Had an odd interaction here. Starting that off as the preface. The food here is good. We really enjoy the dishes and like eating here as a family. Today we ordered the black pepper beef with sugar snap peas and Darrin's with black bean said. Their sides of rice are big so sharing is a good idea. Their food here is really good. So now here's the odd interaction that left us feeling really weird about the lunch we just had. On weekends they can get really busy. Today was no different. We were finishing up our food and asked for boxes. They have a jar of spicy pickled peppers for the table that we also scooped up a bit for the rest of our meal that we didn't finish. Now the jar is maybe 8-10oz. And was already half used. So we got one of those little small 3oz to go sauce container and we filled it. We asked for a lid and what happened was something no customer should have to deal with. We were lectured for a few minutes that we wouldn't usually be allowed to take anything like the peppers to go. The reason being is it's busy and they don't have time to fill up the jar for the next customer. We could tell from her tone she was annoyed but we still don't understand why. If it was something we were told ahead of time we'd ask them for a side from their reserve which is still taking the time to go get us a side. So I'm still reeling from being lectured like a choked about taking a condiment that's there and meant for enjoying with the meal. I still give them 3 stars because I do like their food. I do understand the concern for the next customer but I'm you're current customer. And taking a few minutes to fill up a jar for your next customer is part of your job so why berate a patron trying to support your business. read more

The food was amazing as always! One standout dish was the tofu. It had a perfectly crispy batter on the outside while staying incredibly soft and silky on the inside, a unique texture that made it absolutely delicious. Always my favorite family style meal that's not too pricey and plates are always large and full. The restaurant has a fair amount of seating. Service is always quick and good. We order to share family style.. the walnut shrimp is deliciously saucy. The house chow fun with gravy is full of flavor and always a great dish. Chicken wings are really crispy and salted nicely! I have been going to Lollibowl almost my whole life since I was a little kid. Lollibowl is a Sacramento staple located in predominately Asian plaza with a lot of other good restaurants around. I'm sure everyone loves and comes back to this place specifically because it's delicious, reliable and affordable. When entering, you're hit by a nostalgic smell that is unforgettable and it looks like it has never changed since I was a kid. It wasn't too busy at the time, so we were seated very quickly within 1 minute and got our waters and menus right after. I came here with 3 other friends and we decided to eat family style rather than ordering individually. The server came by after a few minutes and checked in to see if we were ready to place an order. We ordered the Mongolian beef, stir fried beef cubes with tofu, walnut shrimp, and Peking spare ribs. We also got a side of rice for us to share. The food came out very quickly and steaming hot, which is always amazing to see! I picked the Mongolian beef because that's what I usually get, and it just tastes fantastic. The peppers and onion add a nice flavor to the dish and the beef is always so tender. One of my friends ordered the stir fried beef with tofu and this is something I've never tried before, and it was great! Overall, I had an amazing experience eating there with my friends and being reminded of my childhood when I used to come with my parents and sister! The half chicken is DELICIOUS with the salt/lemon combo, and the salt & pepper wings are dare I say... the best in town!? The beef chow fun is full of flavor, but the steak cubes and rice are my absolute favorite. I've even tried recreating them at home. Salted fish fried rice is also a favorite. It sounds interesting...but trust me it is so good and not salty at all! Service is always 10/10, everyone is so nice and friendly, and the bottomless iced tea is one of my favorite things about this place. Definitely a go to spot for me and my family. Sis wanted to come here for lunch, so we went. Not my favorite place, but it's all about family time. It was super busy on a Sunday afternoon, but we got lucky with a table of 8. They always served big portions, but that doesn't mean it's good. Most of their food is mediocre, almost like it fills the stomach for a good price. My dad was not pleased with his "cube" beef and rice, but he opted for sliced because last time the cubed beef were super chewy and couldn't eat it. Another BIG thing is it's insanely cheap!!! In this economy these prices are rare for the quality and quantity of food received. My usual order is the red fried rice with pepper steak rubes and beef chow fun. I would recommend these 2 dishes to anyone