A unique mini golf experience at urban putt. Most of the holes don't make it feel like mini golfing more like games with a golf ball, but it is a fun idea. They have other small games on the side as will as a bar and TVs if you want to catch any games. Staff was great. Talked to the bartenders and they also gave us a fifa bucket that was part of a promotion they were doing for the World Cup. Didn't get any food but we got drinks before making our way to the course. You can do either 9 or 18 holes. Not sure what the price difference would be but we did the 18 holes which was worth it.

This place was a fun getaway for a couple of hours. There's a full service bar here with a super cool bartender. Grab a drink a play a round. It takes about an hour. Not a huge place. And we went on a day that was kind of busy so we started at hole 9 I think. Then came back around. Some holes are more challenging than others. Overall a very unique set up with some fun themes. Definitely worth a try! There is a private area upstairs for event that can be rented out for those looking for something different.

We came here on a Saturday evening and the venue was moderately crowded. We signed up to play mini golf. We did have to wait for other groups to play in the course before it was our turn but we eventually got to try all of them. I liked how there were many mini golf courses related to the theme of San Jose, where the venue is located. The courses were picturesque too, despite how lowly lit the venue was. When playing, you can hear pop music in the background and other groups chatting. The food smelled good, but we decided to eat elsewhere. Overall, Urban Putt is a great mini golf course and I would return!

When I heard our group was coming here, I thought okay, I'll just watch. I'm so glad I participated. This was so much fun! I'm definitely coming back.

This was my first time going to urban putt. I booked a reservation online for 7:30 pm. I would definitely recommend reservations since there could be a lot of people depending on the day and time of day. We didn't try the food, but we did get the drinks! You're able to keep a tab open and bring drinks with you. Drinks are pretty decent. Nothing too crazy. The course was super fun! I really enjoyed how creative each hole is. There weren't much people when we first arrived, but there were more people as the night went on. The vibes were really great all around! Upstairs were a few arcade games and photobooth. You can also sit upstairs and hang out. Overall, we had a lovely time at urban putt and would def come back!

We had a great time here -- the vibe is awesome and each hole has its own personality. The creative touches, especially the pinball-style holes, were super cool. The only confusing part was figuring out where the front vs. back nine started. The staff wasn't very clear or friendly about explaining how to begin, and the bar service was just okay. Clearer guidance would really help first-timers. It was also pretty crowded, and even with a reservation we had to wait behind a few larger groups. My only other critique: they need more places to set drinks down at certain holes. Overall though, it's a fun and unique experience, and I'd definitely come back!

A fairly new indoor mini golf spot in downtown San Jose. Fairly new because I believe they opened sometime last year just never got a chance to go until recently. Urban putt is 2 floors. Bottom floor has the mini golf and bar. Top floor was the arcade and I'm not sure what else they had because I didn't go up there, I just saw the signs showing what was on the second floor. Urban Putt has 18 unique holes from a crashed UFO to the Shoreline Ampitheater! Loved the theme for each of the holes. They were so cool and I have to say that the Winchester Mystery House was one of my favorites! Definitely was "spooky." Tried their drinks and thought they were ok. Didn't try their foods. Urban Putt is a cool indoor mini golfing spot to check out.

The place is beautiful and fun. They have a nice sitting bar and offer great drinks. The golf course is well planned and had great holes. Service is fast! Overall fun to go with friends or family. Food is decent for a gaming place.

What's up: Team building activity after a sushi dinner! We did some research ahead of time and thought this would be a great thing to try. Indoor mini golf! Parking: We took an Uber here but it looks like there's street parking nearby. Environment: We came later in the evening so the place asked to check for ID before being allowed in. They have a bar as well as a kitchen in addition to the mini golf portion. We went to order a drink first before ordering our mini golf session. Staff members were friendly. The mini golf was very freestyle. Multiple parties are playing at the same time. There's an order you can follow or ignore lol. Each round has different obstacles and activities to do for the holes. And the best part, you can bring your drink along since they have areas where you can place them down or you hold up, up to you. The entire course is black light lit so the neon colored glow in the dark mini golf made it so much more fun! There's also free WiFi. What was ordered: - 10th Street Penicillin (good) - 18 Holes Course Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. I think this is such a fun concept. It's too bad there isn't something like this in our area. But we had fun playing here. Staff members are friendly. Credit cards and ApplePay are accepted.

While the main draw of Urban Putt is the mini-golf, for me it's the excellence service provided at the bar. The bartenders were able to pour me the perfect version of what I was looking for. Big props to Alejandra and Melissa (spelled normally) for their mixing skills

I came here with my boyfriend about two weeks ago. To start off, we grabbed a few drinks. The Winchester old fashioned had some unique flavor while the Caught in the act was pretty tasty. We also ordered pizza that was okay, nothing too special but our waiter was very helpful with the service overall. We played two rounds of their mini golf. We had a lot of fun. It was simple yet fun. I loved the designs on the interior and found it pretty fascinating how well designed everything else. I'll definitely be coming back :)!

Came close to closing and once I told them it was my birthday, they let me golf for free and discounted my friends as well! Great vibes with friends or even a date! Can see how this would be lively on a summer night! Can't wait to come back.

