My former review of Tu Quy! Pt. 1
    Loren P.

Pho Plus 101 used to be Tu Quy, but it seems like they rebranded or something. The last time I went, the staff were the same, so I'm not quite sure. Regardless, this is my absolute favorite place for hot stone bun bo hue. The broth is always on point, and my bowl is packed with tender meat, cha, and house-made meatballs. The noodles are served on the side along with fresh herbs, which you add to the boiling broth yourself. I've also always received a delicious pork hock every time with my bowl, which I love gnawing on. There is always shrimp paste and sate at your table for those of you who like your BBH with an extra funk and kick (like me). I'm currently drooling as I type this review. It's been a while since I've been here and I'll need to go for my BBH fix pretty soon. It's never been super busy whenever I go, so I enjoy dining here as it's pretty quiet and peaceful. Occasionally there have been larger groups dining in, but that's the exception not the norm. The staff are decently friendly and pretty attentive, and I've never had an issue when asking for some extra condiments like lemons. I'm definitely going to continue supporting Pho Plus 101 even with their new rebranding. Their menu is limited, but that's what makes their food so delicious. I've been here almost 10 times and I've only gotten their BBH because it's so consistent and so good. I can't wait to come here more often again this winter! PS: I'm including my old review of Tu Quy below for those of you who are also wondering what happened to the cafe.

Small menu, open later than most places, homemade meats. Conveniently off of 65th and Stockton where the rest of the Asian plaza is. Service is quick and friendly.

There is seating inside as well as some tables and chairs outside as well. I found the coffee and food at The Mill to be excellent. There are many coffee and tea selections as well as some pastries in the front section and waffles. The waffles seem to be the only hot food item there, but it is very popular and is an item totally worth getting. The waffles is an excellent size and has a crispy outside and chewing interior. It comes with powdered sugar all over the top and your choice of jam or maple syrup. I went with the jam and I really enjoyed the waffle with it. The coffee was of very high quality. I had the cold brew with their sweet cream on the top. The cold brew was strong and the cream had a premium stiffness to it that standard coffee places don't do. It was not very sweet and for those who enjoy their coffee with less sugar, this is great. I found the coffee enjoyable throughout my time with it as I sat in the cafe hanging out with my friend. The Mill is a a top notch cafe and well worth a visit.

There is no seating inside but there are a few benches outside. I think the favorite thing I got here was their "not pizza" which was their sourdough bread topped with delicious tomato sauce, cheese, etc. Amazing and so soft and fluffy. I also really enjoyed their banana bread (insanely moist) and egg and ham cup. Prices are reasonable (croissants are less than $5) and service is fast despite the line out the door. Very high quality stuff and worth the drive if you are coming from out of the area. You won't be disappointed. I wouldn't be surprised if this place continues to get more popular. Sac needs more places like this.

Live Bluegrass music at 8 AM. This is what life should be like! I only found this spot because I was nearby and looking for a bite to eat. I heard that there was usually a line out the door and I must've had good timing because there was only about five people in front of me and I was able to walk right in and just have a short wait in line. I grabbed the chocolate banana bread, a garlic bun, a potato and crème fraîche, savory pastry, and an egg and ham pastry. Definitely been on a big banana bread kick lately and this one did not disappoint. Tons of chocolate chips! The garlic bun was by far my absolute favorite. It was crispy and at the same time so buttery like a croissant, and the garlic flavor was amazing. Not overpowering not that spicy garlic taste when a recipe overdoes it, just perfect garlic, butter, crisp and light. Absolute heaven. I was a little sad that I was there alone and no one to share it with so I'm sharing with all of you today... you absolutely have to try this spot Lots of little items for purchase on the shelf to some handmade pottery, hand, carved salad, tongs, and even print of the bakery. This is definitely my favorite find in a very long time

AKA a drag queen walking around and serving a guava Spritz to individuals that were of age to drink and a little bit of trinket making if you wanted to do that. I will call out that if you have a large party it is difficult to find places to sit because there are not a lot of tables underneath the covered area. There's also two tables outside the fence but one of them does not have an umbrella so just being mindful of if it's a sunny day you're going to get hot. So I will be honest I came in a little skeptical about how the food was going to taste because a friend of mine had stated they had come to forgotten bakery about a year ago and he said that he was not very impressed with the food and drink options. I am happy to report that when we went everything was delicious with a capital D. The empanadas that we got: beef chilean, guava; were absolutely phenomenal. The crust of the empanada was perfectly golden brown, and the texture was firm enough where when you opened up the empanada that held its shape well and the feeling inside to not fall easily. Of all of them I would say my top pick in the topic of my husband was the Chilean empanada. We are a suckers for the combination of sweet and savory together and then having that buttery crust is brought everything together. Also the oat milk latte was yummy creaminess is the easiest way to describe it. It went down a little too easily which almost made me get another one but I am sensitive to caffeine and I told myself I'll just have to come back later and get another drink from them. Lastly it is definitely off the beaten path, but so worth the trip to check out this fabulous little place.

I think it makes the sandwich a lot less messy to eat. I also added the scallion cream cheese which was an extra $3 and definitely worth it. The only downside was the price. My sandwich came out to around $17 which feels pretty steep for breakfast. That said, it was delicious and I'd absolutely order it again. I also tried the pistachio cream cold brew latte. It wasn't bad, but it didn't leave much of an impression on me. I honestly don't remember much about the flavor so I'd probably skip it next time and stick with the sandwich. One tip: this place gets extremely busy, so I'd recommend ordering online ahead of time for pickup if you can. It'll save you a lot of waiting.

I came in and purchased 2 cups of coffee set up a table and two chairs. I sat and visited with a long time friend and also family member. We were sitting in our childhood stomping grounds. Time most definitely got away from us and about two hours into our visit the woman working behind the counter decided to clean one side of the dining area. We were the only two people inside sitting and visiting. She began to move the coffee prep bar towards us to clean behind it. I asked her if she needed us to move so she can clean the side and she just copped an attitude immediately with me acting like I was really putting her out of her way. Stopped what she was doing and went in the back. I don't know what her problem was we were paying customers at that point and from the neighborhood. It's a place I come too often, and I always leave a generous tip and have also been a part of the GoFundMe for the various reasons. I really felt like I didn't matter. Maybe they have the wrong person working there in the afternoon. At about 12 o'clock she came to me and said she was gonna close the doors in 10 minutes. Not really sure what that meant except that we only had 10 more minutes to visit and needed to leave. They don't close till 5 o'clock so why would she close the doors just afternoon?

It took half an hour after putting in my order for it to be ready. I went with the Original Milk Bingsoo. They also have a variety of drink options and some pastry items in the case, although I realized I didn't pay any attention to what was in there; my focus was the bingsoo. The bingsoo was good, the only thing I didn't like was the mochi was pretty hard. Great serving size and easy to share with another; I definitely wouldn't be able to finish it myself. Bright, open interior. A few plants throughout. Could probably use a few more tables inside. There was a couple seats available after I ordered, but the tables were taken. The tables did clear out by the time my order was out though. They keep it pretty cool inside, I had goosebumps by the time I was done with my bingsoo. There is limited interaction with the staff, but the person who called my order waited for me to walk to the counter to grab my order after calling my name and number and greeted me with a smile. I would definitely return again! Great, sweet treat in the warming weather.
