9/14/24 The man working at the Chandler location was dismissive and rude. I went in with my grandmother's ring that had been passed on to me. I told him all the work I would like done on it, and then said I'd also like it cleaned but I know some of the prongs need checking before it could be cleaned, (I've learned this from another jewelry store that they won't put it in the sonic cleaning device if prongs are bad), he said he could clean it for me and just do his best, but not put it in the machine. Then he asked me if I only needed it cleaned, which was strange because I just got done telling him the list of things I wanted repaired on it, but he was too dismissive and rude to even listen to me. I said I would like a cost estimate of everything I had listed to be repaired and he took my ring to the back to show the manager. When he came back with the ring he told me it was more expensive to repair the ring, and suggested I build a new ring from scratch. I asked the prices of both and he told me 2k to repair, and 2,500 to build from scratch, so in actuality it was cheaper to fix. He handed me back the ring after telling me the prices, and acted like the conversation was done and it was time for me to go. I asked if he could clean it then, like he had mentioned previously, and then acted frustrated with me saying he can't clean it until the prongs were fixed. His tone was so rude, like he was annoyed I even asked, even though he had stated earlier that I could get it cleaned just not in the machine. It's also weird that he didn't really wait to hear what I wanted to do with the ring, and just assumed I didn't have the money to fix it, he didn't even suggest getting things fixed little by little, or come up with a plan to fix the ring. I would've liked to talk to someone that was happy to help me and not just someone that brushed me off out of the way. I am a younger woman, and maybe he assumed I don't have the money and I was a waste of his time, that was the feeling I got to be honest....but I don't know. I was extremely frustrated and just left. I went into London Gold to see if they could fix my wedding ring that had lose prongs. My diamond was moving around and I didn't want the stone to fall out. I also had a missing baguette that needed to be replaced. Dustin greeted me and made me feel welcomed and comfortable. He looked at my ring and gave me estimates for how much it would cost to fix my ring. He gave me different options as he walked me through the steps. He let me be a part of the process by letting me look through the jewelry loupe to see what my ring looks like up close. I left my ring and on my way out they had treats and coffee and invited me to have some. I was all over that! I received a call from Dustin a couple of days later because the Jeweler had found that one of my baguettes was smashed. I said it was okay for them to go ahead and fix it. I wanted everything to be perfect on my ring. Fast forward another couple of days I received a call from Dustin that mly ring was ready!!!! I was SOOOOO excited. I rushed to London Gold to see my baby. Dustin greeting me with a smile and brought out my ring. IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL! I went to London Gold to buy my replacement engagement ring since I lost my first one. After only 2 months of having the ring the diamond became loose and I took it back on a Friday to get it tightened. The lady took my ring to the person to tighten it and within 15 minutes she brought me my ring back and I left without inspecting bc I didn't think I need to check their work. On Saturday morning I was looking at my ring and noticed easily visible rough divots in multiple of the prongs holding my diamond. I took it back to London gold that day and the man started making it seem like it's my fault asking if I was in a rush? Even if someone was does that constitute your company to do a poor job. I left my ring to get repaired for the damaged they caused and left feeling very uneasy about the work that will be done. I returned to pick up my ring and he doesn't greet me only brings the ring to me, doesn't say sorry for what happened or make sure I'm happy with my ring and that it was properly fixed. I take the time to actually look at it this time due to their lack of credibility and I still saw a small scratch in one of the white gold prongs but the other larger divots where gone. I tell him I see a scratch and he starts to gaslight me and say that three other people looked at it and said it looked good. Instead of listening to the customers concern and trying to fix an issue he was instead gaslighting me. He takes a look after saying this and takes it back to the jeweler to look at. After several minutes he comes back and gives me the ring. Doesn't explain what the jeweler did or saw. I looked over the ring again while he still said nothing, no apologies no trying to make sure I'm happy with the result nothing, he just started looking through some drawers instead of making sure the damaged that they caused was properly taken care of. I felt so uncomfortable with the customer service that I will not be buying my two wedding bands, my fiancé wedding band from here. When I first bought my ring I recommend them to my sisters boyfriend bc he wants to propose soon but now I will not let him buy her ring from here after this experience. Donna