Just a money grab. *UPDATED* Jeff below will try to tell you lies to make what occurred seem better to save face. There was only 3 tastings. Two par 3's had empty tables. Prizes were underwhelming at best. A bag tag looks like a child made at elementary school, a free round of golf in these conditions (couldn't pay me to play it again), and one of their own head covers. Utilize your vendors from golf brands. Other courses offering hundreds of dollars, clubs, etc for lesser tournament registration fees. You offer what seems to be after thoughts to be cheap. Every course waters more in the summer so it doesn't get fried but morning tee times see dew. Not standing water and soggy ground with every step. It was the most unprofessional tournaments I have ever seen. Absolute amateur hour. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE!!!!!!

We chose an…read more11:00 AM tee time, which was significantly cheaper than the early morning tee times because it's usually in the 100+ degrees by then. We're used to it and we bring lots of cooling towels. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The driving range was limited to irons only during our visit, not sure why. The course was in great shape for the most part and the pace of play was ideal. There was no one in front of us or behind us pretty much the entire time. Food from the restaurant was decent. They provided a small "cooler" which is more like a small lunch bag for the drinks. The golf carts don't have coolers, which isn't a deal breaker, but a bit inconvenient especially since the lunch bag they gave us leaked and there wasn't a good spot for it in the cart. Regardless, we had a nice experience. We played all 18 holes and are excited to play again in the future!

Unlike many of the reviews I've seen, my experience was quite the opposite, in the best way. The course was in excellent condition, with some of the best greens I've ever played on in Arizona. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the pace of play was just right. We were never rushed from behind or held up by the group in front. The beer was cold, the food was hot, and honestly, I have no complaints. It was an amazing time from start to finish.

It's a very nice course, I had to check this off my…read more"haven't play yet" list. Ironwood is well maintained. Fairways, greens, and tee boxes are in great condition. The course is only about 5,500 yards from the tips, so it is a short course. They do not have a driving range, they recommend you stop by there sister course at Oakwood to use the range before you head over. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. We really had a good time, even though the course is short. That doesn't mean it's not challenging.

We reach hole 8 in hour twenty minutes and a ranger approaches us and says what the problem there are two open holes in front of you. We tell him we went off about two holes behind and asked if we were on pace? Ranger replies he doesn't know our pace and just "play faster" and drives off. Either courses are fun tracks that challenge you in different ways. The Cattail is a super fun track that has a lot of potential for scoring good. Greens roll really true with good pace and everywhere around them has crisp perfectly manicured grass defining the fringe to apron back to fairways. I wish the bunkers (sand) was more fluff and softer but still very easy to manage out of them. The course conditions were absolutely nice and pretty much as perfect as you would expect for a course of this nature. Cart guys, pro shop staff, starter were all great and super helpful and very informative on anything g you needed or asked. Services throughout were great and the weather was perfect. The pace of play was very nice, never saw the group in front of us or behind us and finished a group 4 in 3 hours 58 minutes from the Golds(one) shy of the tips (black). I definitely want to come back here again rather soon. Great overall experience. It appears the LPGA will be here exactly the following week from today play as they were setting up all over the course. Even with cart path only on all holes, walking out to the ball was not difficult on any of the holes.

Hornacek's has a huge selection of golf gear, from clothes to clubs and bags. They even have an amazing clearance section in the back, which I love checking out after my lessons. I scored a pair of last season's G/FORE shoes for a fraction of the original price. The staff there are always super friendly and ready to help. It's definitely a go-to store for anything golf-related!

So that's the mindset, something beyond the driving range but not a great test of my endurance. And most of all make it affordable since I may not make the round due to my injury and/or the heat. Played here in May. A friendly greeting by the staff. There was ice in the coolers and cart service as we made our round. This and the on cart GPS made it a very manageable time in the heat. The greens were in decent shape with some burn spots developing. Fairways were in okay shape but there were a few bald areas even this early in the summer. Overall this is one of the better executive courses I've played in the area. But measuring as a golf course, sub par. So take that into account.
