Came here because we heard you could see alligators during your meal. I mentioned I had never seen one before so they threw some food in the water for me to get a closer look! Went on Steak Night and enjoyed the meal, cooked well and service was great. Sat outside and overlooked the river just at sunset. Very enjoyable atmosphere. I'd go back again if I'm in the area. I can put up with a lot - but this was the worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. We waited over an hour and a half for our food. Our waiter obviously forgot to put in the order (which was later confirmed by kitchen staff). Mistakes happen - this wouldn't be the first time someone forgot to turn in an order. But after he was 50 minutes late putting in the order (pretty well all the other dining clientele was gone at this point), he SHOULD have had a manager speak with us, or at least be honest about what happened, not say "man, that kitchen sure is taking a long time!" Hey buddy - we're not idiots - your kitchen isn't cooking those burgers sous vide... After he gave us that report, and it was another 20 minutes of waiting, I went looking for someone. This is when the kitchen staff told us the order wasn't turned in until 8:50 (don't know exactly when we arrived, but I KNOW we were at our table before 8:00). Some more waiting on the food (9:25 at this point), and growing frustrated by the fact that our waiter had been confirmed as lying and was now obviously avoiding our table - I wanted to speak with a manager. I asked a bartender if I could speak with a manager - she asked who my waiter was - I told her and she was like "well let me go get him for you". So another strike against the restaurant. I just wanted a civil discussion with someone in charge, but couldn't get directed to that person. After our food finally DID come, one of the ladies in our group - fed up with being lied to, ignored, and blown off - saw the owner of the establishment and went to go talk to him. He essentially blew her off too, asked her if we ever got our food (after more than an hour and a half - yes), asked if we ate it (well at 9:30 with no dinner, heck yeah we were going to eat it - even if it was mediocre warmed up bar food), and said if so there was nothing he could do. Disappointing service from all levels. The food was nothing special so there is NO reason to EVER consider giving these people repeat business, and I hope this experience influences others not to support an owner who condones this treatment of customers. read more

Our favorite place in Lake Charles and we only happened upon it when we flagged down a police man and asked where we could get a cold beer on the water. They do not advertise. The beer was icy cold , the bartender serving us out on the deck overlooking the water was A+ and the sandwich we split for a little something to eat was the best thing we've had in our southern trip. The bartender said they had the bread in our sliced brisket sandwich made locally. Do not miss this gem of a restaurant bar. My friends and I just wanted a nice relaxing evening with some good food and cold drinks. What we got was eaten by mosquitoes as we waited outside over an hour and a half for our food (which itself was certainly nothing better than average). Just tried to stop here for a drink and a snack on route from New Orleans to Houston with our friend from abroad who has never been to the UK. The manager Sally refused us in with our trained service dogs. We showed the manager all the papar work for the dogs and she denied us entry. We just wanted a drink and bite outside on the patio (not even inside the restaurant) and to be able to use the restroom as we had been driving for miles without a break and were only looking forward to seeing the sunset here. She wouldn't even come out to talk to us herself but sent a poor staff member to tell us no! Disgraceful - she should be fired! I have just been refused entry with our two service from Sally the manager. I would like to know how you would like to proceed as this action is against the law. 'A. Individuals who believe that they have been illegally denied access or service because they use service animals may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice. Individuals also have the right to file a private lawsuit in Federal court charging the entity with discrimination under the ADA.' I came here because someone had really talked up the curly fries. Well that review was either distorted by the maternal affliction, or Louisiana curly fries are a sad sight short of Texas standards because Loggerhead's curly fries are a flavorless and stale product south of mediocre. Their burgers are nothing special, and the wait staff is unresponsive and aloof. I see no redeeming qualities in this establishment. read more

This was worth getting off the highway for. Pretty setting with big outdoor covered deck on the Lake. Excellent smoked meats made in premises, as well as Boudin that was delicious. It's kind of an odd juxtaposition of resort that's currently under construction, marina and restaurant/bar with lots of live music. read more

