Absolutely disturbed. I went for a friend's birthday to celebrate and the hotel hosted with a 3-Course dinner. The first dish was a salad and after already eating half my salad, an insect crawled out from the bottom of the plate. This was a complete buzz-kill, as I went to the restroom to vomit. Then upon return, they refilled my cup and found a dead ant in the water. You can't make this stuff up. Had a very nice visit here for a local event. Rooms are spacious and clean. Decent gym with treadmills, free weights, and machines. Could use a Concept2 rower, but still a nice gym. Indoor and outdoor pool, along with some nice water features. Excellent breakfast buffet each morning. Great way to start the day. Easy parking. Also, the front desk staff was so helpful with a late checkout that we had requested which really made our last day a lot easier. Greatly appreciated. read more

I paid for three nights through a third party I use all the time. Payment cleared my bank. Upon check-in the front desk charged me again for the three nights without my knowledge. It's 5 days later and they refuse to reimburse me. They say no one can help me except their "accounting". Accounting was out of the hotel/office Thursday, Friday and Monday. Marriott screwed me. I flew to visit and checked in at my hub. My flight was canceled for 2 days, I booked a Marriott room to stay after spending a night in the airport. Got to my destination 2 days late, no one in Marriott was very helpful. Accused me of not taking the trip. They charged me for the stay and parking. If I was never there how did I park there? This was a great place to stay before my cruise. I decided to stay here because they have an airport shuttle and the ability to ship things to the hotel and receive them without a fee. The shuttle drivers were great and helpful I had to go back and forth to the airport a few times due to my airline sending my luggage to another place. I was not at the location long only for the night. I did try the breakfast in the morning, I would skip that it was the only disappointment just not very good. Other than that the room was clean and well kept up all amenities I needed provided and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Being a platinum elite for life, I get the pleasure of experiencing many Marriott properties. I've stayed in this location several times, and I was delighted with all of the updates, in particular the rooms and new M lounge. The staff I always super friendly and accommodate any requests. The food is very good, and having a Starbucks inside the lobby is a huge plus. My only negative is that the property has become a cashless property accepting only credit cards. I was very disappointed with the lack of amenities Long Beach Marriott had at the time of my visit. Due to COVID, the concierge lounge was closed. There was no indication of this on the website, so I was planning on working in the lounge for the duration of my trip. It's part of the reason why I chose this Marriott over others in the area. In all the Marriott locations that I have been to during the pandemic, I was given a some sort of bonus as a result of the concierge lounge being closed. This is usually in the form of free breakfast at the hotel restaurant or room service, or points. None of these were given as options at Long Beach Marriott. When I walked up to my room after checking in, there was someone from maintenance in the room. It definitely scared me, as I was not expecting there to be a stranger in my room. The front desk should not have sent me to the room if he was still working in it. The rooms were very modern and clean. I called ahead and ordered breakfast each morning and picked it up at the Vista Bar downstairs. The food was pretty good, and the prices weren't too bad either for a hotel. The highlight of my trip was definitely Mai Mai. She worked at the Vista Bar and was there every time I picked up my food. She was very friendly and sociable, even though she was clearly busy. read more

I recently had a stay for business purposes which included reservation of one of the conference rooms. The front desk was not the nicest or very welcoming. We had multiple issues and questions regarding our conference room and the front desk was basically rude and told us they could not help us and to contact the conference room person. They did not offer to find this person or point us in the right direction. The conference room itself was okay. The temp controls were all over the place. The food was different than what we ordered. They gave us one internet code and charged us extra for extra codes. The team that was helping was great but not the best experience. My room I stayed in was good. Bed was comfy and temp was good. Shower pressure was nice and overall good. Would I be back? If I had to for business. read more

We enjoyed our stay at the LB Marriott because the location was closed to places we wanted to be. Staff was professional at all times.

