    Cute place!

Is there a six star option because this place is that good! I wasn't familiar with this place but I was nearby and it showed up on Yelp. Boy am I glad I tried this place! Everything is fresh, the portions are generous and the service is excellent! It has a unique blend of Caribbean, Puerto Rican, Mexican and South American. It hits quite well with all of these! I had the Molcajeta, which featured steak, shrimp, chicken, cheese, peppers, noplan (cactus) and a tomatillo sauce. Amazing! Every aspect of it was fantastic. The corn tortillas and the beans on the side were quite good too. My wife had the Mofongo which she said was the best she'd ever had. She's difficult to please when it comes to food. The steak was tender, the fried plantains were amazing and I will have a difficult time deciding whether to order this or the Molcajeta next time. The empanadas are a great appetizer. We had the cheese and the ground beef and both were worth ordering. My daughter loved the chicken sandwich, my son enjoyed the nachos and my two younger ones had the chicken strips and both were happy. I was so full I had to box half of mine, and I finally have leftovers to be excited about. Despite being full, I ordered the flan. My kids tried it for the first time and were impressed. I really liked it too. What an excellent place! It's small, and most people are regulars. It's a neat spot!

My wife and I had dinner here tonight along with another area couple. I found the food good and the service was excellent. We shared a platter for two people which could have easily fed three,, A combination of many flavors. Food quality was fresh but I felt a couple of the items on the platter were tasteless and perhaps cooked earlier in the day and perhaps dry?? Chips and salsa were good We may return another time and try something else from the menu.

The fish cerviche was good... however it lacked a little "zing" ... it also did not come with chips, but they do give the table chips and salsa so I used those chips. The kids chicken strips were not traditional chicken strips. It was breaded chicken breast then cut into strips. It wasn't bad just not expected.

One of my favorites for an enjoyable take out. The mufungo is good but not the best, a bit drier than others I had. I am not sure how the dish would be prepared if dining in but was surprised to find all of the Lulu Latins nacho toppings to have been packaged separately. While not expected, it made for a fun make your own nacho night. Shrimp a la diabla mofongo and anything made with penil (i.e. slow roasted pork) are my favorites. Was not a fan of the lobster empanadas. Staff are very friendly and service is always great. The restaurant is small so be patient if it's a busy night. Would suggest calling if you are tight on time.

    Ceviche was delicious!

Great food! Great service! Everyone was so friendly! The live music was fantastic! I can't wait to come back!

Food was tasty. Got mofongo with chimichurri steak. They brought the plate out and I asked where the chimichurri sauce for my steak was and he said they didnt have any. You would think they tell you that at the time you order in case you rather go with something else but no. Food was tasty and place was very cute so i still have to give them a good rating.

The decor takes you right to island vibes. The music, the small trinkets that remind you of Puerto Rico are all here. The aromas in the air will have you drawn in. Our trip we had the roasted pork, and cube steak. My roasted pork was very flavorful. The rice reminded me of my grandmother's rice. The beans are amazing to say the least. I want the recipe! Tostones were fresh and hot! Made to order. The sweet plantain was the same. This last trip was today. Sundays are super busy! It was nice to see all the tables full and watching the family move in unison to get the customers taken care of. I ordered my food to go so I sat at the bar and waited for my food. Jessica the owner greeted me and was super attentive. Even when the hustle and bustle started she still checked on me. Today we ordered the pork chop dinner with rice and sweet plantain. I had the pork chunks with rice and beans along with tostones. We also had an alcapurrias that was delicious and flavorful. If you're looking for a true Puerto Rican restaurant that gives you all the feels along with great food and hospitality.....This is it!

Our waiter was a superstar- in talking with him he shared he was from Ecuador and made suggestions for our lunch choice. We started with the beef and chicken empanadas- very good- and an order of maduros- ripe plantains. We should have stopped there because I was almost full at that point. For our entrees we chose shrimp mofongo- which we really see in small cities being that it is the national dish of Puerto Rico- and the paella for one. Both were wonderful. I would argue that the size of the paella should be be renamed as a lid of a trashcan serving. It was giant and we barely put a dent in it before asking for a to go box. I highly recommend this spot!

The only thing I'd change is using fresh-caught shrimp to give it more of that seaside flavor. The whole red snapper with coconut sauce was also full of flavor. We really enjoyed the mango and guava juices, and the tres leches dessert was amazing! Definitely a highlight of the meal. Other things we liked: the decor was nice, our waitress was a friendly young lady who made the experience pleasant, and the restroom was very clean. Overall, a solid spot for tasty Latin dishes and a comfortable atmosphere.

Location is Bush River Rd same shopping center as Roses…read more We've been here quite a few times for me it's mainly the Patti and coco bread. They are priced slightly lower than Island Grill. I believe variety includes chicken, beef, spinach but not certain. My wife gets the curry goat and oxtail plates, the portions of meat and rice is large. The plantains are only two and cabbage is smaller than rice. I think the meat is probably the closest tasting it can get to the real thing. No Jamaican restaurant I visited in America can get the jerk chicken taste quite the way it tastes in Jamaica. The rice and peas don't have much coconut taste if any but they give a large portion. Plantain are good, our cabbage last visit was mushy not their best work as I don't remember having this complaint before. We haven't tried Escovitch or veggie plate here. There is a small section of spice bun, biscuits, other dry goods and freezer drinks. Sparse indoor seating, no bar, mainly pick up orders. Interior decoration features some geographical illustrations, pics, possibly hand crafted traditional pieces (not for sale), and boombox music. Prices are high for plates, perhaps that reflects portion sizes. Employee/customer relations is polite. Quick option of the few in Columbia on Irmo side.
