This was my first time playing at Lone Tree. It was confusing at times because the card didn't have a map and you had to go across streets and through neighborhoods. We met another gentleman that said it was his first time and he had to ask where to go too. The course was very pretty with Mountain View's. There were water filling stations, which was great on a hot day. The dining area was very nice and overlooked the golf course. After completing our first nine holes we were asked if everything was going well and when leaving they cleaned our clubs off. I golfed her in June and the course conditions were very good. It's a challenging enough, yet forgiving course. That said, water does play on several holes on the front 9. Good rate for summer play. I'm looking forward to my next outing here. read more

I took a golf clinic with a local golf instructor this past July. Though my instructor is not directly associated with Lone Tree Golf Club, she has a partnership with them where they allow her to host clinics and playdates here. My beginner class met here weekly for the four-week clinic. We met at the driving range for the first three classes and the putting greens for the final class. This was my first real experience with golf and golf courses and didn't have much to compare it to. The driving range looked fine to me, again, as a beginner. They had real grass. There was also some shade, depending on what part of the driving range you were on. For our final class, we met at the putting green to work on chipping and putting. Unfortunately, more than halfway through our last class, the sprinklers came on and no one turned them off even though we were still on the greens. Most of us got sprayed and were forced to end our class a little early. Other than that instance, our class was well taken care of. We always had plenty of balls ready and available to us. The staff was responsive and accommodating. My instructor hosted a playdate here this past September and we played the first nine holes. Our group really enjoyed playing here and didn't have any complaints with the course. read more

I hadn't played Lone Tree for a few years and was looking forward to the round with some friends. Fairways were quite dry with a lot of brown grass areas. But the greens were not good at all, in fact, I referred to them as "browns". It appeared that the greens had been aerated 2-3 weeks prior, which made them a little bumpy. Aerating is something that coursed need to do a couple of times a year and I expect that they will be bumpy for a few weeks after. But they were so dry and fast that putting was a challenge. I love the layout of this course. It's not too difficult for a hacker like me, but does have challenging holes which makes playing a round here a fun experience. I'm sure that the dryness of the course on the day that we played it was not the normal conditions, as I have played here several times over the past 20+ years. The staff was courteous and friendly. I will return to play here again sometime down the road. read more

After a fun round of golf, I swung by "THE GRILL" at Lone Tree Golf Club for lunch today and got this incredibly delicious and filling club sandwich. Had half of it for lunch and finished the other half for dinner. And the french fries were to die for some of the best I've ever had. Nice and crunchy skin outside and warm and tasty potato inside without being soggy raw tasting or anything else. While this meal was $16, the fact it made two meals made it worth it. It definitely wasn't overpriced for what you got. This was paired up with a nice tall glass of ice water on a warm day. The staff was also really nice and even had pre-made cups of water to go for golfers coming in for water so they didn't have to wait. I will definitely be back in the future for this meal again and to see what else they have. read more

First time playing this course and was very happy with the pace of play. It seems like they are very organized with the way they structure their tee times. The longest we waited on any given tee box was only a couple of minutes. The course was in amazing condition. Fairway grass was beautiful and the greens were fast but in great condition. Biggest complaint is the price of range balls. I was gonna get some but for a small bag of range balls they were charging $13. Pretty crazy considering it didn't even seem like there were that many balls in those bags. Practice facility isn't anything super special. Overall, if you can snag a good deal to golf here I would recommend checking it out. read more

This is the first course I played that is not overpriced and walkable! Very generous fairway so it is a great course for all skills.

This is a fun course. I've played here multiple times and always enjoy it. There's not a lot of elevation but the greens and fairways are always in good shape and the bunkers and water hazards are just difficult enough to challenge my shot shapes and distances. Every time I've gone out, we've teed off a few minutes early and the pace is kept. On almost every hole, if you spray it, you can find it and that definitely helps (hats off to the head super for keeping the course in such great playing shape). NOTE: I don't want to post this because I don't want more folks to play here, but, I definitely want to give a solid review for a solid course that is doing it right. read more

Staff is rude, overpriced and the driving range is practice of mats only, newsflash, hitting off mats is exercise not practice.

