I don't really leave reviews, but this is the worst mechanic shop I have ever been to. I came in for my transmission to get replaced then come to find out two months later my transmission is missing 6 bell housing bolts. The owner Bobby denied that he or his team didn't leave my truck like that, knowing dam well they did. Then Bobby tried gaslighting me saying it wouldn't cause any danger/internal or future issues with my vehicle. On 6/19/26 I came in to get a refund/bolts and he denied the refund saying he didn't leave my vehicle incomplete and basically said the job was done properly. After he denied my refund he only handed me 4 bolts when I told him im missing 6 of them. I have pictures and videos of the missing bolts. Now taking it to a professional mechanic Im missing more than just bell housing bolts and come to find out again they used the wrong bolts for the transmission which caused 2 bolts to break and needs to be extracted. They said they'll replace all the bolts im missing but wont extract anything. Now they're ignoring me for asking why wont they extract anything bolts. Stumbled upon this place randomly when my car wouldn't start. Bobby is great. Works quickly and efficiently. The tow set my car down, I got over there and Bobby was already head first under my hood! Small place and office, but genuinely a hard working and trustworthy man. We're do I start seriously when I tell you bobby is amazing. If you're anything like me trusting a mechanic can be extremely difficult from them taking your money to not doing the job properly. My recent experiences with Bobby have blown any mechanic out of the water. I've now taken four cars total to Bobby one had a complete transmission rebuild, two of them are still being worked on and I've even convince my boss to take her company cars there now. I had my fuel pump go out on my Jeep Liberty and he was able to fix it within a few days (granted Memorial day was within that time frame). I've had him work on my brakes and my moms car as well. I needed to get my vehicle inspected to renew my registration. I drive past this shop often so i have it a try. I called in advance and was able to make an appointment for the next morning. When I arrived, someone came out to greet me. They directed me to the office while they did the inspection. Everyone was wearing masks, and I really appreciated that. It didn't take long at all. I have been going to this company for a few years now. Each time I go, they check exactly what I tell them I am feeling with my vehicle, they tell me exactly what is wrong with it, and don't try to upsell me. What they tell me they are going to fix, is what they do, and the pricing is better than any other place I've gone too. They guarantee their work, and I never feel cheated when I go here. I cannot tell you how thankful i am for bobby and everyone there at lone star transmission! I have had an ongoing problem with my car and the ignition coils in the car. I had previously paid someone well over 300 to try and fix the problem but didnt work. Finally found bobbys shop and i have never been more satisfied! I have a 2013 XTS Cadillac. I had Bobby to do some work you're talking about a good mechanic as well as honest. Well that's your man! The Cadillac dealer wanted to charge me 930 while Bobby did the work for 500. Well sometimes cheap not the way to go if you want something done right you have to pay car still not fixed Bobby gave me the run around a month and I ended up taking the car to Cadillac paying after all plus the additional 500 I gave Bobby should have just went to Cadillac so make sure he can fix your vehicle. read more

WARNING; Consumer BEWARE! Don't waste your precious money & time here! You will be ripped off! I would give this shop Negative "stars" if allowed & here's Why: After moving to TX from another state w a "check engine" light on(& bringing a read out from O'REILLY in hand saying it was the "temperature sensor") Bobby recommended also replacing the timing belt(which was reasonable since my car had nearly 100, miles) After having my car for a wk.& a half, picking it up, then being told numerous times to "drive 50 miles" (for light to go off)& return"; "Check engine light stayed ON, Was charged over $$$ 2,000 $$$! I finally gave up & drove my car myself to the neighboring shop (where Bobby was supposedly taking my car ea.time to get an emission reading )& asked if he could find out why "check engine" still read. Turns out, part (temperature sensor)had Not been replaced as evidenced by seeing the fouled out part which this mechanic saved & showed me. Forward 20,000 miles & a new mechanic; Turns out Bobby did NOT replace timing belt either. It's now clear, Bobby did NONE of the repairs which he charged me for over $2,000 to do. Not replacing the timing belt is evidenced by "no bolts being removed & belt clearly old'. This could have cost me my engine had this fact not been discovered by a knowledgeable & HONEST mechanic! Although the term "Honest Mechanic" may sound like an oxymoron to most, Bobby is truly just that! Being a female who knows some, but not much, about the inner-workings of my Dodge 2500 Diesel, I highly appreciate the fact that Bobby & his staff always shoot me straight when my truck encounters a problem. I have been to many dealerships & mechanic shops in the past that took complete advantage of me with their prices - I know many of you reading this review can relate. Bobby has always charged me reasonable prices which have consistently turned out to be MUCH cheaper than quotes I've received from the dealership/other shops. Lone Star replaced the transmission & radiator in my diesel truck last year, & I was extremely pleased with their price (you bet I shopped around for such a large purchase - Bobby beat it by HUNDREDS of dollars). Not only are their prices reasonable, but they get the job done in a very timely fashion. They stand by their work, which is hard to find at many other places in Austin.
