Stopped in for lunch and yum- so glad I did. I had the burger with homemade BBQ and tiny pickles with a side salad. It was so good! My burger was cooked perfectly and had tons of flavor. The side salad was fresh with dried cranberries and blue cheese crumbles. The vinegrette dressing was spot on. A routine go to spot when staying at the Hilton Garden Inn...short walk or easy stop on way home from work. The Smashburgers are a hit...go for the triple, if you dare. The pizzas are amazing and the short ribs all have me as a return customer ...they see us at least twice a week when we are in town. Stopped in here on a yelp review as it is right off the highway. Absolutely delicious food good service nice ambience. I had a fish tacos which were hot, crunchy and moist. Great menu choices. I asked for ice tea, and our waitress said we don't have it, but I can make it for you! That's what I like to see. read more

Ok bruce i have mixed feelings! The food was good for starters.. but the waitresses were soooo annoyed and it was obvious. Didnt really make for a pleasant environment. One bartender there was super nice and fun. But everyone else was a bummer. read more

Sunday February 19th,2023- I was at the Cambridge Hotel and Conference center for a wedding reception that evening. Arrived early decided to have lunch the hotels restaurant. We did wait about 10 minutes to be served and noticed one server hustling back and forth from the dining room to the back. When she did finally make her way to our table, she introduced herself as Brelia and proceeded to profusely apologize for our having to wait so long before she came to us. She explained that she was the only server on duty and that a large party of 15 guests had just finished and left. Along with that, I did notice about 5 other tables with guests. Despite this fact, Breila maintained a wonderful disposition. She was fun to interact with and seemed happy to connected to all the customers in the restaurant. There were 3-salad choices on the menu, my guest and I each order one of the three salads (we chose the hummus bowl and the Bruce salad) Both our salads met our expectation around presentation and quality (would definitely order again and would highly recommend) Restaurant was clean, easy to move through and enjoyed the overall casual ambience. All in all a great experience and I know it was as a result of how cool & efficient of our server Breila; she handled (being only server on duty, restaurant full of customers and she managed everything like a pro!! Recently visited and spoke with one of the managers that was bartending - i tipped him handsomely - and i shortly learned after that he won't receive my tip since managers don't make tips and only servers receive them. i didn't tip a server, i tipped the manager - i believe this is wage theft. DONT COME HERE until this establishment changes it's policy to align with the law. read more

I travel at least once a month, usually with my wife. We have stayed mostly in "luxury" hotels all over North America and Europe. We just finished our first stay in The Bruce Hotel and I would definitely rate it amongst the top 5 or 10 hotels of all the ones where we've stayed. We have stayed in Stratford CN before, many times. Last year we discovered The Bruce -- because we went to their eponymous restaurant, which is the hands-down BESt RESTAURANT (separate) of all where we've eaten in Canada. When here last year, we "toured" the hotel itself and resolved to stay here on our next trip -- this year we did. It is a spectacular place to stay, and all the staff (hotel and restaurant) are knowledgeable, helpful, efficient and gracious. But most important to us is how terrific the hotel itself is. First of all, all of the spaces are thoughtfully, tastefully, graciously and comfortably laid out and appointed. The guest rooms are all large -- every one of them is made to accommodate handicap needs (which we do not have ourselves), so the bathrooms are HUGE and well-designed in every way. The rest of the room (we had a suite, with an ample outside balcony, complete with chairs and table and chaise, overlooking the lovely green space surrounding three sides of the hotel) is similarly spacious, commodious. The furnishings are lovely and comfortable -- a great bed. The room has its own "side bar" complete with equipment and fixings to make press-pot coffee (a delicious blend is provided), in addition to the 24/7 coffee service available in a guest-space down the hall from our room, where one can make Nespresso coffees/espresso complete with cappuccino machine as well. The common areas in the rest of the hotel are also lovely and spacious, as is the swimming pool/exercise area. There are quiet spaces (indoors and out) to sit and relax, read, and even smoke (outdoors but not"standing in a corner" to do so -- which made it possible to enjoy coffee (available everywhere 24/7 and free) while having my cigar, and not disturbing anyone else (including my wife!). There is a lovely and well-stocked bar outside the restaurant. Everywhere we went there were gracious and helpful staff who magically and unobtrusively "appeared" when needed. The restaurant and food served is incredible -- I'm going to write a separate review of the restaurant, so as not to unduly lengthen this review. Suffice, for this, to say we decided to eat all three of our dinners there (instead of going to any of the other restaurants in Stratford at which we've previously eaten), in addition to having the lovely "included" breakfasts there each day. You will love this place, whatever your tastes are. I confess that we are not "price-driven" in our choices of places to stay on our travels, so I leave it to you to decide how you view cost. What I can tell you is that whatever the cost was, it was more than worth it to my wife and me. read more

Fantastic service and great food. Caesar salad was delicious, pasta was great and mussels were out of this world. Best I've ever had. Hotel is fantastic too so if you need a hotel and don't want to travel to eat no worries. This place is great. A pleasant surprise for a hotel restaurant. read more

Very mix review for Bruce. I have been to the restaurant 2 days as I am staying at the hotel. Last night I order the pizza and it was good. I also had the breakfast buffet in the morning. No complaints at all for the food and service nov 13. Well I had a sweet tooth and the desert of the lava cake was great on the 13. I ordered it to go again on the 14 no different than the 13 that I ordered the cake to go and my cake was RAW and dumped in a cardboard box. On the 13 I had a server at the bar and a server at the table both were great On the 14th Paula was August at the bar and thankful for Michel to take my compliment and work to fix the issue. I am at the hotel on business and I have another week long trip but I do not think I will be back to the hotel or the restaurant. read more

Staying in the hotel so I thought is give the restaurant a try. Big mistake. Maybe because it was nearing the end of lunch service and they were preparing for dinner, but the food was below par. My wife had the 'Mac & Cheese'. It was barely warm, like they didn't nuke it long enough, and my 'cod' looked as though it had been sitting around in the kitchen all afternoon. The service was ok, the waitress/bartender was polite and the food was served quickly. It's too bad it really wasn't any good. There are a ton of other restaurants in the area. Maybe I was there on a bad day, but with all the other choices, I won't be back. read more

Pleasantly surprised. Bartender helped us Select from a very interesting selection of craft beers. Tried a number of brews; coffee stout, strawberry cider and a local IPA. We had the grilled cheese with fries (the fries are something special) and the beet salad ( goat cheese makes everything better). read more