We had a foursome this morning 3July2022 and paid $65 a person. There was no water on the course, no water in the ball washers. It looked like nobody has cut the grass in a week. No beverage cart! The greens were in horrible shape. I'm not one to complain but for $65 a person I'm gonna say something on yelp. Not impressed with how much they charge when their course looks like this. read more

Course is in really good shape. Greg Avant, the owner, was great to work with. Best thing about this course is that they prepare for frost warnings. They block tee times that helps out with NO delays. Most courses don't do that and it is not good. Delays of up to two hours at other courses. Great job Greg!! read more

Coming out of our winter/spring season and this course charges $100..mind you, there are not many options in the east valley but this place is terrible. The fairways were dry and burned up, bunkers have no sand, no water on course. A $50 course at best. read more

Mediocre. Never a cart girl on the front 9 even on Sundays (the day I've usually played here), and 1/5 times we'll see her once on the back 9; after we've just stopped at the clubhouse. I've personally never been somewhere where they didn't have any windshields on any of the carts. BUGS WILL FLY INTO YOUR FACE CONSTANTLY. Extremely ghetto on that front. Even 50$ courses all have them.... Otherwise decent grass/course if it's not completely irrigated. even when they're super busy on peak weekends it could be possibly muddy and puddly as hell... as it was today.... People that work here are all nice... Honestly wish I could give it a better review. read more

Played here about a month ago. Play was slow, understandably, as it was cart path only. However, a group cut in front of us at the turn. We let it go and just grabbed some sandwiches. By hole 11, that group was intentionally walking up the middle of the fairway and delaying play because they were upset that we had asked them to clear the fairway after their 2nd shots. Instead of confronting the group, I called the ranger and let them know what was going on, and that we had tried to just let it go, but it wasn't working out. Next hole was a par 3, the ranger spoke with us and confirmed that the group had cut in front of us and that he would go chat with the other group. As he was chatting with the other group, the player who was walking down the fairway turned around and called me a few choice words, right in front of the ranger. The ranger let that group go and told us they should play faster now. I asked him what he thought about the gentleman calling me an expletive right in front of him. He said that he gave him a warning and that if he removed him, he would have had to refund his tee time. I called and explained this scenario to the course supervisor the next day and asked for the same treatment. The supervisor's response was, "You want a refund because someone called you a name on the golf course?" Not at all. I was disappointed in the actions of the staff and that they find it acceptable to allow this kind of behavior when someone has violated tee order and another group has called staff for help to avoid an altercation. Plenty of other courses money can be spent at that have the ability to manage their playing order and patrons. read more

I find it interesting that their summer rates are about the same price as their winter rates. If I didn't know better I would say that they are taking advantage in the resurgence in golf from the pandemic.. August In Phoenix and were paying almost $200 for three golfers?? Mountain Brook which is a better quality course is $104?? HMMMM.. read more

Course was in good shape. Played for first time and for most part enjoyed it with nice layout and good condition. Finding a yardage marker is an absolute nightmare. Haven't played a worse course when it comes to yardage markers. I'd love to know what others think that play here more often. Also beverage cart was available on front nine and then nothing at all on back nine and no heads up she'd be done. read more

