The dog and bear ice were cute and a nice one time experience for a good Yelp picture. But, it was not easy to eat nor did it really taste like anything. The teppan set was delicious with just the right amount of seasoning. I loved that the skillet was hot enough to make some of the rice crispy. I've been to Singapore and I was totally missing Laksa and theirs hit the spot. The sparkling Mango soda was very refreshing and would be a great option for the summer. Looking forward to going back and trying other items. The place opens at 11 and they got packed quick and I can see why!

First time here. Great food and good service. Food: - Fried tofu: crunchy and well seasoned. Definitely get again. - Popcorn chicken: top tier, crunchy, chunky, seasoned. What more can you ask for. Would get again - Fried calamari: just ok. Batter was good but the calamari itself was stringy. Would get again only to see if this is how it is all the time. - Sizzling beef plate: soooo good! Love the sauce. It's on the sweeter side. I would have liked to leave the rice on there a little longer to get it crisp up a bit more. Would definitely get again. Drink: - Thai tea with dog: thai tea was standard. They didn't have the dog so they gave me a cat. The cat was a frozen slush. Which is cool!

The restaurant is literally in front of 99 Ranch, not off to one side. That three me off when I was looking for it. It is fairly small but people are in and out so there was no wait while I was there. I had the calamari starter which was okay and nothing special. For my main I had the pork chop with tomato sauce and cheese over rice. The rice is actually a fried rice and was pretty good by itself. The pork chop is tender and flavorful but there's not enough compared to the amount of rice served...good thing the rice was good by itself. I also tried my friend's fried rice and it was very good but again nothing out of the ordinary. What tickled me was my Thai ice tea with a "dog" ice. It looked more like a kitten to me but still cute. The ice tea was tasty too so bonus.

There was no wait when we came in for lunch on Saturday. But it was almost all full. Service was quick and efficient. Lots of options on the menu. All the food came out and it was delicious. Fried foods were perfect and crucnhy. Sizzling dishes had great flavor. Skewers were perfectly cooked. Portions were generous, we had lots of leftovers! The beverages were super cute, although on the sweeter side.

This cafe is right next to (connected to) 99 Ranch. From the outside, it doesnt look like anything special but what got me here were Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. The handmade noodles were delicious with the right amount of chewyness and the sauce was perfect. I do prefer spice so asked for chili sauce and what they gave me was super spicy! I think next time I am in thr area, I will come by to try their desserts! The popcorn chicken was perfect as well. Do not sit on this place and go eat there.

Conveniently located next to Ranch 99, Flame Cafe offers a variety of Hong Kong cafe staples. We had no trouble quickly getting a table when we came before noon, but I've seen lines before during the lunch rush. I ordered the toast, curry beef brisket, baked pork chop with rice, and baked fish fillet with cream sauce. The portions are ample, and the taste is decent. Nothing that will knock your socks off but enough to satisfy that HK food craving.

Flame Cafe has a great, cozy atmosphere, totally giving homey vibes with all the cute decorations everywhere. Festive LED lights brightening the rom while calm songs playing in the background.. just great! I ordered the Beef chow fun and pork chop baked rice. The pork chop baked rice is authentic, specially because the rice underneath is fried rice and not basic white rice. One thing to add is that there isn't enough sauce. Sauce gave the traditional cha chaan teng flavor though. The beef chow fun serving is kind of small, and the beef is kind of chewy. Staff is attentive, good experience overall.

As far as honest truthful review goes, this restaurant's service and dishes were very disappointing. The atmosphere is Hong Kong style cafe, the ambiance, the sound system is all great but the songs that were broadcasted included profanity and it was loud volume like a concert. The food were really really underwhelming. The white sauce corn and fried fish baked rice tasted bland. The fried rice was bland. There was no sauce visible white sauce on the baked rice. It came out in less than 10 mins after ordering. I don't know if you tried baked rice at other restaurants but the speed the dish came out is obviously not a baked rice dish. Another thing ordered was curry beef stew with spaghetti-- the curry was very thin and lacked any flavor, the beef stew was all skinny lean beef stew pieces, the carrots tasted bland like they just added them into the curry separately, the potatoes were fried and then added to the curry separately as well. I didn't take a photo of the curry beef stew when it was came out but it was literally in big cappuccino cups--very difficult to eat so I asked the server for a big metal bowl instead. Never returning. 99% of the 5 star reviews on Yelp for this establishment is fake.

Always come here for ding every bi-weekly with friends and family. Thumb up menu is highly recommended. Service is quick too. Very HongKong Cafe Style

The food here is really good. I like the different type of spaghetti and sauce they offer. The kids love the beef teppan. The hand cut noodles are good too. The cute milk tea drinks with the ice always get me. The service is always attentative here.

