Long Beach Healthcare Center

I've been here over 7 months. I was in bad shape, I was hit by a car, while in a wheelchair. The staff has all had a hand in my recovery. Jackie, has helped me so much in so many ways. Shy is my go to person and has helped me. My CNA's with my personal care. The Administration in All departments... I appreciate you!!! Good job!!

I was admitted after a county hospital stay in January of 2024 waiting for both of my hips to be replaced. My experience was horrific, I pray that the recent good reviews are true, perhaps they have new management. I highly recommend anyone being placed there perform their due diligence and take a tour to ensure the changes are real. As for my experience...I was placed in a small room with 3 beds. The curtain touched my side mattress and the other side was too narrow to accommodate my wheelchair. One of my roommates had dementia and soiled herself so often that the smell never left the room. There was broken glass on the floor by my bed and I was told the brooms were locked up until Monday morning. My bed had no rails so I could not reposition myself independently nor could I enter my bed or sit myself up. There was a filthy Jack and Jill bathroom my room shared with three male patients in the adjacent room. The toilet was filthy, there were no bathroom wipes available, only the cheapest toilet paper that broke off square by square. The hallways were chock full of medical supplies and wheelchairs. The outdoor courtyard looked like a prison cellblock yard- no greenery or comfortable place to sit. I alerted the nurse when a weak patient started to standup from her wheelchair, who fell to the ground. She was whisked away as if to make me believe what I saw didn't happen. I left 36 hours after admission as none of the staff seemed concerned about my personal safety. I felt like I was living a nightmare the entire time I was there

This is a facility in transition with new ownership. My Mother is currently in the facility and I will post an update upon her release.

After…read morevisiting and experiencing several other skilled nursing facilities that left us disappointed, we knew right away this place was different. Entrusting the care of loved ones to someone else is never easy, but the staff consistently gave us confidence that my grandparents were in compassionate and capable hands. They treated them with dignity, kindness, and respect every step of the way, which meant more to our family than words can express. We're incredibly grateful to everyone on the team for the dedication, patience, and genuine care they showed. They made an incredibly difficult chapter of our lives a little easier, and we'll always remember that. If I ever need a skilled nursing facility many years from now, I can only hope it's somewhere like this--and if they have a bed waiting for me, I'd gladly return.

Facility is astoundingly clean and pleasant tobe in. Food seems to be better than most although sometimes a bit salty , to my taste. I was recently surprised though to learn that my husband could receive both the menu item AND an alternative so that he could have more protein. This was at his Dr's request. I wondered why this wasn't addressed by Atlantic staff when they became concerned about weight loss weeks ago. I applaud those who staff the nurses station - they always answers my questions and address concerns quickly. In addition , Social Services is amazing with their coordination of transports to my husband's appts. Particular staff I can personally call attention to....dont know all their names , but every CNA and RN I've seen attending to my husband has been caring and attentive .... especially the two I see so often - Yesenia and Luz. And a woman who has always greeted me smiling , offering her help as we'd pass in the hall - Irma Martinez. As well as a woman in the kitchen who , after I thanked her for her hard work, said t o me " thank you. I love my job. " Atlantic is blessed to have staff with such positive attitudes . I am relieved and grateful my husband landed here.

The facility often felt dirty, with rooms and common areas that didn't appear to be properly maintained. Many lights were out or not were not working. For a healthcare setting--especially an acute care center--this is extremely concerning. Even more troubling is the complete lack of urgency from the staff. When patients need help, responses are slow, and it often feels like concerns are brushed off rather than addressed quickly. In a place where people are recovering and sometimes in serious condition, timely care should be a top priority. Overall, the combination of poor cleanliness and a lack of attentiveness makes this facility feel unsafe and unprofessional. I would strongly encourage management to take these issues seriously and improve both sanitation and responsiveness to patient needs.

The people are very nice all of the staff, including the nursing staff the CNA's the people that run its social services even housecleaning . Also, I think the food is good. I've never been to such a facility before, but the food exceeds what I had assumed it would be. I'm 67- feeling stronger and healthier each day; i've been here one week, exactly on New Year's Eve I recommend to transfer here on a weekday instead of weekend when certain staff members aren't here

From the start, the staff were professional, kind, and attentive. They made her feel comfortable and well cared for throughout her stay. We're grateful for the support and care she's received and would definitely recommend this place to others seeking a compassionate rehab environment. Awesome MDS coordinator and staff! Thank you.