Two of us went to check it out as a possible venue for a MBA Grad gathering in June. WHAT A BLAST! I wasn't sure what to expect but had seen some fun reviews on Yelp so we popped down on a Wednesday night. The 'mini golf' holes were so imaginative and no expense spared on the decor, design and fabulous variety of Silicon Valley style 'holes'. I recommend you read the signs along with way with the history if you are so inclined. Had fun chatting with other 'golfers' along the way as it's very interactive. The food was very good (loved the chicken schwarma & smash burger) and full bar with great options on tap and good wines. Highly recommend it as a family outing, date night or even a corporate gathering as there is a large loft area upstairs with more games. Add Bonus - Urban Putt is right across the street from San Antonio Light Rail stop so no parking downtown needed if you prefer VTA.

Ask the Community - Urban Putt

On average, how long does a game of 18 holes take for 3 people?

You can play 9 holes at a time - 'back 9' first if it's less crowded - and take a break between 9 and 10 for a drink or bite of food. It's quite casual. I think 45 minutes for each 9 holes is plenty of time for planning.

I'm trying to plan a dinner and golf for my friends 40th birthday. We have 4 adults , 4 kids aged 10-13. What time should I reserve for dinner and what time for golf? It's a pain doing them separately, plus kids have to be out by a certain time?

I am organizing a group event as well. I've booked the table for food & drink but will be more flexible with the golf part as not everyone might want to participate or when to golf, so we are doing that as 'walk in'. For the age limit, their…

Does the kitchen close at a certain time?

The kitchen closes 1 hour before closing time.

Is this place kid friendly during the day?

Yes, I felt like it. We went early evening on a Friday and it still felt quite kid friendly. Yes, there's alcohol being consumed, but people did not seem rowdy, used appropriate language, and staff picked up finish drink glassware from the golfing…

    Do they have take out?

    No take out available.

Hi... are 7-8 yr old kids allowed for mini golf and dinner?

Yes, Urban Putt is 21 and up after 8 pm, but all ages are welcome before then.

Is this location really open now? There seem to be mixed reports.

Urban Putt San Jose will be opening on February 29 at 4 pm. Feel free to ignore any reports to the contrary. --Steve Fox, Chief Greenskeeper

Anyway, I met up with some friends here last weekend and we had a reservation at Alter Ego. I guess it's technically 2 places with Still OG. I have to say, I have really fond memories of Original Gravity from back in the day (ah, the days of my youth...) so it's nice that it's still sort of around though.. technically completely different since there's no more craft beer or duck fat fries lol. We hung out at our table for the whole night, like 4 hours. We all ordered cocktails off the menu and later on ordered some stuff off the menu based on the bartender's suggestion. I first ordered a Calabrian Spritz from the menu which hit the spot for me. Personally, I am not a hard alcohol fan but I enjoy wine and fun lil cocktails that are slightly sweet/not super strong lol. So this drink was nice because it wasn't too sweet and had a lot of volume (I like just sipping on stuff in general and it sucks when you order a cocktail that's like 3 sips of liquid and the rest is ice). The next cocktail I ordered was off the menu and called Like This or That (I think). I think it was some sort of passionfruit + vodka mix and very delicious! We also ordered the cold soba noodles and fries. Fries were crinkle cut and nicely crispy, no complaints. Soba noodles were also good, though some component of it was really spicy, I think the cucumbers. Overall I had a good time here and look forward to coming back, though given how little I go out, who knows when that will be haha.

We quickly learned that it's actually closer to $40 since you need to buy a $14-17 mocktail/cocktail. I'll be honest, I don't drink that much so I can't tell you if that's expensive but it does feel like a bit of a bait and switch. We ordered truffle fries, koji wings, the classic burger and two prime rib dinners. All of the food arrived at different times so some of it was already cold before we started eating. I know we could start eating whatever comes out first but let's be honest. Dining with friends is a very social event and it's somewhat standard for dishes to arrive together. I also ordered subbed truffle fries, was charged the sub, but ended up getting regular fries Food-wise, the koji wings were pretty good. There was a good amount of seasoning and the breading texture was super crispy. The meat itself was a bit bland. Truffle fries were super crunchy and had a balanced truffle flavor. Burger was fine. I've definitely had and made better burgers before. It was a pretty standard burger. Cooked good. A bit overpriced for how mild of a burger it was though. Prime rib was a huge portion. I only had a couple bites from my friends but it seemed well-seasoned. Some parts were nice and tender but the red parts were very chewy. Overall, main dishes were OK in portion but lackluster in experience. Side portions are on the smaller end considering their price but generally delicious. Considering their extensive alcohol collection, I think this place is definitely known for its vibe and drinks rather than its food. Staff seem super friendly though! Especially the bartenders

Gnocchi was pillowy with a hint of lemon in the ricotta filling and those mushrooms gave a nice touch to that cream sauce. You would think fried chicken breast would translate to dried out but it didn't. It was crispy on the outside and they did it just right to maintain the juicy center. The waiter overheard it was my birthday and brought me an order of bread pudding with ice cream with a candle to sing happy birthday to me before bringing out the beignets we ordered for dessert. Those beignets btw, crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside and all the sauces it came with paired beautifully with it. Perfection! Thank you for being such gracious hosts and creating such edible master pieces.