trying Lollibowl for the first time. The red rice with steak cubes is nice and flavorful. Comes with a variety of vegetables so it adds depth to the dish. The beef chow fun is not too oily, favorful, and has that flavorful char from the intense high heat they toss it in. We also tried a few new items and they were spectacular. The crispy chicken was amazing, served with some salt and lemon on the side. We also ordered stir fried bok choy. It had a lot of flavor with the sauce they add to it. It's amazing how the bok choy still maintains it's crunch and texture after getting tossed in that delicious sauce. Overall my experience has always been great here. The service was amazing. The team always took care of us. Anything that was unsatisfactory they will make it right for you. I really appreciate how much the staff here put in the time to take care of the customers. I actually like their broth more than TK Noodle or the New Tung Kee chains because this one had a stronger and more savory flavor without MSG! Presentation before mixing was really nice and then there was a bed of bean sprouts waiting to be discovered under the noodles. *Beef chow fun -- soooo delicious and nostalgic, I could eat this all day. The noodles are slippery without being too greasy. This location is like in a strip mall/plaza area and parking is a hit or a miss sometimes. There are other shops around it so you may or may not park directly in front of the restaurant. There is Lollicup that is literally separated by a bathroom in the middle lol. So once you finish eating you can order some smoothies or boba togo on the drive home. The inside is spacious with a lot of tables and booths. All the condiments, spoons, chopsticks, and dipping saucers are at the table. Service is sometimes a hit or a miss depending on how busy they are. Food in general is good and every pan-fried noodles or rice dish from the a la carte is a lot. It comes out fast too! Recommended Items that I would get are: A15. Seafood Noodle Soup with Thick Rice Noodles ( Small Bowl - $13.25) Even though it is a small bowl, it is very filling. Lots of fish fillet, fish cakes and fish balls along with lots of rice noodles. Condiments like hoisin sauce helps with the toppings and adds a little more flavor to the seafood noodle bowl. C2. XO Seafood Chow Fun ($15.25) Big plate of rice noodles and various seafood toppings. Can last you 2 meals unless you are really hungry. You can get it dry or wet, Do get it wet cause the sauce will help bring out more of the flavor and is easer to eat vs dry. The wok hay can be seen and you can take the smokey flavor it gives to the rice noodles. C11. XO Seafood Chow Mien ($15.25) Similar to C2 but this time with crispy and sauced egg noodles. D4. Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice ($15.25) When it comes out, you would think you made a mistake as it is a lot but a lot is good especially this one. Packed full of flavor every bite. Lots of bits of salted fish, chicken and egg mixed together with the fried rice. Also can last 2-3 meals worth. Be sure to add pepper to help balance out the salted fish flavor. J24 (Peking Spareribs) and J25 (Sweet and Sour Spareribs) at $15.95 each used to be our usual additional orders to the fried noodles/fried rice order to take home but we noticed each time we get it, the serving is less and less so we would not recommend getting this unfortunately. A long, very long reviews overdue at this location. I've been eating here over 10 years but kept forget to review it. The manager/owner is very friendly and knows return customers very well. The foods here has been consistent with the flavor and the proportion, which are great. I remembered when a bowl of Hu Tieu Mi Combo was $5 back then and now with inflation is about $15. It's still good comparing to many other restaurants nearby which cost few $$ more. In other words, this sad-looking dish resembles eating a large plate of unflavored steamed rice, mixed with chicken bits and largely missing salted fish pieces! In response to our comment, the lady boss dashed to our table and hotly argued that "we get is what we pay" and it was their "standard", at $14.50. She added that many customers knowingly ask for added flavor fish and pay more when placing the order! Great food and super friendly staff. Been coming here for years. One of my favorite go to items are the salt baked chicken wings, A1 with fat noodles - soup style, and D1 (steak cube with red rice). If you have more than 4 people in your party, you got to try the beef chow fun- dry stir fried, this is my niece favorite dish. It's a pretty decent size dinning area that fills up pretty quickly. The largest party the dining area can fit is probably about 10 people. If you have a larger party then that, I would suggest calling in advance to see if you can reserve 2 large tables. I've ordered out more than I have dined in. It's a pretty busy plaza so parking is a bit crazy. If you're in the area, I highly recommend you give this place a try. read more