I am an organizer of a women's group and we play Lone Tree on average every 6 weeks or so +/- couple of weeks. All of the staff are wonderful -- Keely, all the starters, food and beverage staff, etc. I really felt home here until recently. The only person who seems to have an attitude and makes me feel like a second class citizen is Aaron. Today was the second time I have dealt with Aaron and again he didn't make me feel welcome. I checked in at around 12:10pm and my tee time was at 12:51pm. We paid extra $10 per pair in order to ride separately during the Covid-19 pandemic. After I paid, Aaron firmly said "don't take a cart if there are people ahead of you." I said fine, no problem. I spoke with the guy outside who was in charge of the carts, told him of what Aaron said, and asked him if I could take a cart. He said "it's not a problem; taking a cart." So, I am supposed to wait around to ensure people with earlier tee times have carts when I have no idea when they are arriving or whether they have already arrived??? I can't take a cart to go practice? Since the starter is a long ways away from the clubhouse, I would need a cart in order to get to the range or the practice green. I can understand if there are people lined up waiting for carts, but that was not the case. Also, it's not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it. I have booked and played the top courses such as Spanish Bay, Ritz Carlton - HMB, Whirlwind, Ak-Chin Southern Dunes, Longbow, Legacy, Dinosaur, Lookout Mountain, Sidewinder, Oak Creek, etc...and I have never been treated with such disrespect. We are the customer. Be courteous and and show professionalism. Don't act like you own the place when you don't. Don't bark orders to your customer -- inform nicely. Since I make all the bookings for my women's golf group, I will think twice about playing here that often. We like to play here because of the decent layout and faster greens, and nice staff...but I can take my business elsewhere. Don't be so disrespectful towards women. read more

Great golf course! This course is one of the finest in the area. Beautifully maintained and more than reasonably priced. Course is easy enough for beginners but challenging enough for the average golfer. Bar has good deals; restaurant has average menu but good food. $5 hot dog special is surprisingly good...for a hot dog. Clubhouse has nice patio area with stretching views of the mountains. Hubby & I played here today and had a great experience! The course is in great shape, with some really fun holes and just the right amount of challenge for us. There's plenty of room between the course and the houses, so the course layout felt very open compared to other courses we play. Staff was helpful but missed having a cart out on the course. Made us stop at the turn but we were quick so didn't lose our place. Didn't see a Marshall either which might have helped groups fill some gaps. We realize Mother's Day might not have enough players to warrant full staffing, so maybe this wasn't a normal day. Well definitely be back to play this course again! Cheers! read more

Had the misfortune of playing in front of Bob P. I was in the Fivesome. 4-5 of the golfers are single digit handicap. Our front 9 pace was exactly 2 hours after letting a 2 some play through. A second 2 some caught us on 11 so we let them play through on 12. We could hear Bob behind us at this point calling us a $$$ing 5some. We then waited a bit for the group we let play through to get ahead. As we are putting on 14, Bob goes around us without saying a word. Thinking he may have just quit we were shocked to see he just hit on the next tee and of course was standing in the middle of the fairway, waiting, as we had been. Our group hollered fore! at him and called the ranger. From what I heard, the guy said, "either give me my money back or I will write a bad review on yelp." We finished our round, including this fiasco, after letting 2 very pleasant 2 somes play through in 4 hours and 15 minutes. A 2some will always feel as if they are waiting even though the pace of play was great. The course is awesome. Greens are fast and true. Everyone is so friendly. read more

If you're looking for a place that adheres to CDC guidelines regarding Covid, skip this place, at least for golf. Didn't experience the dining, but no one in the pro shop or the guys handling the carts were wearing masks or even practicing social distancing. This is my go to course in the SE valley. It's a fun layout with lots of risk reward opportunities. Course condition is usually good with an occasional patchy spot or two in the rough but you aren't supposed to be in the rough anyway. The other nice thing about this course is the shape of the sides of the holes. If you mosh it a bit outside of the fairway the ball tends to roll back towards the fairway. The staff here is very friendly and the food is pretty good for a golf course restaurant. Prices are reasonable and they host many fun tournaments. The course itself is not as nice as some of the super high end courses but it's nowhere near as expensive either. I have always enjoyed playing here and definitely recommend Lone Tree. read more

For a public course, this is a fun track. The staff is friendly and they do a great job of spacing groups out so you can play at a good pace. I've played it for years. The only criticism would be that they used to keep the greens in great shape all year. Over the past two years, the greens have not been kept as well as the have in the past. With that being said, their summer greens are still equal to other public courses in the area. read more