Trying to enjoy a family get together with takeout and Marriott drinks on the quiet Marriott patio when Mr Hotel Hothead and Ms Silent Sidekick swing by to revel in putting the kabosh on our Friday evening dinner, them proclaiming no outside food allowed outside our rooms and demanding that we disburse. We decided instead to finish our meal on the patio. Infuriated, Hothead and Sidekick scurried to fetch the LBPD for backup. We continued eating and the baby stayed asleep. Sometime later a hotel manager came by to say no worries as he apologized for his subordinates inhospitable behavior. While appreciated, too little too late. Also, this is the place to go if your kids like their Shirley Temples made with soda water instead of 7-Up; that is, if you can get the bartender to put her phone down. Long Beach Airport Marriott? I spent $140 on parking. After my plane landed, I contacted the long beach Marriott shuttle phone number which was provided on the confirmation email. I waited more than 20 minutes for the shuttle to pick me up. The Southwest flight crew was waiting for the same shuttle and were in front of me. They only had one shuttle running, and the flight crew had priority because they were first in line first. My family and I ended up walking about 20 minutes to the Marriott to get our car. Once we arrived at the Marriott, there was nobody in the lobby and hotel was not busy at all. I won't use Long Beach Marriott again. read more

The facility was nice and the staff was friendly but they are very shorthanded. I'm guessing this is due to COVID and not being able to staff up. We got no maid service and it took a long time to get through to the service desk to order room service. After a long wait, I placed my order, only to receive a call back saying they were out of what I ordered. They were friendly enough and apologetic so I was not upset. I stayed at another facility where they had service problems and were rude on top. I think the existing staff really stepped up. Will try this location again to see if they improve once people are cut off of unemployment when they refuse to go back to work. read more

