This restaurant has the best service I've ever seen, they came like thirty secs after we were seated let us order our drinks and appetizers, then 5 minutes after they came with our chips and queso and kept saying sorry cause of how late they were like what? Most restaurants have like a hour long wait. We got steak and chicken fajitas four the four of us it was some of the best fajitas I've ever had If you live near one and are hungry go there it's delicious. And beautiful bathrooms. read more

I'm way too lazy to write a long length review .So I happened to go here since my daughter was adamant on trying Lone Star, she's never been here before.The last time I ate here was when I used to live in Dallas eons ago. It was quite tricky to give them a rating since the service was top notch by the food was meh. The only highlight of the meal was the sliced steak which was grilled and seasoned to perfection rest of the meal was just ok.What ticked me off the most were the tortillas..they were thick and chewy.How can the tortillas be so thick? Overall just an ok dining experience.But kudos to the team for great customer service. this is my fav Lone Star location. It's just off Hwy401 with lots of parking. There is a nice patio in the patio but make reservations or get there early as it's busy on weekends. I would highly recommend the full rack of ribs. read more

I went in late in the lunch rush and the place was virtually empty. I was seated promptly and the waitress quickly took my drink order. She was very helpful, without being pesky. Placed a takeout order for a full rack of ribs with curly fries. The order came with a "side" of beans and Cole slaw. $36.00 After I opened the bag, the order consisted of a large bag of tortilla chips and a qt of salsa with fajitas!! After calling back, I was put on hold while I waited for a manager. I was still waiting on hold when I walked back in 10min later! I received the correct order which I believe had actually been sitting there, even though the bag I was originally given had my name on it. The ribs tasted fine, but the curly fries had obviously been sitting as they were stale. The sides were 3.5oz. I get bigger orders from the Popeyes at the OnRoute service plazas! Waited 1.5 hours for a table due to max of 10 people capacity. Table next to us paid and stayed an extra 45 minutes chatting which was inconsiderate i think. Margarita tatsed great. Rating: 3.5/5 stars We decided to try out Lone Star since we had some shopping to do within that area. I was very surprised at how busy this restaurant was! We didn't have to wait very long before getting a table; approximately 5-10 minutes. Although it was quite busy our server was relatively quick and attentive. My boyfriend liked how they gave out complimentary chips and salsa. We shared the Rita Coronita which we both enjoyed. It comes with a mini bottle of Corona that's placed upside down within the margarita. He had the cabo tacos and I had the shareable chicken quesadilla. I would recommend the sharable quesadilla if you don't have a large appetite. The Caesar side salad wasn't great so we didn't finish that off. Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner and I can see us coming back in the near future. read more

We sat on the patio as it was a nice evening out. Not bad even though you are right beside the 401. We ordered drinks and I ordered a Goose Island IPA Texas size draught. The waitress came back a few minutes later with a bottle instead. She advised me that it was on the menu but the won't be getting it in restaurant for a few months. (Why was it on menu and why didn't she know they didn't serve it). We ordered shrimp and avocado salad and a steak big rig burrito. Dinner came in a timely manner. After a few bites of the salad we found a large quantity of rotting black lettuce. Picture shown. We asked for a new salad and were brought a new one from the manager. He informed us it was going to be compt. My burrito was big. Upon cutting into it I found its primary ingredient was rice. After several bites I located a small quantity of chopped pieces of steak. Overall I found it un flavourful and boring. Not very authentic tasting. All in all a disappointing meal. Skip this Tex Mex restaurant and go for Italian if in Milton. The burger patty was a little overcooked but other than that. The rest of the food was good. The poutine wasn't bad but the gravy wasn't hot enough so the cheese curds were still rock solid. It's nice that every table gets chips and salsa to start though. My daughter enjoyed having something to nibble one while waiting for her food. Also. If you decide to get the mashed red skinned potato as a side. It's actually very good. read more

