Numerous areas under repair. Huge divots every shot so wet we ran out of sand. Played in a scramble tourney that was supposed to have multiple tastings on holes and I think there was 3. The tourney prize for first was a head cover like what?!?! Just a money grab. *UPDATED* Jeff below will try to tell you lies to make what occurred seem better to save face. There was only 3 tastings. Two par 3's had empty tables. Prizes were underwhelming at best. A bag tag looks like a child made at elementary school, a free round of golf in these conditions (couldn't pay me to play it again), and one of their own head covers. Utilize your vendors from golf brands. Other courses offering hundreds of dollars, clubs, etc for lesser tournament registration fees. You offer what seems to be after thoughts to be cheap. Every course waters more in the summer so it doesn't get fried but morning tee times see dew. Not standing water and soggy ground with every step. I am a regular at Ocotillo Golf Club, an Arcis Prime member, and consider this my home course. Unfortunately, my experience with Kevin at the pro shop today was extremely disappointing. I arrived shortly before the 3:00 p.m. tee time and was placed in the 3:18 p.m. slot, which was completely fine. The problem began when I was charged $29 instead of the advertised Arcis Prime twilight rate of $25, plus the water fee and tax. When I questioned the price, Kevin acknowledged the difference but initially refused to correct it, saying the register and phone app showed different rates. He then told me that if I wanted to "save a few bucks," I should book through the app. The issue was not the small dollar amount. It was the dismissive attitude, the implication that I was being cheap, and the refusal to take responsibility for correcting a pricing error. When I explained that this was about customer service and accurate pricing, Kevin responded that he does not run the facility and does not care about fixing those issues. That is not how a loyal member or any customer should be treated. GM Jeff has always been professional and welcoming, and AJ outside is consistently friendly and helpful. I hope Jeff speaks with Kevin and provides him with appropriate customer-service training. One employee's attitude should not damage the reputation of an otherwise good team. Ocotillo is where I come to relax and enjoy the course. Today's interaction did the opposite and seriously made me reconsider continuing my Arcis Prime membership. While in Arizona for my son's national scooter competition, I brought my clubs for one day dedicated to dad. I had a buddy (great golfer) look up a few courses for me in Chandler which right next to Phoenix and Ocotillo was his recommendation. I'm glad he found it for me. Let me start by saying this was not an easy course for a high handicapper (17) like me, but it was extremely fun to play. I don't think I've ever played 18 holes with so much water in play on the majority of the course. The greens were kept up (not fast at all), the fairways were nice, and the tee boxes were in good shape as well. I lost a lot of balls but not because of the difficulty of the course, it was simply bad play. I believe they have three 9 hole courses that they use and I started on what they call Oasis. It was a great front 9. Ironically, the back 9 felt a lot easier with less water, but there was still plenty of it to go round. If you're looking for a fairly difficult, yet fun course to play, you'll love this spot. The clubhouse crew was very customer service friendly as well from the moment you walked up and I only paid $97 for 18 with a cart with one day notice. read more

While visiting from out of state, decided to play a round at this beautiful and challenging golf course. This course had well maintained greens and fairways that were a joy to hit off from. This course in the desert is amazingly set among water canals with great views of gorgeous homes and canals. It has extensive water hazards which helped me sharpen my game in planning shots more strategically to try to avoid the water. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at the pro shop, bar, and cart area. Weather in November was a perfect sunny day with slight breeze in low 70's. read more

The course was in excellent condition, and everything went smoothly, thanks to Jeff, who helped coordinate our tee time. The weather was perfect, and we even finished the round in under four hours! After out round, we relaxed on the patio by the fire and enjoyed a couple of post-round drinks. Later, we joined trivia night in the restaurant, which was a lot of fun and unexpected. The food was outstanding--we had the oven-roasted chicken, burgers, and flatbread pizza, all of which were amazing. We also had the pleasure of meeting Tiffany, the F&B manager. The course is beautiful and smooth greens. But for the price compared to the customer service I will never be coming back here again. I've played in several courses in different states with beautiful scenery's and amazing greens. For half the price we got to have polite Marshall's and welcoming staff. Here was the exact opposite. This is a causal game of golf. When no one is a hole behind no marshall should be timing your pace unless players are now backed up or for a specific competition. The Marshall's were constantly getting on us about pace when no one was waiting to tee up. The staff wasn't helpful at all with set up and check in and it left us with a bad taste in our mouth. It is true the golf course removes trees. The course recently removed live trees to rid birds and left the dead trees alone. The dead trees in the photos have been dead well over a year. There are many more long term dead trees. There is a lot of brown on the golf course and the conditions are not as good as they used to be under prior management. read more

