She makes it easy to relax with big lazy boy chairs covered with clean colorful sheets. The space is clean and really feels like a refuge. I've been going here for the past year mainly to relieve my severe hot flashes. The treatments have definitely helped with the severity and lessened the daily bouts. The last couple of times I've been treated by Nirva and it's been a miracle. I was 40+weeks pregnant and my ob dr. wanted to schedule an induction. I wanted a natural birth with the least amount of interventions. I was referred to LBCA by my chiropractor to help with induction. They were extremely accommodating to get me an immediate appointment, they reviewed my history and showed a compassionate understanding of my wishes. I was able to completely unwind and relax for an hour each time which was much needed since my 19 month old son keeps me on the move. I went 2 times and the following day I gave birth naturally to my son! Before acupuncture I was not feeling contractions and I feel confident LBCA was the main cause for my labor progressing naturally. I'd never been to acupuncture before coming here, but Susan and Long Beach Community Acupuncture have totally sold me. I've always been interested, but never ventured down the acupuncture road mainly because I never felt I had enough of a pain issue to validate pricey treatments. When I developed a pinched nerve at 3 months pregnant, I started doing research and found this wonderful place! You cannot beat the price (sliding scale $15-40 per treatment) and Susan has the most calming and peaceful energy. Treatments are given in one large room (as opposed to private rooms) and communal sound is sometimes a factor, but the front desk now sells ear plugs if you find it bothersome. But in general most people are very respectful and conscientious that it's a "quiet space." read more

I have been coming here for 18 months to address health issues, sleep, anxiety, etc. I came twice a week for a few months then down to once a week. I would go more often if my schedule allowed it. I typically fall asleep within 5-10 mins after the needles are put in. It is amazing. The acupuncturists Susan and Nirva are so sweet and caring, along with the rest of the staff. It is very affordable, which allows many (including myself) to receive regular treatment when I wouldn't have been able to at the "standard" acupuncture price at other places. I have been seeing Susan and Nora since late February mainly for treatment of migraines. In the space of a month I went from 2-3 headaches a week to 1 every month or even 2 months! My sinuses and allergies play a large part in my migraines and those are vastly improved as well. I noticed less cramping when menstruating, and relief from occasional back soreness from work. They are truly wonderful, and I highly recommend LBCA to everyone, even those afraid of needles. I do NOT like having blood drawn or otherwise being poked and prodded and I actually look forward to treatments there. The feel of the energy buzzing through all the hair-thin needles is a truly amazing experience. They are compassionate and great at what they do. The rest of the staff are just as good. They are all giving and caring, willing to fit me in at a few moment's notice. I was made aware of Long Beach Community Acupuncture Clinic by simply walking by the location in downtown Long Beach. I was very surprised to find the location to be clean and welcoming. I scheduled my first visit and was very impressed with Susan Wiggins (the owner and accupuncturist). She was very attentive and listened to the areas that I needed addressed. After a consultation in her office, she took me into a community room with other people already in session. There was relaxation music in the background. The recliner chairs were very nice and comfortable. She was very careful to keep me comfortable and I had little to no discomfort with the needles. After about 30 minutes I left the community room and had a final conversation with her. Her service was very affordable and fair. I was very impressed and have gone back regularly.
