This CVS store very rarely if ever answers their phone. No matter what time of the day, I have yet to get my call answered after waiting more than 10 minutes. I had a problem with a prescription on Friday, July 12 and I was at the Lombard, Il CVS. Corbin, the pharmacist, and Nehemiah, the tech, were so helpful and patient as they worked to my prescription transferred and filled. it took over an hour to contact other pharmacies that were unable to do their job by sending the prescription. Unfortunately the medication was not available at the Lombard location but they sent the prescription to the Addison CVS and made certain that the prescription was ready and I finally was able to get it. I have a bad infection in my leg and a compression fracture in my back. My doctor was very very quick as fast as she could get the prescription in. She sent it to CVS at 7:35 at night. They confirmed they got it at 7:40. As I got to the drive-through at 7:47. They looked at each other, tried to check it out eventually a blonde girl and a dark haired boy came to the window telling me it's too late for them to fill it out as they are closing soon and they don't have time to fill it. They told me if I wanted it. I have to drive all the way to Elmhurst to get it. Elhurst took 10 minutes to fill the prescription. Which means the Lombard location had time to also do the job. But they refused to do it as they told me they want to get out on time and leave at 8 o'clock. That's terrible how you're treating your customers in the pharmacy. Well phone trees that go no where voicemail systems that cut off mid recording automated system that don't prompt you that you are too early to renew but just don't work and that's before you have any interaction with an actual blank because I'm not sure what they think their employees are. Okay the level of disservice the supposed live bodies exist for is rude and non existent. They are either not trained , trained to be rude , ignorant, or have found a safe haven job for their contempt of human beings as whole. Mohamed is a stellar example when called out on his behavior just hang up since obviously it would take an hour to get back to a human in the store. This is the worst run retail establishment I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. Every. Single. Time. I. Come. Here. There. Is. A. Problem. I am canceling my prescriptions today. I was just on hold for 17 min to for a 3 second interaction. The only reason I made the dumb decision to call is because I KNOW you will disappoint me if I were to come in when you said the RX would be ready. The incompetence doesn't stop in the pharmacy. I will absolutely never get a photo printed here again either. I had to walk over and grab the photo off of a tray after arguing about the fact that it was there and not under the counter somewhere. Today after a visit to the ER and covid testing and bronchitis. I was refused my medicine the doctor sent them at 710. We arrived at 749. They close at 8. Said they close in 7 minutes you will have to come back tomorrow. After insisting I have to breathe I can't breathe need albuterol inhaler and fluid for nebulous. I was told to come in with my husband. I said your sure I haven't got my covid back takes 24 hours. Large white male stated yes and scoffed. Inside while coughing my brains out he then asks me for all my information insisting they close and only the in hailer can be done. Etc. then my husband gets upset because I started crying. Cuz I'm sick and feel terrible and had to walk into a store they told me to isolate. The pharmacist would not look me in the eye just keep shaking her head. She was a African American female. Snidely uoset I gave you the inhaler. The. My husband started asking why if it was here for 40 minutes why would you make a sick person come in. And not help her. Because of covid they close earlier than normal. They call the manager to get me a D product that is OTC and Flonaise I paid full price because she wouldn't do her job. Also called the manager to check us out because they were off duty. I am so sick and so upset. I did spray some cough out of my mask. So I wouldn't go to this location. For months now they have making me run out of my medication because of the unique moral turpitude of the pharmacist dispensing it for me. He's verbally stated that he wants me to run out of my medication before he will refill it. And he has done this several times. He has made my doctor call in several times and doesn't even listen to his advice. He gives me unsolicited advice and treats me like a child while asking me why I'm taking other medications in my file which is not even pertinent to the situation. They deny manufacturer's coupons, make me pay out of pocket for things that the manufacturer would have paid for, make me wait an over an hour long line while I'm in absolute agony because I just had back surgery, always lose my prescriptions, always send me back to the drop off line, and every CVS I have been to repeat these policies as if it's written in their employee handbook. I've called corporate a couple times and CVS is still one of the worst places on Earth. It's listed as "HELL ON EARTH" in my telephone. I would love to change but my insurance company will only allow me to fill certain medications through them! Hopefully my insurance company will drop them as they did in another state. As I will be going out of the country for work, my MD wanted me to update a chunk of immunizations. Even though that option would not make my top ten list of fun filled things to do, I figured that when traversing the tropics of wherever with my trusty back pack the last thing I wanted to be concerned about was some sort of plague. Though he didn't carry what I would require, and didn't want to charge me an arm or leg to order it in, (which I appreciated), he felt that some local agencies would offer the shots at a relatively low cost, and would also be "on hand". Okay, I called the "County". One would figure they would have just about everything. After being transferred 4 times, and listening to the obligatory messages 4 times, my patience was wearing thing. Yes, they had them ... but only 2x a month. Hmmm. I called my local pharmacy: oh yes, no problem, we can order it in. Hmmm. I called a competitor of my local pharmacy: and listened to nice music for 15 minutes. Hmmm. Then, I called a place I had never been to: CVS. It was close, they answered the phone, the technician on the phone was not only pleasant but said, "come on down and we will take care of it now". Huh? Well, off I went. The paperwork was easy, the staff was pleasant and efficient, and the pharmacist who innoculated me did a better job than most of the RN's I know. Wow. Sometimes when you least expect it a spot comes through for you, in a very big way. Not only am I quite likely to take my business there, but I really appreciated the experience (even though it involved needles). Thanks and keep up the great work. read more