and Chris May be my favorite people on the planet! I had broken my antique wedding band and went in for a repair. They couldn't fix it how they suggested being the bands were different metals. They could Sauter it but didn't suggest it since they didn't think it would hold. It's my wedding ring I had to try! But a few months down the line it happened again to no fault of theirs, they warned me it would happen. I truly WANT to give London Gold a better review. But I can't. This may be some of the worst customer service for something that I am fully aware cost my now husband a lot of money. That is partly why I feel terrible in posting a negative review.. After getting engaged, my THEN boyfriend wanted to let me in on choosing my engagement ring. I would have loved no matter what he chose, let me clarify that. We went to several jewelers in the valley and really liked what London Gold had to offer. I wanted 14k white gold, as I have a platinum ring and it tends to dull and isn't as 'shiny' as white gold. The day we chose the ring and diamond, we were treated wonderfully! In fact, the sales guy advised us, to our surprise, that the ring would be sized down and mounted with the diamond by closing time. We opted to stay in the Chandler area for this reason. Well, he never called us so we just showed up about 5 minutes before closing. Another sales guy advised us, 'Your ring is beautiful and will be ready any minute! He ( the jeweler) is finishing it up now..) okay we wait. Not once did the gentleman who sold it to my then fiancé say a word or acknowledge us. I tried not to think much of that, but I found it, rude. Now 20 Minutes after closing he finally says to us , 'Yeah hey, your ring won't be ready til next week. Sorry.' As he cleaned up and put things away. When I asked why he didn't call us earlier to let us know that , ( as it would have been okay!). He just responded with , ' You can see we are busy; We got slammed with lots of customers; watch battery changes and such. Sorry guys. We will call you when it's ready.' Not gonna lie. This is where my first inclination of the customer service, or lack there of, began. Nonetheless, I didn't want to act 'spoiled' to my new fiancé and left my thoughts to myself. When he came home from his business trip a week later, I received my beautiful halo, Princess diamond engagement ring and was happy. Well, sort of. The size was still too big. I took it back to LG and stated that it needed to go down to a 4 even though it was sized the day we purchased. The manager lady helping me was less than nice to me. She said , 'We need to get this right this time, as we aren't going to keep sizing this ring'. I thought to myself : 'Lady I want my ring.. My goal in life is not to drive back and forth to bug you.' Really? No call came later that week to let me know it was ready a few days later. Again. How awful is this post sale customer service going to be ? We did decide to shop elsewhere for my diamond band and I for his wedding band. Fast forward. Within 3 months of wearing my beautiful ring.. Taking it off for anything remotely 'rough' such as working out, cleaning, washing dishes and even sleeping... I noticed it was getting a yellowy tinge on the band. I thought my eyes were tricking me and compared it with my friends ring... Nope her ring , a 2+ year old white gold engagement ring from another jeweler was NOT doing that. My other friend who did get her engagement ring from London Gold told me she had to have her ring 'dipped' from time to time. What? I made sure to take my now husband with me this time when returning with my ring to London Gold. I honestly was not looking forward to dealing with the lackidasical customer service again and I also know when I have had it.. I can get pretty snippy. I knew he would handle it... And make me keep my cool. Sure enough the SAME lady that I dealt with before on sizing said it had been '5 months since the purchase and it was TIME to inspect the ring AND it wasn't unheard of for the white gold to turn color'. She went on to explain how ALL white gold had alloy, nickel and rhodium and asked me 'how rough I was on this ring'. Not only was I offended, I was beyond appalled. IF this is all the case, it is owed to the consumer to let them know that when purchasing a ring in the beginning. I've since done my research.. ( I also have a Tiffany ring that did NOT , HAS not turned and it is OLD!! As it was a gift to me from my father when I turned 16 and that was awhile ago!) I have found that some jewelers do this dipping of the white gold that they sell. Not all provide that information to the customer , as in the case with this London Gold, obviously because we probably would have bought elsewhere. Here is the true kicker : we will NOW spend $50 to have it dipped from now on! That's quite a lot of extra $ for London Gold, if it has to be done, say twice a year! This time though , she, the manager, said it was 'complimentary'. Should I be grateful? Well I am not. I am just on this side of calling this place hoaky .. I love my ring and its design is show stopping. I love the person who gave it to me on one knee and all it stands for. BUT, NOT once was London Gold apologetic or nice about this process. They were nice when showing us expensive rings, sets and diamonds from their vault and taking my fiancés thousands. Now you know. read more
