We stayed at the Jackson Rancheria RV park and dined at The Lone Wolf for dinner; very convenient with the J.R. shuttle. The prime rib and the rib eye steak and the chopped salad were all great (5 stars). However, the chopped salad is just a garden salad. Beware that the menu on their website is more expansive than what is actually on the menu (3 stars). The server said the kitchen is short staffed and thus the smaller menu. The service was OK, but not great. Our server (Jennifer) was efficient, but not fully committed to great customer service (4 stars). Regarding the ambiance, the cigarette smoke filled air from the casino was the low point of our dining experience (1 star). There are two other restaurants within the casino. I feel The Lone Wolf is the only restaurant at J.R. that is worth coming back to. read more

Coming back down the back way from from Reno (vs 80)we decided to stop at Jackson Rancheria. So glad we did. What a great restaurant. We sat at the bar and had some great conversations with the two bartender. Great local wine made for them. The food was really darn good. Very unexpected almost to the point the wife and I were going to stay and hang out. But it was a Sunday and we said no, let get home. Will definitely stop again. read more

Went here for dinner last night. We sat in the bar are because it's best to make reservations if you go. Ordered a couple of drinks and food. We had the burger, bacon wrap shrimp and French onion soup. French onion soup was my favorite with lots of yummy cheese and great flavor. The bacon wrap shrimp was delicious too. I wasn't able to try the burger because I was full from eating everything else. But I did hear the burger was just as good it came with fries too. This is a very nice restaurant if you are looking for a steak house. The bar is pretty small but they do have TV's if you want to catch a sports game. If you are I. First off the service from the front desk until the end of the meal is above and beyond . Jennifer was pleasant and made us smile each time she arrived at our table to serve our food , drinks or just check all is ok. The place is great for families and couples as well , calm music playing and quiet atmosphere makes dinner so enjoyable. I had the bacon wrapped shrimp to start followed by chicken Marsala for main course with a couple luxury margaritas. I w been here a number of times and I've had the same thing each time but did try others meals that joined me for dinner. Again Jennifer made sure the steak had plenty of ibearnaise sauce as we preferred plenty and didn't have to ask for more it just showed up lol. I'll say it again, this food at the Lone Wolf is phenomenal. I do not understand the negative reviews. Our server, Kyleigh, was attentive and nice. Guy at the front desk greeted us and let us sit where we wanted. Comfortable booth. Six of our friends had a table. We were all staying at the RV Park. I had the rack of lamb which was cooked perfectly. The English pea lemon risotto was absolutely fantastic. Carrots cooked well. I REALLY enjoyed it. My wife had the 12oz prime rib which was melt in your mouth delicious. We both thought that they had made a mistake and gave her the 18 oz instead. One friend had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with gravy. He loved it. Said that the gravy was spot on. Another friend had the filet mignon and said that it was cooked perfectly. My first time here and I was pleasantly surprised! Nice restaurant with comfy seating. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated immediately. We arrived at opening so I'm guessing that is why the appetizer took so long and our food came directly after the appetizer. Other than that, the service went well. The Bacon wrapped shrimp was delicious! The Bacon&Artichoke Chicken was different. The deep-fried outer portion was overcooked, however the inside (artichoke&chicken) was decent. I typically don't do cooked carrots, however the carrots were seasoned to perfection with a sweet glaze on them and the risotto was perfect! On to the Tri-Tip meal: The Tri Tip was a bit overcooked as well and was very chewy, but the rest of the dish was tasty. The Raspberry Lemon Drop was very good. read more