Food is awesome. Everything on the menu is really good. My favorite is the pizza! It's made the way I like it. Crispy crust, lots of cheese, great toppings. No limp pizza here! I normally don't order hamburgers out, but Loggerheads burgers the best. Should be voted best burger in the area, and definitely the best pizza! Shrimp are big and seasoned right. I had no idea what to expect when I went to see 3 Hour Tour play live music on Sunday, November 30. First of all, you don't see the bar from the road but there is a sign pointing you to the turn off. The bar is a brand new building built on the banks of the Calcasieu River. There is some outside seating but not nearly enough for such beautiful location. The bar is accessible by both car and boat and there are dock side gas pumps. The band was great the food was good but the bar tenders were a little inattentive. Each time I wanted my bartender I had to wave to her. Also they left our food sitting under a heat lamp in the back for too long. The lack of out door seating is easily corrected by adding more tables and the lack of service can be fixed by a little training and hiring more staff members. Over all my wife and I enjoyed the place and will go back. I would give the place a 3 1/2 stars but you can't half a star on Yelp. read more

First, it took around 25 minutes to get a server. Then, it took over 45 minutes to get our drinks (Children's sprites and alcoholic beverages). I had to remind our server. An hour after we ordered, they tell us they are out of the food item we ordered. Then, they tell us we have to leave in 15 minutes because we have children. We arrived around 5:30pm and we read the signs that say no one under 21 after 7pm. The manager was extremely rude and so was the owner. The owner stated he just wouldn't let kids return at all anymore. Then another representative began yelling profanities from the balancing with about 7 children nearby. I worked as a server for 10 years and have never experience a manager an owner as rude as I did on Father's Day at Loggerheads! I will never return to this establishment. Worst restaurant experience in my entire life. Just wow! Update: we tried to do the right thing and pay for our drinks. They charged us $100 without our permission. We did not sign the credit card receipt. They literally robbed us after giving us the worst service I've ever experienced. DO NOT EAT HERE! The owner was clearly intoxicated during his screaming match with 10 adults and 7 kids present. read more

Go for the atmosphere, not the food or the service. I moved to lake charles about 6 months ago and I've been trying to find my go-to spot. I've been back to this place because I really love the atmosphere. Gorgeous view from the outdoor seating and they tend to have really good live music. That's where the good parts end. The service has been absolutely awful every time. I always finish my drink long before anybody comes around asking if I need another. The waitress has messed up my order about 75% of the time. Once, when I didn't receive part of what I ordered the waitress actually argued with me and told me I didn't order that, when everybody at the table was in agreement that I definitely had. Another time we ordered the pizza and specified all the toppings were fine (it comes with everything and you tell them what toppings you don't want) except one and even reiterated that I absolutely couldn't stand said topping. Guess what was on my pizza. Their food selection is fairly lacking in options, also. On another trip, we were getting ready to leave but one guy was staying. The two of us leaving asked for our checks and the other guy asked for another beer. She came back with no checks and a full round of beers. We said we hadnt ordered those and wanted our checks. She said "you told me to bring another round" and said we had to pay for them since we ordered them. I've been back to this place several times because I REALLY wanted to like it. The only reason it got 2 stars was because of the view from the patio. It might be okay if you just want to stop in for a couple beers and dont mind walking up to the bar to get them, but don't expect any kind of decent service. read more

Salad is twice the price of anything else but it is about the size of a side salad. Everything was served in disposable cups, with disposable silverware, and straws. Incredibly wasteful. I love this place but I make sure to always avoid the little OLD Lady named Melissa that for some reason aggressively tries to serve me no matter how much I obviously seat myself away from her. Just a nasty attitude from her. Mocks her coworkers behind their backs and she doesn't know I've noticed but has on more than one occasion written condescending and mean nicknames on my tab receipts. One being "fatty" & "crippy". I guess crippy is a stab at my being handicapped and needing a full leg brace and cane to get around. But anyway. I do love this bar for everything else. Will never eat here again! My husband and I frequent this place every so often. This evening there were 6 of us adults and 2 children. Their lower level outside patio was flooded so we sat at at the upstairs patio. They told us that since it was flooded downstairs where children can sit they could not serve us upstairs. We are staying here in LC because our houses were flooded from Harvey so we chose this place because we love the food. If your looking for a good place to get you motorcycles covered in parking lot debree, this is the place to go. Went for lunch, on a Sunday placed our order, then went back out to get something out of the bike, and an employee was blowing down the parking lot,( yes at 11:30) the bikes were covered. Went over to the guy and said look at what your doing, he states he wasn't blowing directly at the bikes, I said walk over and look how covered they are, I guess the debree cloud going across the lot with the wind does not count, and is not his fault, he kept on blowing. Went inside told them what was going on, she said I'm sorry, and turned around back to what she was doing. Not how bad is it, or we will stop him, or how can we make this up.
