Because of my medical insurance changed, I was told to go to a chain pharmacy in Lombard. Now 3 years later it changed and I am able to return to Lombard Pharmacy. I missed their helpful, friendly staff but most of all their accuracy in filling prescriptions. The chain pharmacy I was referred to seldom got my prescriptions correct not to mention many other problems. read more

This pharmacy was great but then something happened and it went really down hill. I used their mail service to get my prescriptions delivered. First they stopped autorefilling my prescriptions, with no notice at all, causing me to miss a few days of my medications. Then they decided to just stop carrying medicine they used to carry- again with absolutely no notice at all. This company does not care about it's patients at all. read more

Really great local pharmacy with plenty of off-the-shelf options for therapy-type support garments, tape, canes, walkers, and adaptive equipment for the bathroom. I don't use them as my regular pharmacy since it's a bit of a hike from my house, but I would if I lived locally. No wait to check out, loads of clerks on hand to answer questions, and plenty of free parking in a big lot. Convenient location right on Main Street. Nicely accessible with automatic doors and very wide aisles. The merchandise is well-stocked, nicely curated, and organized. read more

I noticed that Lombard Pharmacy had a lot of assistance equipment in their window so I took my mother over there. Jessica immediately approached us and with her vast knowledge and experience, we were "walking" out the door with a perfectly fitted cane in no time! I am so impressed with their array of merchandise and products for this age group and feel at ease knowing they are close by and fully stocked! I have used Lombard Pharmacy for filling my prescriptions for almost a year now. I love how easy it is to call in and get my script refilled using their automated system. I've had to call in before when I messed up and selected the wrong selection but they were very helpful and kind on the phone. They helped fix it so my refill would be mailed. I used to be very happy with this pharmacy, but it is definitely going downhill. I hope that it reverses course. The phone hold times are very bad. IF one gets to speak with someone they will usually "cold transfer" to someone else (so you have to give them all the info again), and on a particularly bad day you will get more than one cold transfer. There is only one business area - an open space behind the pharmacy counter - so there is no real need for the repeated transfers of calls. The person (female) who gave me my latest vaccine botched it pretty badly - lots of blood and bruising, which isn't typical for me. They will tell you that your prescription will be ready by a particular time, but when you go to get it it is not ready. They have about 11 ~20 year-olds working behind the counter. It seems to be too many, because they are just confused all of the time and rarely accomplish anything. My advice is to cut down on the number of young people working there in order to increase the sense of personal accountability of the ones who remain. The kicker is that my prescriptions have been on backorder for many months now, even the ones that are very, very, very standard and should definitely be on the shelf. Every other pharmacy has them on the shelf and is as mystified as I am about the long-term backordered status. Perhaps Lombard Pharmacy needs to get a new supplier. They certainly aren't getting the stock they need in order to run a pharmacy from their current supplier. I sincerely hope that Lombard Pharmacy will get its act together very soon, because - as the Yelp reviews show - they are rapidly losing decades of hard-won goodwill and loyalty. I REALLY try to use Lombard Pharmacy because I like to support local family-owned businesses, but as of late they have been making it impossible for me to do so. Getting a prescription filled and in-hand from Lombard Pharmacy these days is like trying to acquire an appliance from Sears in their final years. read more

Worst customer service I have ever received would never recommend. They were very rude and nasty when telling me they would no longer be carrying my migraine medications. This is no way to treat patients. I have informed both my provider and my insurance company who are all looking into the issue! Taking my business elsewhere as it is no longer a priority of yours! It is nice to see that places like this still exist in America and they are not overrun by large corporation who are looking to rob you when you are sick. They were great when I started using them 6 years ago but they've consistently gone downhill. I spend hours a year dealing with mistakes and incorrectly filled perscriptions from the wrong manufacturers to the wrong dosage. Pretty commonly, they will say they submitted a refill request to my doctor only for my dr to say they don't have anything from them. This could be a system issue, but both the dr's office and the pharmacy make this my problem instead of working to resolve the issue. Moved back to Walgreens. read more