Dined the day after thanksgiving at 6:00 PM. Ordered shrimp linguine with lemon sauce and the fish and chips. Both came out looking great. The service was great and the dining room was wonderful. Quiet and welcoming. Now the quality and taste. The pasta was just not quite done. The sauce and linguine were lukewarm and the shrimp was overdone and crunchy (they were not fried shrimp). The sauce was very good but served lukewarm. My Wife ordered the fish and chips. The fish was not seasoned prior to cooking. The crust was very good but the fish was tasteless. There was salt on the table but this does not replace seasoning before cooking. Malt vinegar might have helped but was not provided. I was torn between the pasta which I love and steak. The lone wolf is a steak house and should have went with the steak to see how it stacked up. This was our first time dining at the Lone Wolf, there might be a second to try the steak. Some would say. Why did I not address this at the restaurant. Well addressing the quality of food when we dine out ruins a good evening and I don't like to do that. I am not supper picky. I like simple dishes prepared well. I do not like food that is under/over cooked. I like my hot food hot and cold food cold. This is not nit picking, but basic food service. If the management reads this my review is to be informative regarding my visit, not being overly critical and would like it viewed as such. This restaurant is located in the back of the casino: walk through the casino then head to the right and there will be elevators in the back right - take the elevator up to the 2nd floor and the restaurant is that entire area when the elevator doors open! We make a reservation on Open Table in advance and got seated right away. They are only open for dinner. The menu is varied and plentiful! The favorite things we ordered were: - 10/10 Fresh Hearth Baked Bread with whipped sea salt butter & garlic herb dip = a bummer the bread ins't complementary ($7) but the taste was 10/10 - 10/10 Prime Rib = delicious and perfectly cooked with a side of baked potato and veggies - 10/10 Prawn Scampi Fettuccine: lemon wine pan sauce with house made lemon pepper pasta and spinach = delicious and very flavorful - 1/10 House Made Potato Gnocchi = my Dad is Italian and was very disappointed that this gnocchi was fried and served dry like a tater tot with zero sauce which was quite unlike the gnocchi he is used to - this was more tater tot than pasta but our wonderful waitress was nice and brought us sauce (that still didn't make it taste better) and finally just took it off our bill so we didn't have to pay for it That brings me to service: The service is outstanding! We started off the evening with drinks at the bar which was nice. We were then seated in a booth. The decor is borderline diner, not a nice steakhouse - so dressing nicer really didn't come into play. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the Autumn squash soup and a wedge salad to start with and share. The soup was amazing - creamy, hot and just enough spice. The wedge salad was a let down. Bland blue cheese dressing which makes or breaks this salad. For the main course, we shared the 18 oz prime rib, baked potato and substituted the mixed seasonal veggies for broccolini. We ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out medium and was on the tough side but the flavor was there. The potato had been sitting in the warming tray too long and was getting gummy, yellow and tasted off. Broccolini was yummy. We then ordered the caramel Apple cheesecake for dessert which was definitely the star of the meal. While we enjoyed the meal, we won't be back. We make a point to eat here annually when we camp in the Jackson Rancharia campground. This time we had another delicious dinner. The beef his wonderful and incredibly tender. Wine corkage fee is minimal. Our friends split the prime rib, for a slight fee. With the split fee you get full sides which allows each guest to choose different sides. We tried the special Mac n cheese, different than the regular menu Mac n cheese. Highly recommend this flavorful creamy dish! Full of flavor with sausage and peppers.. not spicy! Took 1-1/2 hours to get food. I ordered the tri-tip medium rare and it came out well done. Also had baked potato and grilled corn. Grilled corn never showed up. Until almost 15 minutes later. My wife ordered salmon with risotto. It normally comes with fingerling potatoes. 45 minutes after the waitress took our order she came back and said there was no risotto so she stuck with the fingerling potatoes. I'm pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it here. Hubby and I headed here for a late date night after a 16 hour shift and it was just what I needed. The live music was great. I believe his name was Rocky Rucker. It was totally a chill vibe and not what I expected at all. No dress code so that was nice, and though I made reservations we didn't need them. The prime rib had tons of flavor! And the bread and butter served while we waited was perfect. We didn't go crazy in apps and things because I knew that Prime rib was going to be too much. Prices were more decent than I expected and the Bluberry press I ordered was wonderful! I'm not much for sweet drinks and this was perfect and refreshing. Service was also great and they all just exceeded my expectations. Everything started out great with our server Carson! He was very friendly and told us all the specials in a clear and concise manner. We ordered some drinks and some appetizers and they were great and then we got to the entrées. The meatloaf was very good and a huge portion but the burger was so salty and overcooked as was the bun. The bun was burnt and soggy Carson offered to take the price off our tab for the burger, but never offered a replacement of anything. The red wine glasses that we ordered were over the hill even though they are local wineries and they were too warm to drink. All in all it wasn't our server's fault, the chef needs to adjust.
