My family and I went here on our trip, and we were a little nervous since we've never eaten on Isla Mujeres before, but Snapper's blew us away! Water and ice was potable, for anyone worried about that. Also, the waiter saw we were struggling to order in Spanish so he told us, "I speak English, too. Don't worry." We had a big laugh about that The shrimp cocktail was incredible, as was the spinach artichoke dip. Plus, my little brother is super picky about textures, but there was zero chunks of anything in the dip, so he ate it with us. (It might not sound like a big deal, but it always makes my mom so happy when he tries something new, and not many places make puréed artichoke dip. The extra effort meant a lot to my mom and brother) He also doesn't like seafood (just as a preference) so he got a burger, and he RAVED about how good it was. The whole table went crazy for the homemade potato chips! Oh my word! Not too salty and not too bland. Would absolutely order again and then take another to go! The music wasn't too loud, and the sports bar entertained my stepdad while we had our Piña Coldas (which were also very good with Malibu). There was also big fans to cool us down on such a hot day!! I would 1000% go back there if getting to and from Isla Mujeres wasn't such a hassle Advice to anyone going here: stick to the seafood and hamburgers. This place is the best.... The owner Nash is so accommodating the food was great the drinks were good and we really had a ball. I was so concerned that I would miss my football games but when I got to snappers it has all the games with the best drinks The pools and large TV outside and the games inside were free, pool tables air hockey and more They even had birthday props/ favors (check out photos) When I come back I will definitely visit this place. I will say this...this place has got to be the best restaurant bar combination I have ever visited. The food at this place is top notch as well as the adult drinks...you can tell a lot of emphasis was put on the food considering the owner is a chef. Out back you will find and open area and a stage area where you can enjoy live music while you eat your meal. A big tv screen in the back of the stage gives it a vivid look. Staff are very friendly and easy going as well. The menu has plenty of options when it comes to food and I will say that every plated food plate is made to perfection. This place has great food. Big breakfasts and dinners. Didn't get a chance to have lunch here. Nash, the owner, came over to me and addressed me by name. I'd been introduced a couple of days ago. You can have your cocktail while chilling in the pools (2!). The best bar on the island. Legit teared up on our last day. They went above and beyond to make sure we could watch all 3 Braves games and kept the drinks flowing. Great food, as well. The mango habanero wings are incredible and the oysters too. All the bartenders and manager Augustine make you feel like you are at your local bar. And the owner Nash is the sweetest man you will ever meet. The only bar on the island that has the streaming capabilities to find any sports game you want/need to watch. We really enjoyed our first time in Isla Mujeres for our 20th anniversary trip. Hands down - it's amazing and beautiful place, however to stay on track - the service, food, staff (EVERYONE at Snapper's was phenomenal) and the owner of this place was 5 star. Nash (owner) was amazing, friendly, and one of the coolest folks you've ever met. We had the mussels, spinach artichoke dip, and will be going back for the blackened snapper as a house specialty. The house tequila is every bit (truthfully better) than Casa Amigos, Don Julio (insert 'X' awesome tequila here) - highly recommend and is a must have. What a great restaurant that we unfortunately found on our last night. We started with the crab cakes which were 2 healthy size cakes with lots of crab meat and a delicious remoulade sauce to dip. Next we had the lobster bisque which had a large amount of lobster meat set in a very tasty base. We split the blackened snapper that was purchased that day off the boat. Served with fries and rice, it was fantastic. The owner Nash greeted us and actually visited with us as I was curious about his culinary background. There's a lot to like about Snappers, the food was very good. My wife went lite with splitting a shrimp cocktail, then had the crab cakes, I had the fish and chips. All very good. My wife liked the dirty martini, nice balance of flavor. Service throughout dining was top notch. Losing stars-payment time. While Snappers clearly shows US dollar conversion rates (very fair as well), the final bill also shows US dollar and pesos equivalents, total dining cost and separately, the tips, nice. However, when i communicated that I would tip the 20% amount and the server calculated the new total (72 for the meals/drinks and 87 with tip), we agreed, I gave her 100 US, then got ignored. After a long enough wait while she ignored us as we tried to get her attention, i approached her, we discussed the lack of change from the 100 dollars, she "forgot". I know I should have had the pesos on hand, paid the meal and left a tip with my change. Even so, won't go back. read more

After a day of fishing. The captain suggested we go to Snapper for dinner. They prepared the fish we caught as our dinner for our part of 11. The manager came over to our table on several occasions to check on us and making sure we were have a good time. The drinks we good and the fish was prepared exceptionally well. Let me first say that my issue with this restaurant is that the owner was so incredibly rude it was unbelievable. We ordered a fried shrimp dish that my friend had two weeks ago. The dish came out and it wasn't what she expected. Two weeks ago it was panko breaded but today it came out beer battered. When she asked the waiter he didn't seem to know then another waitress said they don't make it that way.But she wanted what she had two weeks ago. She definitely knows what she ate. Anyway, about 10 minutes later a man approached our table, waving a menu and yelling at us "We don't have what you're asking for. I made you something special and you don't like it. You can leave!!!" But that's just a shortened version of his rant at us. He went on for about 2 minutes, yelling and waving his menu and pointing it at us and telling us we could nust get out. It was awful. I have never experienced anything like it before in my life. After he left I went to the waiter, asked for to go cups and let him know he could add the shrimp back to our check and to tell the owner I said Fuck You!!!! Never going back. What a disappointment. And shame on him for yelling at a group of 4 grown women. Disgusting. read more