First of all, when a person like Mike C. only has one review and it's for one star! He has an agenda. Guy has no clue what he is talking about. Had the opportunity to play here yesterday with my uncle from out of state, and best friend. We played the blue/white course. Both have recently been reseeded. Blue course is 90º, and the white course is cart path only. The greens on the blue course is a little slow, but give it a couple of weeks and should be fine. The greens on the white course are further out. Much slower, and needs more time. Both course has a lot of water, especially the Blue course. Sand bunkers has that common Arizona issue, since they have to over water so much, turns the bunkers into a mud pit. They need to work on this a little more. Beverage cart were there all the time, never had an issue with service and had a great time. read more

Wow. Not sure if it's an arcis thing or a Phil thing but the customer service here (golf shop only) is absolutely dreadful. First incident last week, my buddy and I spoke with the head pro and booked a tee time (buddy is a teaching pro and likes to talk to other teaching pros). We get to the course at 7am on a Saturday for our 8:01 booked time. 4 guys (not groups, solo people) in front of us to check in. 15 minutes later (not kidding. It was so bad the guy behind us was getting upset) we get to the counter (2 older men working) to be told we were never added to the sheet and they're full for the day. When we tried to explain the situation, the old man behind the counter literally got mad at us. Said his pro forgets things and that we should've booked online, never to call. This story continues but it's too much to type. Incident two. Just now. I go to book online (I have a tournament here in a week and want to play a practice round) and it's says "club 1, 2 and 3" not the actual course name so you have no clue which 9's you're booking. I call the shop. And guess who picks up. Ok, maybe he just had a bad day... F no. Same condescending tone, same stop bugging me attitude and same unhelpful ness. I asked which courses are what; his reply: haven't you ever played here before? Me: ya several times and have a tournament on the 14th. Your website doesn't list the names of the 9's and I want to make sure I'm playing the correct 18. He then proceeds to tell me how I go from one course to the next. Sir, no. I'm asking what are the names of club 1 2 and 3 online so I can book. He says "thought you played here you should know". This is 100% the last time I play here ever. I'll for get his name and post it here but avoid this pro shop at all possible. Shame too. Outside staff is awesome, restaurant folks are great. Course is fun as well. But it's pointless if your inside staff is rude. I'm a 1 handicap and will take my business to any of the other 48 million courses in Arizona. Hopefully this ass hat moves back to whatever snow land up north he came from and goes back into his hole, never to be in public again. read more

When we finished they wouldn't let me drive the cart to the car to unload! Had to walk across the parking lot in pain! Even told this young kid I was handicapped and he didn't care! We were here for day one of a two day work tournament. We had a blast, but obviously there is a bit of wear on the White Course at this time. It was to be reseeded the day after we left so the dry, hard course was to be expected...the lush green Gold Course was a nice contrast and allowed us to see what it's supposed to be like. This place is stunning...lush, green...lots of bird wildlife. I imagine they come for the water :) Customer service was awful. The beverage girl was down right rude and seemed like we were only getting in her way. One of the rangers...Jim I believe...was absolutely unprofessional in the way he treated several golfers in our group. Insisting on them dropping at the 150 yard marker to 'catch up' despite the fact that there was a team still putting! Rumor was already milling about how negative the personnel have gotten since ownership changed...it definitely shows. I loved the scenery and the challenge of the course, but honestly, when you have to deal with such troubled employees...it really puts a damper on the experience. Disappointed is the best word to describe this. Played on 3/7/21 and the greens were atrocious. Dead grass with mounds of sand all over them. I haven't played here in a few years but a guy in our group told us it's gone downhill since Phil Mickelson bought it from Troon. It's just very disappointing since I used to love this course and often talked it up for folks to check out. Has great views, nice clubhouse, friendly staff, but the greens keeper needs some SERIOUS help here. That was B-A-D BAD! If it's awful in March I have no idea how it'll be playable in the warmer months ‍ Won't be returning unless the greens fees reflect the course conditions. read more

My wife and I played Ocotillo as the finale to our 4 day golf weekend to celebrate out wedding anniversary. What a mistake. Every employee that we encountered were rude. When we pulled up to the bag drop and unloaded our bags, the two boys did not greet us or ask if they could assist us or anything. They acted like we were bothering them. We then proceeded to the pro shop and same thing. Nobody said welcome or can I help you or anything. We paid for our round and a small bag of range balls and he did not offer any further assistance. He didn't tell us where to get the range balls or where the range was. I had to go back inside and ask where to get range balls and even where to go for the first tee. By that time I am so frustrated that I didn't want to play and just ask for a refund. When we got to the first tee, the other couple was late putting us behind and at the sixth hole the Marshall told us that if we don't step it up we were going to have to skip a hole to catch up an we were 2 holes behind. The group behind us were not ever waiting on us. Rude Rude Rude!! We played 3 Arcis courses this weekend and this was the worst experience.