I used to live nearby - so my doc sent my prescription to the 'old' pharmacy. Well, I went straight over to pick up my seven pills and was told it would be another 30 minutes. Huh?!? Nothing takes that long. Additionally, the soft drink delivery truck was parked in all of the parking spaces closest to the front door making all of their customer walk....at 10:30 in the morning. Moved here about a year ago and this was the closest cvs. Previous cvs was great, got all the updates on the app, etc. Besides being the slowest pharmacy in the world, communication is poor and really they are not friendly at all. This is our last time going there. Doctor called in meds at 10am, 4pm I get a voicemail saying they don't have one of them. I call there and they say I can go to another cvs for the antibiotic but that the other two are ready to pick up. I go there, wait in the drive up for 25 minutes (if you think going inside helps, it doesn't)... plus I had a 4-month old in the car. Get to the window and Wow, the other scripts are not ready like they said. Wait another 10 minutes, six cars behind me, and then have to drive to another cvs just for Zithromax. Now it's 6pm. Last time I went in the store a woman was in there with her pet dog. It urinated in the aisle. Go to the counter to get the prescription and one person is working the window while another tech and pharmacist ignore you. They see me but go about their business. I know they have tasks but not even a "We'll be right with you." The tech brings me the medicine, tells me the cost and as I pull out cash she turns around and starts doing other tasks/ putting meds in drawers. I did say, "What are you doing? I'm trying to pay here," and she says oh I thought you were paying with a card. Previously made an appointment for my sons Covid vaccine, waited 30 minutes past our time. They actually said the pharmacist is on break. Meanwhile a woman shows up super late for her vaccine appointment and they take her before us. We were in there well over an hour past our time. No apologies. Honestly I don't know why we kept going there other than it's super close. This is the end. Not going to use CVS at all anymore. They just know that regardless of what they do you need your medicine. read more

The pharmacists here are quite honestly the most dense I have ever encountered. I recently went to fill a generic brand prescription of a common medication, and I was told that they would get more in within the week. A week later, I tried to fill again and was told that they "probably weren't going to order anymore", despite the fact that I had a prescription for it and needed the medication. I also take a skin medication that is registered through the ipledge program. This program regulates the distribution of all brands of accutane, and I'm no pharmacist myself but I believe it is very well known and frequently used. The technician did not know how to work the system. I spent 90 minutes waiting for her to figure out how to use the program, and then another 25 minutes for her to actually get the prescription together. I have never met such dim-witted pharm technicians. I would passionately advise others to NOT take their business here, read more

I had written this review on Facebook last summer. I came across my receipt from this particular store just recently, and recalled the terrible prejudiced employee immediately. Thinking that Yelp is a more effective site for business reviews, I am bringing my experience here. If you're a minority, or at least have brown skin, watch yourself in this store because Lois will be jumping to call the authorities on you! August 24 2016: Had an interesting experience here this morning. I was just in to purchase a few random items. It was raining heavily, and there was only one employee I saw, a woman named Lois (I think. It began with an L.) As I neared the register, I noticed an older Indian man come in, and Lois tailed him immediately, asking him if he needed help finding anything. He needed Ponds, or something. I could hear her talking loudly to him, and while I thought it was odd, I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she just felt he needed extra help. I had been waiting to check out for a few minutes at this point, so I just chimed the little bell on the counter. A minute or so later, she comes to the counter and apologizes for the wait. Then she says, "It looked like he had something in his umbrella." My heart started pounding. I am half Indian, my dad is brown, and I have dealt with this and heard this prejudice my entire life. My heart broke. "That's a little racist," I replied, but I don't think she heard me. She continued to check me out, talking in a phony, chipper, absolutely grating voice as my heart rate skyrocketed. When the purchase was finally complete, I said to her, "Be careful who you judge. My father looks just like that man." And I went immediately to my car because I had started to cry. I am absolutely disgusted not only that someone could have such ignorant and prejudiced thoughts but also that they would so publicly vocalize them, as a representative of the company for which they work. I am so sad and disappointed in the world, and this employee of this CVS only solidified that I will always be surrounded by bigots, no matter where I am. read more

My prescription showed up that it was filled but I didn't fill it, it would have been 1 1/2 months too early, so I call in but after repeating my name 5 times, I'm not even in the system. Tech doesn't even know what generic flonase is, had to ask for my ID twice and grabbed my phone into the store. The FDA should audit this establishment before someone gets a big mistake. Must be cheap because my insurance forces this or mail order. I enjoyed being treated like a criminal at the next closest location. No sense of customer service or sympathy. S-l-o-w-e-s-t service ever. I've been to this particular CVS several times now and every time I've been there it's been something. First time there I was standing at the counter waiting for SOMEONE to acknowledge my presence. Staff kept walking by, looking at me and never said a thing, like "We'll be right with you". This went on for 10 minutes before I had to say something to them. It was as if I was invisible. TOTAL PET PEEVE. Today I went to pick up an Rx for my son (who had to get back to school) and the pharmacist only gave him 10 pills instead of the 20 pills the RX called for. When I called to ask them to get the other 10 pills ready for me to pick up asap, I had to hear a sob story about how she "would try" but the pharmacy is short staffed and Mondays are rough. SERIOUSLY?? I was the first (and only) customer there when they opened the pharmacy so anyone who came in after me should have to wait an extra two minutes while she prepared the rest of my Rx that she messed up in the first place. I would definitely NOT use them if my son's insurance accepted Walgreens. Sadly, they don't. The only reason I give this pharmacy 2 stars instead of one is because the pharmacist was sweet. otherwise it would get one star. read more