I like to try and support local and Lombard Pharmacy has been my pharmacy for over 50 years but today they really aggravated me and the service has taken a dive. I got a call that my Rx was ready. Drove in and went to drive through b/c I'm fairly sick and there was one car in front of me. They LITERALLY sat there for 45+ minutes!!! Why wouldn't the person at the window say your Rx is going to take an hour so please park and come in. Not a hard call. So I'm miserable in the car, ran out of tissues bc I didn't plan on it taking an hour to pick up my Rx. I finally opened the door and yelled "come on" and the guy in the car called the check out person, talked to them and then they left, still without whatever they were waiting for. Also, when I called about the order to see if it was ready they said "for the amoxicillin" and I said, no, it is for augmentin. Then whoever answered the phone said those are the same thing, it's just a trade name. That is not true. Augmentin is amoxicillin plus clavulanate. May be going to CVS from here on out. They are polite and quick. Picked up my daughter's meds there today also and they were super helpful and quick. read more

I was placed on auto refill without authorization, I had no knowledge I was on auto refill so with that said, when the medication was affecting my self with hair loss, I opted out . I received the prescription which I did not order. I called this a.m. spoke to the young woman informed her that I received the medication I'm no longer taking it due to hair loss ,medication is not working for myself...I would like to send it back it has not been opened . She responded. Let me check with a manager . I was informed that I did not cancel the automated delivery so I could not return the medication "which I knew nothing about ...Because I did not cancel and I received it I could not send it back. I responded. I had no idea it was on auto ship. I did not sign up for that. She said I was placed on AutoShip. I did not ask for AutoShip. I said that's fine. I will just give a review reflecting this issue . My husband is a Vietnam Veteran and we have limited funds but I suppose Lombard pharmacy needs the One Hundred Dollars more than a Vietnam Vet... My 85 yo father had hip surgery. The therapist told him to get 3" toilet riser and walker. He called Lombard Pharmacy. Without asking what style toilet was in the house, they charged for an extended bowl riser. He tried to install it. He didn't understand why it wouldn't fit securely. He calls pharmacy. They tell him to call Nova the manufacturer. This reveals pharmacy sold the wrong item. The pharmacy refused to accept return and does not stock standard bowl riser. This is deceptive practice towards a fixed income senior. Shame on the pharmacy not knowing the details of what products they sell. read more

I've been going here for many years and lately the customer service has gone done hill. My prescriptions are never ready even though I give them a couple days to fill them. They tell me they don't have a refill in their computer when there is one. They tell me they called my dr. for a refill and when I call my dr. I am told they haven't heard from the pharmacy. I've been going here for about six years. Up until the past six months, I would give the pharmacy five stars. The past six months however have been frustrating to say the least. Wait times on the phone sometimes approach an hour. The past three times that I've had prescriptions filled, the order was never completed on time, and was never fully complete. This is truly the only pharmacy in the world to me! I don't know how this place can get any better?- unless they started serving drinks... But, that's not going to happen... Or is it? This place is what people are hoping for when the enter big chain places or as I like to call them... "Those who will not be named.." This is a real pharmacy - It you are looking to pick up a 2 liter of mountain dew with your diabetes medication... Not the place for you! They are generous with their time and supporting the community! I even like that it's like the waiting room for heaven as the older generation waits for their meds... I have two parents ( I know we all do ) One who's life was completed a few years ago and there was no end to the compassion and service this collection of remarkable people provided. I will always be grateful for that! I could go on about the excellent customer service/attention to detail/remarkable personalities and never ending community support. Stay away! I went to buy a compression garment. I knew what I needed, but wanted to know if they had it in black. Before I could even say why I was there, the woman started scolding me for how I was wearing my current device, grabbed my hand and started adjusting it to how she decided it should be. She would not even stop talking long enough to let me explain why it was that way, and when I started to say, "My therapist set it that way because" she cut me off and started criticizing my therapist while informing me how much experience she had. I asked her to stop because I am a physician and wouldn't let my therapist do something I did not approve of, but she just kept going and still would not let me speak. The only phrase I was able to get out was "I will not be needing your services" before I left. There are multiple problems with this. First of all, she didn't listen to me in the first place, which is completely unhelpful and very rude. Second, she started manipulating my hand without permission to touch me and without knowing anything about it, so she could not know she was grabbing a hand recovering from surgery, and one with a very precarious recovery that has very specific restrictions on how I can touch or move my hand. It was not her place and was completely inappropriate for her criticize my provider. Providers spend a lot of time assessing patients and developing treatment plans, so I do not appreciate someone assuming they know better than the person who has been treating a patient, especially without speaking to the provider or even listening to the patient. read more

