Reliable, trustworthy, fantastic customer service. This company came to clean my ac ducts due to the heavy dust load and musky smell in the home. After carefully looking at the system, an alternative service was recommended. George was very honest with me about what I really needed. Showed me pictures of the internal ducts (which were clean) and suggested uv lights for the heavy mold build on the ac coils. We had another company come out for an estimate. Their price was the same for duct cleaning but I'm confident I would have received the service without the proper recommendations. I signed up for hvac cleaning services via Living Social, and had an appointment with Tim last week Monday Jan 29th. The overall cleaning lasted around 2 hrs, and went well. I went to the store to purchase new air filters, and upon removing the panels to install them later that day, I noticed areas on both my main ducts, and around the coils that were still dirty and not fully cleaned. I sent Tim some photos, and he agreed to return later that week to double check everything. He was professional and on time for the second appointment Friday March 4th. When I pointed out some things that he missed, he admitted to that it had been missed and proceeded to clean those areas and also repeat other steps from the first visit. This time, he also cut into the main duct in order to get hard to reach places. The extra cleaning processes caused more debris to to get caught on the new filters that I had recently purchased, thus making them very dirty. Phenomenal service. I was suffering with skin allergies for the first time in my life, and of course the allergist found the only thing I'm allergic to is mold. Old house + humid Galveston weather = MOLD. George came out after I purchased a Groupon and told me my HVAC needed pretty extensive service which was not a surprise as I'm sure the previous owner never cleaned it (built in 1972). George went over the options and costs, including excellent payment plans, for their services. He was able to come back the next week and clean the vents and install the UV light. The difference was drastic and immediate. This service is worth every penny. read more

I was sold services by Lone Star back in 2016 because we were having problems with mold and mildew forming around the air registers in our house. Lone Star told me that they could take care of this and make it go away. The first step of the process was to fume the air ducts with a moldicide to kill what was growing. Second, they would install UV lights in my AC supply plenum to kill any bacteria or viruses at the source so that nothing would grow in my air ducts going forward. For this "service" that was promised to work, I had to pay them close to $1,000 and then I had to have them back to the house every 6 months and pay them a trip charge to keep the warranty in effect. We proceeded with them. After the third trip out to the house where we kept having to pay the trip charge, I explained to them that their service wasn't working. They informed me that if I really wanted to get rid of it permanently, I would have to pay them for an additional service to paint a primer around and in my air registers to encapsulate the mold to prevent further growth. This was where I drew the line. I told them I was promised that these other services that I've invested almost $1,000 in would solve the problem. I told them that I would be paying nothing more to them and because of their false claims and ineffective work, they needed to refund me the money they charged me. I am told that it is not their policy to issue refunds. They tried to give me the new services free of charge, but honestly, I didn't want them in my house anymore and I certainly didn't want them painting primer on my ceiling so that I would have to repaint my ceilings so as not to have blotchy spots on the ceiling. They also tried to tell me that they originally told me that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work. To which my response (as any normal person's would be) was, "why would I invest $1,000 if this may not work?" Untrustworthy company. I highly recommend looking elsewhere and not giving them your hard-earned money. read more

This guy was genuine, honest, and went above and beyond. His work ethics are unbelievable. He came on a Saturday morning. I think he was probally supposed to be off. The owner came over a second time for free, because my vents needed to be recleaned. He even did a little handy work for free. Before they came over- I felt like road kill. Let me tell you about one of the best customer experiences I've ever had. I had just purchased a house last month, and one of my concerns was the possibility of allergens remaining in the carpet and duct work. Using Yelp and other references, I received a few bids and decided to go with Lone Star. George Zudihin came to my house and took the time to explain everything that, in his professional opinion, needed to be done. I can't tell you how happy I am that George took a personal interest in me and my health issues. I bought a Groupon to have the ducts in my home cleaned. It was for 1 system cleaning including unlimited vents and one return. There was a 3 hour window for the appt. 8AM to 11AM. The tech came at 10:58. So he went under house for 5 minutes. Came inside for another 3 minutes to count vents and returns. (I had every intention of paying extra to get the returns cleaned and pay for it along with the Groupon). He said he needed to do some paperwork and was back in 5 minutes. He presented me with a work order. He said that only one vent was included and one return. That the rest would be $250.00. He then said I had mold and showed me a test tube that was purple. That would be an additional $199.00. And that I needed to have a UV light Air purifier installed that would be $299.00. But great news that has a 5 year warranty. He said it was useless to clean the system and just one vent and one return. I told him I did not have the money and he said well let me know when you do and left. He did zero, nothing. I contacted Groupon and they gave me a credit. It is a shame, I was going to see if they would do the chimney and other things, but they have lost a customer. read more

