The moment we walked in, this place felt like home. Even when they were about to close they still let us taste the wine we were going to buy. The owner of the winery actually took the time to have a personal conversation with me and I appreciate his humble opinion and advice I would suggest this place if you want a very intimate and personable experience.

My husband took me and our kids here for a wine tasting before we checked into our resort in Calistoga. They are one of the few wineries that actually allow kids, and I can see why! The back patio is absolutely delightful and perfect for kids, lots of cool plants and trinkets to look at. The vibe is super homey and cozy and you literally feel like you're at someone's house (which the building actually is). The service is super friendly and welcoming, and you definitely feel like it's a different pace than the busy city. We ended up getting 2 bottles and the bottarga (roe). A bit pricey but totally worth it!

If you only have one stop to make for wine tasting or if you want to try many wineries, go to Lola! Lola Winery excels at crafting distinct, well-balanced wines. The winemaker Seth Cripe has a unique story and ambition. Such a sweet and great setting that really welcomes you and makes you feel at home.

Was nearby and saw review on Yelp. They are nice to get me in with a very short notice. The tasting house is pretty cute, with a cozy backyard for the tastings. Very interesting wine offerings. I surprisingly really liked the whites. Grabbed two bottles after. Really hard working people here with great personality. It was a hot day but they kept the area cool with strong fans. Really enjoyed the visit .

Highly recommended! Thank you to Vivian and the team for taking such good care of us and sharing their knowledge and ridiculously delicious wines. We had so much fun in the beautiful garden and will certainly be coming back. Also the burrata dish was so tasty!

The wines here are excellent, they were described by a very informative person named Jarred and he knows his stuff. Additionally, our minds were blown after having the Bottarga and Mojama food offerings. I have never had these before and they were so delicious, we took some home (along with wine). The beautiful garden setting was so relaxing and enjoyable, I highly recommend anyone to go to Lola wines!

Lola is a tasting house in downtown Calistoga (no vineyard views but cute setting). They have an adorable outdoor patio where you can taste 5 wines for $30 or the entire line up for $50 (10 different wines). It's a small family owned winery and the wine maker and his wife is usually around saying hi and introducing the wines to people. We visited during the Valentine's weekend and they had a sweet surprise treat and also took Polariods for everyone to keep! Loved spending time there and ended up buying a bottle of Dry Riesling and two different Pinot Noirs. More wineries based on views, price, varietals at finevining.com IG @fine.vining Cute for pictures: 3/5 QPR: Average price $20-50 Main varietals: Dry Riesling, Pinot, Cab Tasting fee: $30, waived with 3 bottles

It's a small operation but definitely a gem to stop at in Calistoga. Just along the main road, walking into Lola Wines feels like you're coming over to your friends' house out in the countryside to savor an afternoon with people you enjoy being around. There isn't much seating and during the past few months, at least, you won't be seated without a prior reservation, so definitely book ahead. Easy check in - just walk right in to the backyard and you'll be seated and introduced to the selection. We went for the mixed tasting on this occasion, meaning we had some of the reds as well as a few whites. Served beautifully for your pouring pleasure, and each comes with its own little story from your host. And due to the coziness of the backyard area, you get a lot of personalized attention from the host as you proceed through the tasting. You may even catch a glimpse of the Lola founder during your visit, as he's known to come by. There are some wines at Lola that you can only purchase at the Lola house. You won't find them on store shelves elsewhere in the country. Again, it's just a really small operation so supply is very limited. But this adds an element of pizzazz to the tasting, I think. Best part? The restroom at the Lola house has a pink ball pit bathtub. Why? Who knows? Do we need to ask? No - It's wonderful. Definitely no regrets about coming to Lola. We had a great time. As a complete wine amateur, I thought the wines were pleasant and tasted different enough that I enjoyed going through the tasting. Don't ask me for wine reviews hahaha. Lola is nice cozy place to spend the afternoon with good company and an enjoyable tasting experience.

Service was terrific. Wines good. Ambiance very good. Food mediocre. A substantial change from the large wineries in the area.

Romeo holds a special place in our hearts because we visited them a little over seven years ago. During that experience (which you can read about in my previous review - if interested), my wife and I had a grand experience with former Business Manager Emma, who administered the delicious tastings. Fast forward to the present, we looked forward to enjoying a glass of their finest red before finding lunch. Upon entering the walkway, we were enthusiastically greeted by an employee named John who quickly ushered us to a vacant table for two. My wife had a slight reaction to the beautiful flowers that were in full bloom. Out of the kindness of his heart, John provided my wife with a bottle of Pure Leaf tea that calmed her allergies. We told John that we were interested in enjoying a glass of red, in which he quickly ran off and returned with a bottle of 2009 Eugenia Cabernet Sauvignon. Upon doing the swirl and sniff test (sounds dirty doesn't it?), I knew that we were in for a treat. Since we were both in dire need of a meal, we sadly could not continue the party. However, we will make a return visit in the near future to enjoy a full tasting experience!

We were camping at the nearby state park and were looking for a place that was open for wine…read moretasting and picked this one. It was around 5pm on a Thursday and we were the only ones around. The tasting cost $40 for 6 pours, starting with a rose and ending with a Cabernet Sauvignon. I am not very fond of reds but all the ones that were on the tasting menu that day were very good. The rose was my favorite. I was talking to the owner and he mentioned that he prefers to be out making wine instead of pouring and I can see that. Also, the pours were very tiny. There was not much information shared about the wine etc, he left the bottle with the information side turned towards you to read up on your own. The place itself is beautiful and it used to be a hardware store. It's right next to the city hall and across the street from the police station. There is street parking as well as a public parking lot next to the police station. The place is dog friendly and the owner bought out a bowl of water for my baby. I didn't buy anything but I would visit again.

We were fortunate to meet the owner, Ted, who was very kind and knowledgeable, and the wine was Excellent and a Great value. The tasting room was cute, clean, comfortable, and bright. Gian's knowledge of wine, the vineyards history and Elsa's wine production was fascinating to hear as we walked through the cellar. Our tasting included a fig salami, (since I don't eat pork), delectable, cheeses, nuts, and chocolate covered espresso beans, which paired beautifully with the three Cabernet Sauvignon's- 2014, 2015 and 2016. Gian afforded us time by ourselves to contemplate each year's similarities and differences before listening to our ranking of each. Hearing our passion for Cabernet Franc, he added it to our tasting, which compelled us to buy not only the Cab Sauvignons but also the Cab Franc. The tasting surpassed our expectations and other experiences in Calistoga.

The place was empty except for two tables in the corner. We were seated at the edge near the back facility room where all of the sunshine of the morning was blazing from the upper windows right into my face. We had to move the table back and forth left to right and back again to get out of direct blaring sunlight. We mentioned it but were not offered the option to move. The entire tasting was quite rushed with the staff member coming over with the next bottle standing waiting while we finished the second half of each glass hurriedly. Whole tasting was rushed into 30 minutes while the two other tables, there before us, were still able to take their time and enjoy. That said the wines were absolutely amazing and we would have gladly purchased the Sauvignon Blanc had it not been so unpleasant of an experience. A true disappointment at a high end winery.
