The food has been come out at good temperature. Service has been prompt and helpful. Decor appears as a roadhouse but is a little outdated. The Mozzarella sticks are nothing special but okay to munch on. The bread is pretty good but could use something like a cinnamon butter served with it. Some places have terrible water when you order it, not this place! Water is a good choice for a drink as it tastes clean here. MEALS: 1. The pulled pork is decent but could use some more flavor in the meat itself. If you dunk it in the bbq sauce, it's good. The bbq sauce is more of a sour bbq than sweet. The mashed potatoes are good on their own and even better with the beef gravy with it. The baked beans are KILLER in flavor. The only downside is the jalapeños in it make it really spicy but add the flavor. Might benefit from using poblanos to back some of the heat down but keep good flavor. 2. The steak is good with some parts of the meat and some not. It lacks a good meat flavor and could replicate at home easily. It was cooked as asked for (medium well). It may have been better cooked medium or medium rare. The sweet potato is very yummy and done just right. The baked apples may be the BEST thing on the menu. So perfectly cooked and changes the whole dynamic of the food. Overall, some items are good and some items are just eh. Take it home no surprise I get it home and my meal is now a hungry man dinner because I have to microwave it. I've seen the reviews posted over the past few months and decided to check them out for myself. First of all, when you walk in it's a nice looking place with odd and somewhat weird art painted illustrations on the wall. On to the food and experience. I ordered the bread battered chicken tenders and the roadies sliders (fasting for 24 hours...so I've got a big appetite) my sides were broccoli, waffle fries and coleslaw. The tenders were okay but the waffle fries were old and unfortunately I had to tell the server. I hate "complaining"...but I honestly could not eat them. The sliders looked good but when I ate them the more they began to taste like boiled Pattie's. Now to be fair, I actually like boiled burger Pattie's...reminds me of the theme park food. I was not expecting that here so it took me back a bit. The broccoli was dry so after one bite I forgot they were even there. On to the good...my server was great and connected with me with jokes etc. She even had the cooks make me some fresh waffle fries that she brought out to me with a smile. That was a plus for my experience with her. Overall, the staff seemed pleasant and caring. Unfortunately the food really makes this review unbalanced. Would I got back again?? We consistently love Logan's in Midland! My most recent order was a take out and it was 80% perfect. This may not sound great, but I would usually give them a 100% and I was impressed that they went above and beyond to fix the somewhat minor issues that I contacted them about. We can't review the food because we waited over an hour for food. The service was terrible!! We have come here regularly for years and never had any complaints. This time we arrived at approximately 7pm, we were advised shortly after being seated, by our waiter, he would be with us shortly, nice! Unfortunately 10 minutes later he came took our drink order, a coke & a beer. Then 20 minutes passed, I stopped him & asked about our drink order, " I don't know what's taking that beer so long?", I said the soda?, oh yeah?? He brought the coke!! We then said we wanted to order, order given, so we have already been here 1/2 hour & still my husbands beer hadn't been delivered. Approximately 5 minutes later the beer arrived & waiter came back & reviewed our food order. Oh, also, it was very cold and my husband asked if the air conditioning could be turned down, when we first arrived, people all around us were mentioning how cold it was also. Nothing changed, we stopped our waiter and asked again about the cold temperature. Shortly afterwards, the manager came out & agreed that the air was blowing on my husband & moved us over to another booth, he said " it's hot in the kitchen & we need to keep it running ". So by now it's 8 pm, I asked the manager about our food, we have been here 1 hour, still don't have our food, he said he would go check on it. He never returned!!! Tommy, our waiter, was excellent. The problem was the quality of the food. Our dinner partners each sent their steaks back as each was not as ordered. The wait was extremely long only to get new steaks for each. One was prepared correctly and the other was exactly as the first. The cheese wasn't melted and the potatoes seemed dry like they were microwaved. The worst part, I bit into my second to last one when I bit into a rock. The size of a pea but a clearly defined rock. I told my server about it. She took it to the back, and said she told a manager. I didn't see her again until she came for the check. Working on a project in Midland, MI for a few months there are only so many places to get to for dinner, so I ended up eating at this Logan's a number of times. The ribs are good and the co-worker I went with would rave about the filet/lobster tail combo that he would always get. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich is kind of ehhh, so I'd stick to the more traditional BBQ type food. Was able to be seated right away but then waited 40 minutes to get our food with only 10 other patrons in the restaurant. My stake was so tough I couldn't chew it. My husband got the burger and couldn't even bite threw the bun and my sister-in-law got the ribs and they were cold and dried out. I have eaten at Logan's in Saginaw and have never had these issues. I sat in amazement - feeling like a child who had just awoken on Christmas morn to the sight of a room full of presents - as my table was filled with a basket of bread. This wasn't just any old bread from the corner grocery, mind you. I'm talking a bread that was buttery. A bread that was fluffy. A bread that was warm and inviting. Our family decided to go to Logan's after my grandsons graduation ceremony. There were 12 people in our party. Not one person finished a single meal. Out of the 12 meals 9 were steak dinners ranging from $25 to $45. Every single one of the 9 steaks, were all so overdone and tuff that they were not edible. My 8 year old granddaughter said hers "tasted like burnt dust." I can't explain how upset I was that we paid nearly $450.00 for dinners that were left on our plates. Not to mention feeling terrible that my grandson could not enjoy his graduation dinner. Needless to say the lack of concern that over 80% our our dinners we left on our plates, was even more disappointing. No, customer service was offered or extended.
