10 minutes after we placed our order received their order 10 minutes before we received ours?) To add insult to injury, my mother's sandwich had mayo and mine was missing the grilled chicken portion. The server who delivered our order took both orders back until they could get the orders right. Our server then came over about 2 minutes later and repeated our order to ensure he got it right - (he had taken my mother's order correctly and then said he "didn't hear" when I said the "chicken part" of my order.) Our server then walks off and brings back my incomplete order saying "here's this much until you can get the chicken" and told my mother that hers would be out shortly. Approximately 5 minutes later, my mother's sandwich comes out and she checks it to make sure it's correct and she notices that there doesn't appear to be bacon on the sandwich - so the server says "check the other half" -- my mom does, and there does appear to be some bacon -- and the server says "there's enough bacon on that half, right?" at which point my mother points out that the whole sandwich should have bacon and not just half, at which point the server says he'll get her two slices of bacon. When the server comes back with the bacon, he also brings my chicken (which looks like a 2-3 oz. grilled chicken strip as opposed to a grilled chicken breast.) In order to just wrap up this miserable experience, my mother and I finish our meal, I pay with my credit card, and leave. No management ever came by the table to discuss the issues we had. Several hours after leaving the restaurant, I realize that I do not have the credit card that I paid with. I call the restaurant and a manager advises that "[I] left it on the table" and can come back and get it any time. Though I cannot say with 100% certainty, I do not believe i left it on the table. There was no book or try with the receipts when the server brought them back for me to sign - so I took the top one, signed it (and left it for him) and the bottom copy I put in my wallet - my credit card was not under those receipts or I'd have grabbed it. I'm far more inclined to believe that the server forgot to return it and then reported it as "left on the table." Though I don't live in the area, when I go back to visit family, I'll avoid visiting this Logan's. There is no excuse for such sloppiness. I honestly wish I could rate this 0 of 5 stars, but will have to give it 1, due to that being a minimum. My recommendation: If you're looking for a place to eat food similar to Logan's, go to one of the other nearby steakhouses - even on their worst day, they don't do as bad as this place. read more

Would give no stars if possible. We stopped by when the restaurant was not very busy last evening. The steak that was ordered medium was completely raw (and it even had a medium plastic tab stuck in it that said medium, so I know the waiter heard correctly). Blood was spilling out of it! It was sent back but came back a little more done but still raw and cold. The cole slaw was tasteless. It took about 15 minutes for our orders to be taken and at least 40 minutes to get two of the 4 meals, then another 10 for the other two. Our waiter did not check on us. We needed refills but no one came. We had to hunt our waiter down for the bill. For the price you pay here you expect better food and better service. We will never be back at this location and may never go to any other Logan's!! read more