When I try to think of Lombard businesses of which I'm proud to have, Lombard Pharmacy is the first business on my too-short list. It's a throwback to friendly pharmacies, when the pharmacists would know you by name (and sell cigarettes, long long ago), but it still offers a lot. They know what they're doing here. They offer advice. They support the community. They share laughs with you. Dang, I wish I could go to their Christmas party. If you're all about price, and if you're looking to get something for the absolute cheapest price (and quality), this won't be the place. Why not? Because they don't pedal sub-standard merchandise and force their employees to work for sub-standard wages. Lombard Pharmacy is the standard for quality, service and community. I stopped into Lombard pharmacy recently to purchase a cane for my husband who had had hip surgery. They were super helpful and ordered one for him (he's really tall, so what was in stock wouldn't work). I then asked the pharmacist about an expensive prescription that my husband needed, but we were told insurance wouldn't cover. She spent the time doing some extra research, and we ended up getting the prescription at a very reasonable price. read more

There aren't enough stars to show how wonderful this pharmacy is!! They have worked with me to get a special spray I need for my scalp that I could not find anywhere else. Then on top of how great that is, just a few days ago I left a half baked message trying to refill this perscription. I figured I would call them back later and leave a more complete refill request, but I forgot all about it. Just a few hours later they called me to confirm the refill and called my doctor to get the authorization. I've had the most frustrating experience trying to get a prescription filled. It's been 2 months since my doctor sent in the script and I still don't know if it will be filled (and shipped to me) ever. Just got off the phone with perhaps the most bland person ever. On one phone call about a month ago I provided a credit card number for the $45 copay. I waited and waited, it was never shipped. I called again, and gave the same information; they repeated the name of the product; it was wrong, but were ready to charge me $99 copay. Today I got a text message asking me to call with a cc # and to verify the shipping address. While I was given a phone number to call, they failed to say which menu option to use. So I guessed. My guess was right but I waited 3 full minutes for someone to answer. When it's time to refill this script, I'll have to beg my doctor to find another pharmacy. Really - 2 months to fill this? And I still don't have it. read more

This is the "Cheers" of the pharmacy world: where everyone there knows your name. It is the last of the late great pharmacies where you are treated like a person, not someone with an insurance card. I can truly say that almost every single professional there talks to you on a personal level and is there to help, happily so. Even when everyone walking in the door looks like death warmed over or sounds like they are about to cough up a lung, Craig's people look up and are empathetic. Yes, this is part of the chain of what is called "Health-mart" pharmacies, but they really do it their way. For me to review a pharmacy speaks to the service that they offer. It's located on a main drag and they do deliver. All I can say is that I hope they never drop their high standards. read more

Great selection of support braces and that sort of thing. Mary got me fixed up with the right sort of brace that my doctor recommended and was very helpful and personable. She even offered to special order an item if they didn't have it in my size, but that wasn't necessary. The prices aren't dirt cheap, but it's worth it for great service and the feeling that they would try to make it right if the product didn't work for me. If I ever need any sort of medical product again, this is where I'll be going. read more

I started with this pharmacy about 6 months ago . However , my last 2 times picking up the same prescription , they were out of stock and said the issue was resolved . I went to pick up this last time and again they were out of stock and that it was a ordering error but was fixed . They used the same excuse both times . The service at the drive-thru window was terrible , the technician didn't listen that all I wanted was my prescription back so I could have filled elsewhere , this took 10 minutes before she asked for help or figured out .
