Rosemary garlic lamb chops with red wine demi-glace over mashed potatoes was the standout, three chops cooked exactly right, the sauce was rich and not an afterthought. Ribeye with the aged spice rub was also solid, good char and came out the right temp. Cocktail program is legit for a hotel bar, terrace seating outside works well if the weather is good. I brought my friend here for a lunch after picking her up from the airport. The name "London Bar and Grill" suggests an upscale, classy place. When we entered, I was taken aback to see a diner atmosphere. Not what I expected at all, but hey - give it a try. I had read some good reviews of the food. We sat down, and there was no waitstaff in view - only a couple of fellows at the bar, watching the World Cup game. When the waitress did appear, I ordered a salad with salmon, usually a reliable choice. The salad itself was fine, but the salmon was insanely salty. I couldn't eat it. Who puts that much salt on salmon? I do not recommend, except maybe that they change their name to Hegenberger Diner or something similar. read more

We were very surprised to learn this was in the Springhill Suites. But it certainly didn't disappoint. Talk about generous portions, very fresh and high quality meals. They nailed it. There were lots of great reviews about the bartender. He is really fun. And what a cool vibe from the folks who were here: Some hotel patrons and others, walk ins like us. London Bar and Grill is located in the Springhill Suites by Marriot. This made parking convenient and easy. I came here for their Happy Hour, which is 4 - 7 pm, M - F. Their special is 40% off appetizers and the beer on tap. I ordered the Crispy Calamari which was different. It was coated in batter, but contrary to it's namesake, was not very crispy. It seemed like they only deep fried it for a short time. On the plus side, the rings were quite tender. But for some reason the arms was rubbery and almost inedible. I also had The Nachos with steak. This was fully loaded and large. Ingredients were very fresh and well-diced. In a pleasant reversal, there was way more of the toppings than chips. The steak, though, was tough, and they should have made more an effort to tenderize it. I get that you're not going to have high quality steak for nachos, but chewing it shouldn't be cardio work for my jaw muscles. The server was friendly, but never checked if I needed anything after he brought my order. Also, he was slow to bring things I asked for after I flagged him down. Surprising for a spot that is quasi-classy. I did like that the place was bright and clean with new big screens on the walls. We really enjoyed London Bar and Grill and will definitely order again! Taking off a star because some of the produce seemed not up to standard. On Doordash there's no way to customize anything and they don't take special instructions or advance orders, which can be challenging in a household with a food allergy, but we lucked out and didn't end up with any surprise allergens. Biggest hit was the herb crusted salmon with lemon caper sauce. Super flavorful. We both would reorder. The rib eye steak survived reheating fine, nothing too exciting, mashed potatoes were a little dull, but the side vegetables (carrots and asparagus) had great flavor and were a perfectly fine texture. Fish and chips: might not reorder. The slabs of fish are huge and the interior has no flavor, fries were great, side coleslaw was unpleasant and I wouldn't want to eat it again. Side of garlic bread with entree salads was lovely but noting for the future I wondered if it might have egg in it, which means my spouse couldn't eat it. Salads : the house salad was fine, balsamic vinaigrette worked well for my spouse, I wouldn't order thousand Island dressing again, the cucumber was cut overly large and the cherry tomatoes really mushy. Salmon salad was great with ranch except the orange segments seemed canned, which surprised me for the price point of the salad. Walnuts seemed a little out of place in this salad but the apples and cranberries were enjoyable. Kids' Mac and cheese: long flat noodles (were they out of elbow macaroni?), otherwise serviceable, probably wouldn't order again. Really enjoyed the cobb salad and would order again, grilled chicken reheated well. All in all very solid even if the produce wasn't thrilling! The airline chicken had a wonderful Marsala wine and mushroom gravy that went perfect with the mashed potatoes. The veggies were cooked perfectly and not overdone. You could tell they made the mashed potatoes fresh for my dish-- yum!! The fish and chips looked like what I've seen served in England, so good job there. My husband said they tasted good. There was ample quantities of food served with both meals. The food was served quickly and paying the bill was super efficient. The atmosphere is casual and laid back with basketball games on the 3 TVs in the place. It looks like they a full bar of alcohol to choose from for drinks. There was plenty of seating. My wife and I wanted a snack when we arrived at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites. E checked in at around 9p. The London Bar and Grill opened until 11p during the weekdays which is very convenient. My wife ordered blush wine and chocolate Bundt cake and I ordered the Angus burger. Angus burger - 5/5 I ordered the burger to be cooked medium. Most of the time it comes back well done. This burger was perfectly cooked medium (see pic). The burger had a nice char making the taste like it was grilled over charcoal. The bun was excellent, the tomato firm not over ripe, the right amount of lettuce and red onions and a dill pickle slices on the side. It came with fries which were cut shoe string style. The fries were crisp and tasty. Overall, an excellent burger. Chocolate Bundt cake - 5/5 My wife's chocolate Bundt cake was moist, just the right sweetness and coated with a chocolate shell. An excellent dessert! To top it off, my wife was given a small container of Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream! The perfect combination!! Our server, Nicole provided excellent service. She was attentive, professional and very friendly. Our experience at the London Bar and Grill was excellent! We looked this restaurant up on our way to Oakland airport. Not knowing it's in the SpringHill Suites Hotel. We decided to stay and try it although hotel food is somewhat of a crap shoot. Our waitress was a sweetheart. The menu was interesting, I ordered flatbread with the Alfredo sauce, husband ordered the Salmon salad. What a treat. The flatbread was excellent, hot and the cheese was bubbly., lots of pepperoni! The salad was excellent as well, apples, walnuts, tangerine slices, large chunks of salmon cooked to perfection! Not dry! I highly recommend this surprisingly excellent little restaurant, hidden in a hotel. I think more thought could have gone into decorating.