Dropped in on my lunch hour to grab some awesome chips and home made salsa. The young hostess ignored me standing at the take out counter for 5 mins before I asked her if I could order. Her response was " oh I thought you were leaving". She attempting unsuccessfully to take my order before she started shouting for "trigger" for help. A young guy took my order and then directed me to "the brunette at the bar" to pay for my order. She was all smiles and very nice. Once I had paid I waited in the foyer for my food. The young guy who took my order brought out my chips and salsa and asked me if I had paid. When I said yes he handed it to me and walked away. Total time to get served and leave with chips - 20 mins. The extent of work involved did not include any actual food prep. I've been to quite a few Lone Stars and have always had great service. This newer location dropped the ball. read more

We've been to lone star numerous times, and we're quite happy when we found out they came to Milton. Even went to their grand opening. Tonight I tried their wings. They were pretty good. I think their ribs are better. My wife got fajitas. She went through the first 3 tortillas and had to wait quite a while before anyone offered to get her more. But the food was delicious. The surprising thing was when we got our bill, we were charged $2 for the chips and salsa bowls. I don't mind the price. It's reasonable in my opinion. Although ironic as my wife and I talked about how it's the little things that we appreciate, like the complimentary chips and salsa. My problem is if it was posted anywhere, it was well hidden. The waitress should have asked "would you like a bowl of chips and salsa for only 1 dollar?" Or maybe a sign on the table. Something. By the time we were informed that there was a cost to the always complimentary chips, it was too late to turn them down. Would have been less surprised to see a charge to a refill on pop. read more

Had a very enjoyable dinner with the family, the food came quickly and was as ordered. This location is fairly new but the staff were quite friendly and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for - a few screens with sports but not a noisy sports bar, and not quite a silent dining room. We actually left quite stuffed, as we had cleared off two dishes of complimentary warm tortilla chips before the orders even arrived. My main was a New York Strip loin and it was done to order, and my wife had the Tijuana burrito. 3 error on our orders. Dry burger that I had to get up to go find someone to complain after 10 minutes because my waiter was no where to be found. I returned the burger and they still tried to sneak it on the bill. Staff was nice but too many errors and not the best food. Would give 0 stars if possible. Had lunch here today and have been here a few times since it opened. We were surprised to find that the chips and salsa are no longer free, it's now $1 which goes to the food bank. Nachos shared platter was 1/2 the size of what I have been getting at many other premium places for lesser cost. We ordered chicken instead of beef and could literally count cubes of chicken. I'm writing this before I leave the restaurant. It was really that good. I expected the usual slow service and not so good food for a new restaurant (open about a week). How wrong I was from being greeted at the door to being seated and placing an order the staff were very friendly , fast and knowledgable. The food came correct ( with all our modifications) and hot. Sadly a terrible experience, the food was just sad and dried up. The cheeseburger quesadilla was just this sad looking burger between two dried pitas. When we complained it was replaced by a undercooked chicken enchilada. The server was very helpful and kind and it wasn't her fault my carrots were dried debris of what was once a vegetable. This new restaurant has some work to do to make sure there late night customers agent left in the dust that was a celery stick. read more

Waitress was great, attentive and friendly. Food was a different story. I rarely meet a tex mex meal I dont like. I can only say it was weird flavors. Beans were not stirred prior to serving so they had the old crusties . The tortilla was kinda rubbery, the chicken a really odd flavour and texture. The Sauce yikes was bad. I leaft 2/3rds of a meal, as did the others. Not sure what the dealio was but not good. Then our waitress went on break and her co-worker dropped the bill with out a way to pay. Went to the front and the bar they said I would have to wait. Not followed up no assistance. Wow! guess the one waitress was the good one. I would have to say give it a pass. read more

The Lone Star has raised its game, which is nice to see. I originally went to a Lone Star back in the '90s and I remember it being a salty, flavourless place. Glad to see that is no longer the case. Had the fajitas which were great and the kids had burgers that were better than the average kids menu fare. Tortillas were fresh and chicken was cooked perfectly. Good selection of beer on tap, too. I've always felt a bit bad for the staff for having to dress like cowpokes, but I can get past it for the food. read more