So, I was here for a quick visit to LA and only here for one night... THANK GOODNESS. If it was longer, I would have had to 1) swap rooms or 2) swap hotels. Let's start with positives: Location: Super conveniently located by Long Beach Airport with free shuttle service. Free self-parking is also another nice perk. Very conveniently located to city of Lakewood, lots of great restaurants, stores, businesses, etc. Amenities: didn't enjoy the pool, gym or bar, but saw them there and they seemed nice enough. Service: check-in was easy and seamless. However, later service was definitely sub-par..will comment more on that later. Room: Was given a double on the 4th Floor....And there was MUCH left to be desired. Let's first talk about the SMELL...upon entering the elevator and entering the hallway, it smelled like gas, as in gasoline?! Or exhaust?! WTH?! The room smelled a little better, more musty....and felt dirty. Felt the immediate need to bust out Clorox wipes. Rooms are dated and sad, not sure how often they're thoroughly cleaned. Definitely could use a refresh & remodel! C'mon, Marriott - this is LA! As a proud Starwood member, I was a bit embarrassed by this. I know you could do so much better! Lastly, I got back to my room late, exhausted and just craving a good nights sleep. I finally clean up, finishing bedtime routine, settle into bed and asleep just past midnight and am rudely and abruptly awoken by the piercing sound of the fire alarm at 1:15am! I look out the window, check the door for heat and open it - not a creature is stirring. It turns off and I call downstairs and it's a false alarm. Ugh...ok, back to bed. Not 5 minutes after I turn off all the lights and settle back into bed, it goes off AGAIN for another 5 min!! Please, please - tell me you guys figured this out?! I stay here a few times a year for work. The room are nice & the staff is friendly. I just wish they would except cash in the restaurants instead of card only. I like to pay cash when possible. Not a family friendly hotel. You are not allowed to eat outside meal by the pool and kids cant swim in the indoor pool. They can only swim in the outdoor pool where the water is not as heated as indoor (in November) Also i am a platinum member and i cant take my kids into the m club. The checkin lady (very short hair, almost shaved in the rear of her head), was very rude and unprofessional. This will be the longest post I have ever made. Horrible horrible. We arrived on a Thursday. At 1:48 received a text that our room was ready. On making the reservation (for four nights) I received confirmation that my requested high floor airport view room was guaranteed. On checking in they refused to allow my wife to do the check in saying that I had to do it. Ridiculous!!! The room we received was LOW floor looking at the parking lot AND the loud chain saw/jack hammer construction that was occurring and which is sSTiLL going on - this is now Monday morning!! I was just a bit angry but it gets worse!! I demanded another room so they give me high floor STIaLL looking at parking lot and construction!! I said "what about my guaranteed room?" The idiot at the desk said "we cannot guarantee the room type". I went ballistic. Throughout our stay I noticed many empty rooms in the vicinity of what I requested. When we brought the bags to the room, the door man insisted on pushing the cart. I told him FOUR times not to do it- I WILL do it. Finally got rid of him. The room Internet was supposed to give us free Internet for our devices but would do so only for one device! They wanted $10! To activate the others. To eat on first night we could not get any food because the large adjacent restaurant was closed as was the in-hotel cafe thing. We had to settle for little sandwiches at the bar. The room has low water pressure and still is. Oh, I'm listening together jack hammer now as I type. Do you think a decent hotel would recognize the inconvenience caused to people whose finAl bill will be around $2000? Do you think they would have at least offered to move us to our requested room. The TV did not work properly when we arrived. Had to have repairmen here TWIcE to get it fixed!! For our clothes, there was not enough closet space to hang clothes. There is a new Hampton inn up the road a bit where we will stay on future trips. We come here once/twice a year. No more to this. Crap place. Refrigerator is a joke: door parts fell apart when opened. There is more but am sick of this. Take warning and stay somewhere else. All this place has is location by there are others nearby. I'll try and post pics. Try To Add Construction pic. Btw: this is not our first time spent at this place. At least 5 other occasions were spent probably more. To the tune of about $2000 a pop. Definitely has the Marriott touch, although a little older. Was initially given a room that seemed like someone had forced the door open impacting the functionality of the safety lock. The front desk immediately moved my room when brought to their attention. I like that you need a keycard to access floors. I would say, Don't leave anything in your car. This was an amazing hotel to stay at! It was clean and fresh in every aspect. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast offered was out of this world delicious. We stayed at this hotel for a birthday trip. We got picked up my their complimentary shuttle. We had a baby and 4 suitcases. I thought maybe the shuttle driver would help us bring in the suitcases to the front desk but I was wrong. I didn't mind since COVID. Check in was fast and front desk was very friendly. The lobby was very clean and everyone was wearing their masks. Room was clean when we went in. The next morning I made myself a coffee in the room using their coffee maker. I put in coffee creamer that was provided and well that was rotten. The milk curdled in the cup. Front desk brought up new coffee creamer but at that point I didn't want a coffee. We had dinner at the Tamarindo restaurant in the hotel. Servers were friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered nachos and wings. I always have issues with nachos but these were made well. Enough cheese and guacamole for everyone. The pool was clean, but the water was cold! I thought it could use a bit of warming up. Housekeepers were always friendly to us and provided towels and what we needed. I would stay here again. read more

