I wanted to make this review cause the photos posted on here does zero justice to how beautiful this place really is! The bathrooms and hot shower houses were clean and it felt really good to have it available! The place is also secured. There were staff on site in case we had questions, Tara was very helpful in answering all my questions! We camped at oama left and we had oama right neighbors. It wasn't that bad of a distraction at all, there was a lot of space available for both of us. For this campsite you have to pay for a minimum of 12 campers, but it wasn't too bad considering it's a big space for tents and tables. 2 picnic tables were already provided so that was good! The hot showers were a great touch, after a long day. The beach was walking distance, we overnight fished and had a great time. Some of the rules: there are activities but they are available for ala cart purchase, there is a pool there but you have to rent a lifeguard, you can't have day visitors come by, you're given wristbands for the stay. There are also assigned parking stalls per camp site, we had 3 for ours. Will definitely be booking this place in the future! It's a really nice getaway...

Spent the long labor day weekend at camp mokuleia for our annual labor day camping trip. we always…read morechoose campsite 5 because we like the layout. The site is gated and feels very safe. There are bathrooms and hot showers and we always have a great time. The swimming in the area is not the best. Lots of reef in the shoreline but you can walk a little ways down and have better swimming spots. The only downside to the location is the parking lot is far so lugging your things gets exhausting. There is an entrance closer on the other side but we are not allowed to use it. Bathrooms are also extremely far and is a nightmare for your early morning or late night bathroom needs. Every time we've been there, parking was a mess. You're assigned a parking spot for your site but no one follows the rules. Also not enough parking. Our site allows 4 stalls but has a 10 person max. We are 5 couples, total 10 people which means 5 cars. All things aside, we love this location and will definitely be back but I would love to see improvements with a second bathroom on the other side as well as parking or drive in options for offloading and unloading.

This is a dear former colleague of mine where I saved the date. When I formally received the invitation I saw the venue and asked myself "Where is that?" Oahu Veterans Center (OVC) is a conveniently located venue in the Salt Lake area which has 2 large halls to host gatherings. They are adjacent to ample parking where it was super crowded that day but the grounds were marked to facilitate overflow of cars for those who arrived later. It was my first time here at OVC where I found the venue spacious, clean and the grounds well kept. I initially went to the wrong party as I didn't know there are several halls here. While standing in line I realized it was for a high school graduation party which clearly wasn't the event I was invited to. I made my way to the other hall where I saw a large banner with my friend's name. There's a kitchen that's adjoining to the hall. Food that evening was catered by Guieb Cafe. Our meal was buffet style where the kitchen sure came in handy with food being replenished periodically throughout the event. It was warm outside that day but the venue has decent air conditioning where we sat down in comfort throughout the event during dinner, slide show and hula performances. Overall, a great first time at OVC where I'd be game for a return visit. This is definitely a venue I'd consider if I wanted to host an event.

This one is located in the salt lake area and the name is Oahu Veterans Center the other off sand island is the Disabled Veterans Center. We were surprised when we got there it has a park and large parking area. The hall is air conditioned and the hall was clean with large restrooms located outside of the hall. They brought in their own food and pupu and they had shave ice, pop corn, cotton candy, pork hash and full bar! Restroom was clean and handicap accessible.

I would definitely get rid of the fabric chairs. Great air inside with two units in each bedroom and fans throughout. Beware of insects. Keep the door closed and keep the trash out. I took all food and trash to the large trash can. Even with your best effort, you will see ants, gnats, centipedes, and lizards inside. There is also a small rooster that likes to roam, but appears friendly. The cost was reasonable, but it's not different than a 3.5 motel. Very central to most things . Everyone is very friendly. The road to get there can get super dark at night. Don't sleep on the restaurant in FoodLand!