The company uses equipment that is not as high tech as some companies we met but the pricing reflects that, so their bid was lower then other companies. They do not have as many steps as some of the larger companies for cleaning vents. I thought the guys at First Pro Clean were very professional and knowledgable. My husband had them initially come over to clean our dryer vent, which they did, even explaining that our vent tunnel was curved and also let out beneath a drain pipe, which they showed me. They then checked our vents upon my request, and found mold. My son was hospitalized for pneumonia last spring, and I also had four severe respiratory and sinus infections around the same time over the course of last winter. We never could figure out the trigger, but our Immunologist asked us repeatedly if there might be any mold someplace in the house. After swearing up and down that there wasn't anything, it turns out I was wrong. The infections stopped around the time we quit running the heater, which makes me think they were right. These guys showed me the mold in the vents, and even subtracted the cost of the additional cleaning for what it would cost them to run the organic cleaning fluid through the system. When I asked them if they could clean it today, they actually suggested I take my time, so they weren't pushy with me at all. My husband and I both are highly allergic to mold after renting an apartment in NYC that shared a ventilation system with a condemned building next door. We didn't know about the shared system until it was too late, and we both ended up having back to back sinus surgeries for polyps caused by the mold exposure. So anyone who doesn't think mold is a problem, probably just hasn't had a serious problem yet. I really think they saved us from another miserable winter. I'm just thankful they found it, before we started running the heat again. I was also impressed with their presentation. When they initially got here on time, they immediately put on their shoe guards, so as to not track in anything from outside. We've had a lot of work done in the house, so I can't tell you what a rare thing that is these days. They also looked nice, wearing polo shirts, and seemed to take pride in their business. I asked them about the business and George explained that it was run by his brother-in-law, all of them from Ukraine and Moldova, etc. So this is a family business that is trying to build itself in Austin, though it seems to be part of a larger chain, which I'm happy to support. I plan on calling them again and having the UV light installed in the vents, because to me, it's worth it and I trust these guys to do good work. read more

Don't use these liars. Called to have ducts cleaned they told me I had mold. They wanted extra to remove it so I passed. They did the cleaning and i paid them $120 that included the $30 groupon. But I still had the same problem. The heating element was burning up in my dryer. So I called Sear's and when they told me the duct work had to be cleaned out I was very mad. The only reason I used this company was because it was $100 more to use Sear's. I asked the Sear's guy about the mold he said that there was no way Lone Star could have seen any mold since they didn't untape the vent. Really??? Thanks for ripping me off. Then I called the company to complain and asked for the owner. The guy on the phone said he was just a tech and he was the guy that came to my house. He said he did the job right. So we argued and then he said he was the owner. He did say sorry about my complaint but that was all he had to say. Stand by your work liar. Or should I say no work done but he charged me anyways. We are selling our house soon and I needed to make sure our air duct system was clean and in good working order. After reading the Lone Star Pro Services website and other yelp reviews, I scheduled an estimate first before purchasing the groupon. I also checked the BBB for their ratings and complaints and everything looked good. George called me 30 minutes before our scheduled appointment to confirm and showed up on time. After doing a thorough check outside and inside the house (including in the attic), George let me know our air duct system was very clean as far as dust and allergens were concerned and there was no need to purchase the groupon. He also informed me there was mold in the system, which I was surprised to hear at first, but upon further reflection I remembered we had a leak in the attic from our A/C unit a couple of years ago. He explained in detail how he would take care of the mold and gave me a fair price (I researched several prices for removal of mold and other issues before my appointment). He also told me the service and price would include a 5-year warranty and they would also come out every 6 months to one year and re-check the system to ensure mold would not be spreading further. I agreed to the work and he took care of it that day. He warned the smell may be too much to handle and while performing the cleaning he checked on us several times to see if we were okay. Afterwards, he cleaned the outside of each vent in the house. He never tried to push for extra services, he also explained that even if the air duct system needed cleaning he would not recommend that service because the mold would spread further in the system with the blowing of the equipment. George was personable, knowledgeable and trustworthy. He also told me to always check the BBB for companies with good ratings for whatever services we needed (this came up because I told him our next service would be to find someone to take a look at our HVAC unit). read more
