The second repair man was EXTREMELY RUDE and stated that he was driving from the woodlands to Katy and they he was wasting his time coming out! he stated that i needed to have the lint cleaned out of duct behind dryer which they did not do. I called a separate air duct cleaning company to clean air duct out and the dryer STILL DOES HEAT! So that tells me I was scammed! I don't think the part was ever changed. He gave me a clear diagnosis and explained that the evaporator coils or air vents become blocked by a solid mass of ice, preventing cold air from circulating. He used a handheld steamer to quickly and safely melt away the ice blocking the evaporator coils and internal vents; however, it didn't work. He later instructed me to unplug the refrigerator, leave the doors open for 24 hours, then turn it back on the next day for 12 hours. I was happy to see my refrigerator fixed and cooling again. Beto quoted me at $50 to come out and assess the problem, which would go towards the repair costs. After initial assessment, he determined the problem may be the lid latch, so he ordered the piece. A few days later, it came in and he returned to find out if that was the problem. It came out to be that it wasn't the lid latch, but rather the motherboard, which is not fixable. We were better off getting a new machine since ours is almost 10 years old. He ended up not charging us for his time, even though my husband offered. My reason for the high rating is that he was very responsive and did not appear to just be in the business for the money. He did not even charge us for the part that was ordered.