The beds were incredibly comfortable, the kitchen had everything I could think to want and the lanai was my favorite spot for napping each afternoon. The pool was a 2 minute walk from the unit - my grandsons just loved the pool and I loved the shaded cabanas. The beach was about a 10 minute walk, but we mostly used the golf cart. The unit had all sorts of bicycles, scooters, books and toys and board games so the kids were never ever bored. Safeway, Costco and Target are 1 exit away and it's so nice to be able to park right at the villa and not have to haul everything into an elevator or down a long hallway (especially after a day at the beach). My son in law was thrilled with the "high tech" gadgets - 3 huge TVs, NetFlix, wifi, even a printer. I am already looking forward to another trip this summer!

Great place for a party…read more This is a spacious and beautiful location on the AF side of the base. The facility has a full fridge and working deep sink. There are a couple or outlets if you want to bring a radio or rice cooker ;) And you can't have rice without having some kind of meat. There's two stationary grills on property. The trash is taken out by management when you turn the keys back in and pick up your deposit. I believe the deposit is $250. There are bathrooms in the back. No porta potties thank God. No real flying creatures to stanch your food and plenty of fresh air. You will get the occasional roar of a plane engine since the runway is close by and sometimes you see a naval ship just off the coast heading out or doing maneuvers. Overall five stars. The scenery is beautiful and he can't beat the price. M

Foster Point Peninsula on Hickam AFB is the absolute worst place for a picnic lunch! Please don't…read morego there. It is so ugly! It is surrounded on three sides by pristine azure waters... YUCK! You can see the skyline of Honolulu and the silhouette of Diamond Head... so horrific! Nearby sail boats gently rock to small waves on the aforementioned pristine azure waters... you do not want to see this! There is no comfortable place to sit and eat. There are only maybe a dozen clean tables from which to choose: some in the shade, some in the sun, and some are under a pavilion to use in the unlikely event it rains during your picnic... Don't take the chance! Today during lunch (well, for the first few minutes) I had to share the peninsula with one other picnicker. Sure he was like 40 yards away, but you shouldn't have to put up with this! And the wind! Today it was so blustery that it threatened to blow my napkin off the table... not once, but TWICE! Oh and it is so noisy... did I mention the sail boats and the waves? Well, they're not silent, ya know! They make this monotonous "lap-lap-lap" sound that might drive you crazy! And you'd be dining only a couple miles from the airport. So as you watch the lumbering jets lift off gracefully into the sky, you can actually hear them. .. It's horrendous! It so far out of the way! It takes minutes and minutes (maybe as many as five) to drive out there from the base proper.... Don't waste your valuable time! So in short, take my advice: Do not put up with ugliness, then uncomfortable conditions, the noisiness, and the long long ride out to Foster Point Peninsula for a picnic lunch! It's just not worth it. But if you do, you'll likely see me there enjoying my picnic lunch; and if you do, feel free to wave. But try to keep your 40 yards separation! ;-)

There is so much stuff you will love just staying @ the house. Features includes: Deck has table for breakfast. The owner is very nice, and accomodating. They have a master bedroom that over sees the ocean. The house includes 4 rooms. Alot of beds. The owner have alot of towels, cards, board games, and even stuff to use on the ocean like boarding, snorkling equipments. New screens just got installed recently. Alot of public access beaches- around 5-10 mins of walking. Basically everything you need to stay on a home for several days! Just check out the pictures we took. Their all breath taking! this house is truly a gem! it has 4 bedrooms which is good for a large family to stay when in…read morehawaii. the master bedroom is separate and has a full view of the ocean...no need to wake up early and go walk just to see the sunrise because you can just watch it from the bedroom itself! it has a gorgeous view of the beach. you can relax and eat at the house deck while doing the ff: listening to the sound of the waves, enjoying the sea breeze and of course, seeing the beautiful ocean scenery. you dont have to pay for an ocean adventure using an agency because the house is near the beach (5 minute walk only) and has everything you need for a beach day. they have complete set of beach stuff to use (snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach mats, beach chair, umbrella, kiddie water toys). the owner is very kind and thoughtful. when there is something you need help with, he responds quickly to tend to the issue and is also very accommodating. overall, this house deserves a 5 star! i would stay here again when i come back and definitely recommend it to everyone!
