We also were able to rent a part for our baby bike trailer (because we left ours at home...because sometimes Mommy gets overwhelmed while trying to pack...), and so the whole family was able to go. Friendly staff answered our questions about the bikes when we stopped in. Next day we came back to rent a couple fat tire e-bikes for 2 hours. Bikes were great, made it to the lighthouse on discovery trail and back, with a little time riding on the beach. No pedaling was required at all (I was suprised) although you can just use the electric as assistance for the big hills! Definitely recommend trying them if you're interested. read more

DO NOT BUY HERE! DO NOT RENT HERE! I was sold a used lemon of an e-bike, denied a refund, refused exchange, after an 11 day wait, refused repairs that were already promised in writing, and then threatened with physical harm to my bike, to find the wires cut and a sensor in a plastic bag that used to be attached to the bike. I was told that the repairs needed on my e bike were beyond their skills. If they don't have the skills to fix their own bikes, how safe do you think that rental is? Bikes are extremely poorly maintained. One kids bike I looked at had a loose grip on one side. Imagine that it slipped off suddenly -- dangerous. The three bikes we rented had poorly adjusted brakes with tons of slack, so you had to move the lever almost all the way to max to actually slow down. Tried to tighten them up but because the wheels were wobbly, the brake pads would start rubbing even when not applying the brakes. Our kid's bike didn't have a quick-release seat post clamp, which would be an obvious necessity in a rental situation. Back tire was worn through almost to the tube. First kid helmet had an unusable strap. I'm sure it was a replacement buckle that didn't work with that thickness of strap. Second try was uncomfortable, with folded-over strap rubbing my kids face. Kids bike got flat tire after two miles. I rode my bike while holding the bars of the other all the way back to the shop. I was curious if they would refund our fee, but... sure enough, they offered a free future rental. This conforms to their agreement, which says "no refunds, no guarantees on condition/operation of hikes". I really, really should have ditched that bike on the awesome Discovery Trail that we were riding on, and asked them to get their own lousy bike: I declined that free ride because, unlike the owners of this shop, I have a sense of morality. If this shop didn't have the business of trusting tourists, it wouldn't survive one month. The locals would never be loyal to these guys. All of these things (loose grip, flat tire (especially on front tire), poor brakes-- dangerous. But rather than pay attention to these things, they spent their time an attention on the liability waiver that I foolishly signed. I'm not a tough customer. I'll ride any old bike. But this place is just ridiculous, and I should speak up. read more

We visited as the owner was putting bikes together for the summer. Even though he wasn't open yet, he still rented my family the big quad cycle. We had a blast and rode the back roads to the ice cream shop. Thank you to the owner for helping us make some fun memories. read more

My 13 year old boy and his friend were near the boardwalk and some tourist kids stole their brand new longboards right in front of them. The staff from this shop heard of this and gave them both new boards. I'd give them and for that act of kindness! read more

Long beach bicycles is the best place in town to rent scooters. My family and I had so much fun we decided to do it again the next day. It was awesome until my daughter and I got hurt. It was our fault, not paying complete attention. I would rent from here again in a heartbeat. The man who owns Long Beach Bicycles is awesome. A lot of fun to talk to. He is one of the great parts of the rental. Really funny. read more

If you are going to rent a bike from these guys, you need to do a safety check. Have them check the air in the tires, check the seat, check the handle bars, check the brakes. Why? Because they don't. They have no quality control process. Renter be beware. read more

Rented two bikes for a full day from here, had them for about 2 hours when one of the rear tires went flat, not from me going over something or being irresponsible but from the sidewall of the tire having been dry rotted. Called them and they said there was nothing they could do but exchange it for another bike. Ended up deciding I just wanted to return the bikes and get charged for the time I'd had them, however they would not let me do this, they said "we don't do refunds, it's written everywhere". I would certainly not rent from this place again. read more