Do not get a room there !! There services are horrible, we went there in summer and we forgot our white leather backpack in the room, when we went to get it back they had written with a pen the room number directly on the bag !! The $60 in the front pocket was also missing. Today I had a reservation for clients and their plane got delayed 12h, the rooms as been paid and the hotel refused to pushed the reservation for the next night. Stayed here again for a 3 night stay for my daughter's graduation from CSULB for the close proximity. On the first night we noticed large orange stains on the one of the beds blanket and sheets and the staff was super quick to change them out. Kids really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools but adults were disappointed by the lack of a hot tub. Restaurant I have to say is still just ok and I love that they have a bar but the drinks we got at the bar were not good. The Starbucks in the lobby is convenient but the lack of a microwave in the guest rooms is not, would appreciate maybe a communal microwave in the lobby. This is my second time staying at this location and the staff has always been amazing and hospitable. However, today they went above and beyond that made my niece's birthday really special. I requested for a birthday greeting with my room service for breakfast but it couldn't be done since everything was packaged. The first room I was put in was handicapped accessible and the bathroom door was literally a 2 part folding door however it didn't have a doorknob on the inside so we couldn't actually shut the door. I would give them zero stars if I could! The day my parents moved, my Mom got sick. My Dad decided she couldn't travel so he got her a room here thinking it would be a nice room. We've all stayed there before and it was perfectly fine. This was the nastiest room I've ever stayed at! There's no microwave, okay that's fine... "can you heat this for her please, this is the ONLY thing she can eat???" I asked. "There are no provisions for the guests," we were told, even knowing our situation. There was BLOOD on the bed, hair EVERYWHERE (both beds, shower, and sink), black .... things.... all over both beds, a black stain on a comforter. Not only were the employees RUDE but they took off $38 for our "troubles". Really?!?!? How do you even come to a number like 38?? This was by far our WORST and most DISGUSTING stay anywhere and while my mother is sick. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE! I'll deffinantly be sharing this experience with all our military families as we travel A LOT! We had to leave this place and go to the Hilton where everyone has been AMAZING! P.S. Check in and out were easy. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The restaurant offered a Saturday all you can eat breakfast buffet that was surprisingly good because most buffets aren't. When we first got there to check in, it was about 9:30pm. The front desk person was taking very long not because it was any fault of hers. The 2 ladies in front of her who were guests at the hotel kept talking and asking way too many questions knowing that we were waiting. Once we got to the front desk, we were checked in within 5 minutes and headed to our roads. While we were waiting for the front desk, the other employees of the hotels were very friendly. The room was nice. It was clean and very spacious. Unfortunately, we were only staying overnight. The shuttle driver was very nice and very accommodating. MARRIOTT BONVOY PLATINUM ELITE REVIEW Overall I enjoy this hotel. I stayed about 4 nights over the past month. Thumbs up for cleanliness throughout the hotel. The breakfast is what brings me back, simply because so far it's the best buffet that I've tried so far in the area. The waffles are great, love the fresh omelettes and I'm big on hotels that have fresh assorted sliced fruit (not whole fruit) available. They have a larger brunch on Sunday's which I'll have to swing by and check out soon. The staff has been great, my husband's review will probably say otherwise. There's a lovely lady a breakfast, I'll have to grab her name next time and update but she's always so pleasant and takes nice care of us. I didn't like that the last time I checked in, the tv said no signal and now that I'm thinking about it, that was an issue before. When addressed, they offered to send an engineer to the room but they should have checked/taken care of that minor issue before checking me in. I personally don't want someone in my room while I'm enjoying my stay to fix a tv that doesn't belong to me. I decided to leave it alone and let my kid watch her tablet, we don't watch regular tv anyway which I'll add-a smart tv would have been a nice touch. These days I prefer staying in hotels with smart tv. The M lounge is closed, they offered a $10 credit for Starbucks and the restaurant or extra points to compensate. I like that there is a Starbucks on site (highly recommend the chocolate croissant). I've eaten at the Mexican restaurant on site, no complaints. My biggest issue here is that for a $200+ hotel it's unacceptable that they could only provide one robe for the entire stay and would not bring one for my husband. Order more inventory. At first I loved the unique scent of their toiletries with essential oils but it can be overbearing so if you're interested in something more mild, I recommend asking for an alternative. They have another brand that smells lovely like green tea. Also, the shower has a lovely hand held wand feature but it's not very user friendly and I ended up not using it. You have to pull the metal piece out and that's hard to do with soapy fingers. This hotel only offers a standard room type. I find this disappointing as a Platinum Elite, there was no option for a suite upgrade. On the TV Intro where it shows the amenities, it shows that there is a smoking area by the pool but there are no smoking signs out there. There's another smoking area in the front...last time I was there they were chopping at the trees above and it was honestly just loud and disturbing as a guest. A major pro for this hotel is that they offer free parking, most hotels in this area charge average $40 or so. Lastly, the laundry room is on the second floor. The room keys they give you are floor specific and not programmed automatically for the 2nd floor, this is not mentioned at check in. To wash, you have to go down to the front and have your key programmed, pretty inconvenient. I do love that it's card operated though. read more