The Vibe: Cha Chaan Teng chic. The Strategy: Eat first, regret nothing later. My Therapist Recommended This (Okay, I recommended it to myself) Forget yoga. Forget meditation apps. If you are having a bad week, the cure is sitting right here in this classic hk dish. I call this the "Emotional Support Combo". The Baked Pork Chop Rice: It's basically a warm hug made of cheese and tomato sauce. The pork is tender, the rice is fluffy, and the sauce is tangy enough to make you forget your problems. The Milk Tea: Silky smooth and served in that iconic Black & White cup. It calms the soul while simultaneously waking up the brain. The staff here are basically the care team--they saw my empty water glass and refilled it before I even asked. Total cost: Way less than a co-pay. Side effects: Extreme happiness and a full belly. Absolute comfort food heaven. My diet starts tomorrow (maybe).

I always enjoy coming here when I can for a Hong Kong style meal and it always fulfill a craving! It does get pretty crowded over the weekends but we were still able to get a pretty large group in! The service is pretty good overall and I did feel like it was pretty efficient! There's a large parking lot outside that it shares with 99 ranch but you're able to find somewhere to park!

The interior is lovely and stylish. The food is yummy, and the portions are huge with such price. Great value and very satisfied!

Despite there being endless selections in Sacramento sometimes the American Chinese options are .... bleh ... They are either too oily. Mediocre taste. Overpriced. It's hard to find one that really stands out. Recently my coworkers and I all pitched in on takeout from here for Lunar New Year and ordered five dishes as takeout. One of my coworkers was the one who recommended this spot. Let me just say the food was incredible. The seafood chow mein was the standout dish out of everything. Loaded with octopus tentacles, scallops, shrimp. Feel like half the time you get seafood options these days they skimp out but this place did not disappoint. The fried rice was a little more unique than I've personally tried before with pieces of beef and cabbage. But still very tasty. And the pork dishes we got including the sweet and sour were just incredible. One thing I do want to mention was some pieces of the pork did have a bone attached, but I honestly didn't mind it much. The flavor made it up for it. Also inside of this place looks very modern, clean. Since we only got takeout I can't say for certain service for sit down but ordering and getting our food was simple. The staff were very kind and friendly. Again, THANK GOD I finally have a good Chinese food option. No more oily salty food or Panda Express.

We have tried to dine here a few times last year but had to leave. Why? there was always a moderate smell of propane gas that permeated the dining area...so we opted to leave each time. But today, there was not a propane odor so we decided to dine in and try a few dishes again. So what did we order: 1) Salted fish and chicken fried rice: this dish was very good. flavors of dried salted fish was evident throughout each bite. you could even see the tiny pieces of salted dried fish. nice. chicken was tender. rice kernels did not stick or clump together like some places. And there were pieces of fresh ginger. This dish was very enjoyable. would order this dish again without hesitation. 2) bitter melon and beef in black bean sauce. Another nice flavorful dish. My only suggestion was just a little too sweet for me. I understand the goal is to balance out the bitter by adding sugar but I actually like the bitter flavor and will ask them to eliminate adding sugar to this dish in the future. But if you like this dish with a bitter and more sweet taste, this is your dish. 3) combo plate: chow mein and chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce. Just a basic american style combination dish. Personally, not my type of dish, but my dining companion enjoys these type of dishes. She said the chicken was tender and there was planet of chicken in this entree. But she never received her egg roll. Overall- i would comeback just for the non american style chinese dishes. there versions of traditional chinese dishes are better than the american chinese style dishes.

They replaced those pieces with 1 cut up drumstick. The crispy pork was really good. The vegetables were completely cold. The table next to us ordered the same thing and specifically asked for duck drumstick or duck wing pieces and they weren't told they had to pay extra. The beef brisket clay pot came in a steel hot pot type pot, not clay pot. Full of tendon and ligaments, some cooked lettuce and daikon radish. This was underwhelming and not worth the price. The pork intestine clay pot came on a cast iron pan (like fajitas come on) and was stir fried with onions, bell peppers and red sauce. This was pretty good, but for sure needs to be eaten with rice. The crispy tofu is actually heavily salted and tossed with chopped jalapeños, red chilis and garlic. All you taste is salt. I would not order this again. Another table got the mushrooms/tofu/vegetables dish and that looked really good.

Ordered popcorn basil chicken, chicken with string beans, honey garlic spareribs, and dry beef chow fun. It took a bit for food to arrive. I could see that they had several takeout orders filled during the wait. Food came out all at the same time. The portion size on the popcorn chicken was huge compared to other boba shops. No basil to be found, but that's ok. String beans were crunchy, and there was plenty of slices of chicken breast. It's my niece's favorite dish. The honey garlic spareribs were sweet, but loved the big pieces of garlic. Also, the spareribs were pretty meaty. All in all, this was a great meal for our first time. By the time we finished, restaurant had gotten pretty packed. Service was good. Waitresses were pleasant and helpful. They had conversations with many of the customers while managing the dining room efficiently. Will be back to try other dishes and drinks.
