One of my favorite hotel. I pick it for my school's graduation venue. My staff and students liked it. My husband and I stayed overnight after the graduation. I was so tired and exhausted i lied down immediately . But to my surprise, the bed and pillows were too soft and not comfy. I suffered muscle cramps the whole night. Bed is not firm and comfortable. We paid over 270 for a quick one night stay. We have to check out at 7:00 a.m. After a 4 + hour drive we checked in. No one.....no one......no one at the desk told us there was no hot water! The halls on the fifth floor were filthy. I asked that the manager call us because we had to leave for an evening event at 5:00 p.m. without a shower because of the lack of hot water. No call and it is 9:30 p.m. We should have stayed at a dumpy motel. We probably would have been able to shower. Form your own opinion. read more

So I stayed here twice once in April and again in june both time I loved it. I attended conferences here. Each time I stay 2 nights 3 days. The staff is very polite and accommodating. The rooms were nice with easy to use air conditioners. They have two pools in door and out both seem clean. The indoor pools was a comfortable temperature I used it during both stays their gym is also good. The Male bartender at the lobby cafe is also very good there is an onsight mexican restaurant with good margaritas I dont care too much for their food. I ordered room service food via the hotel and it was of fair quality. And good portion. It is not good as leftovers.. The socket in my room didn't work and the staff sent an engineer to fix it without any difficulties. There was one day when the staff cleaned my room despite the do not disturb sign being present. And there was a horrible squeaking noise on the 2nd floor. I have no idea what it was but nonetheless I enjoyed my stay and became inspire to visit more marriot hotels Their shuttle service is also awesome read more

Very nice location, I stay at the Marriott often but this was my 1st time in Long Beach, I will say this now and I hope you read it LOUD and clear!!! Do NOT order room service!! It's 7/11 quality food at restaurant prices, and that isn't an exaggeration!! And the staff didn't really care, it was like another day another complaint, they must be use to having issues there, because it was no big deal to the front desk lady. The poor quality food, gave me food poisoning I was sick at 3am and I ate it at 10pm, I've been sick for 24 hours now! Horrible. But the location is nice but I expect better from Marriott. read more

I held an event here at this place and the customer service here was phenomenal. During the beginning of my event I was introduced by maybe 4-5 hotel management workers asking if I needed any help to just let them know. I was also introduced by custodial as well. Every worker there was very polite, talkative, and warming. I also ate at the food place/buffet they had near the lobby area and the food was fantastic. The servers were nice and fast serviced. I also ordered Starbucks near the bar and those workers were great as well. Overall I had a great experience. Also the event hall I held my class at was beautiful. Highly recommend this hotel. This was a huge inconvenience. We were on the second floor. Our view was of the Petsmart parking lot. The refrigerator was warm and had a button inside that said cold 2 hours. The fridge didn't get cold in the 2 hours we were there. Yes 2 hours! We tried to watch internet tv "netflix" forget unless it, unless you want to use your password or set up an account. There are only a few tv stations and the room is really small. The biggest issue was NO PHONE SERVICE NO WIFI. I could not message or call out on my cell phone. My kid couldn't use the tablet. When I called the desk, the lady suggested I come to the lobby to make my calls. She said because of the close proximity to the airport wifi is intermittent. I packed up and went to check out. I was told they could call someone to try and get wifi for me. I was already frustrated and just wanted to leave. The two stars are for the staff who were polite, and the room was clean. I won't ever stay there. This was a fail! read more

Stayed at Long Beach Marriott one night on a weekend. It's located right across the entrance into LB Airport. Parking is complimentary in their lot but it was pretty packed by the time we came back at night. The bar/lounge that's at the lobby level seems to attract a lot of patrons. I'm not sure if they're mostly hotel guests but the outdoor patio to the lounge seems like a popular place. It was loud when we left to get food later that evening and it was still loud when we came back. It might be an issue if your hotel room is directly above all the revelry. The hotel lobby is big. There are lots of places to sit and there are complimentary drinks in the sunken den type area that has LED screens and tables/couches for guests to enjoy. I noticed a cafe/restaurant there as well. Like I said, the lobby to this hotel is quite big... The front desk is immediately to your right when you walk in from the front entrance. Our room was on the 4th floor and supposedly had a "golf course view" but it wasnt high enough to really see the golf course and our main view was that of the overhang that covers the entrance of the hotel. It was fine... Our room was decent. I thought it was a little outdated as far as the furniture and room accessories went. The single chair & ottoman looked like it was from the early 80s. So was the desk and chair. The lampshades and frames on the wall looked to be of the same era, as well. My main issue had to do with the bed. It was squeaky. Simply rolling over or getting up from the bed made a lot of unwanted noise. They should really update their rooms. The bathroom was ok. The vanity is located outside the door to the bathtub/toilet/shower area. I liked that inside the bathroom itself, there was a big mirror and a shelf with cubby holes. That's where the extra bath towels and toilet paper were stored. I liked this feature and had not seen it at any Marriott property previously. Overall, our stay was just ok. The room needed to be updated IMO. The lobby looked great. The pool looks fun on warmer days. I think parking being complimentary was definitely a selling point for us. ps - we ordered room service for dessert and went with the carrot cake. it was delivered to us with not much of a wait but a NY cheesecake was delivered instead. We didn't lift up the covering until after the staff member had already left. We called and let them know. They sent us the correct dessert and took back the untouched cheesecake. My husband & I had to fork over 1,500 to hire a professional company to exterminate the bed bugs. They had to come out weekly for several months & take our bed apart each time!! OMG this is the worst thing that has ever happened to us!! I didn't sleep in my bed for 2 months. I had horrible nightmares that bugs were crawling all over me. I came for the Dice.com Technology/Engineer job fair. The hotel was clean and the staff did their part to make sure everything went smooth. There were water for us job seekers and one thing I noticed that the Marriott had a break/buffet for the employers (but not us job seekers). Pros: -Free parking in the parking lot. -Free Wifi but only in the lobby area. -I think there was a Starbucks in the lobby area too. -Nice pool area. (I looked through the window). Con: -I couldn't get free wifi in the Conference room. Note: There were a lot of people at the Dice job fair seeking for jobs. I am glad I am not the only unemployed there. Wish older people understand how hard it is to get the "career job" these days. Other notes: Would I stay here? Probably if I didn't live 15 minutes away. Beautiful hotel and great customer service by MOST employees (my fav was yuran i think THATS how you spell his name.) The rooms are newly remodeled and beautiful! The views from the 7th floor are perfect for sunrise and sunset.. beds feel like you are like sleeping on clouds. BUT BEWARE this is not really a family friendly hotel. Pilots and flight attendants stay here and get grumpy and complain at the slightest noise in THE AFTERNOON the clerks at the front desk as well as all employees show pilots favor so just keep that in mind when booking bc apparently here pilots come first however I would stay here again for a nice weekend get away with just me and my husband bc it really is a beautiful hotel with outstanding upgrades. read more

This is a ridiculously overpriced and rundown hotel. I paid $330 per night for a room with old and dirty carpet and a moldy shower knob. The window sheers are torn. How can they rent a room in this condition? There is no complimentary coffee in the lobby. Room service is limited to a select few menu items and nothing else. You can order from the restaurant but have to go downstairs to get it which defeats the point of room service. The WiFi kept kicking me off. The bottles of water from the lobby sundry station are 4 each which is high in my experience. I tried to eat at the restaurant on site one night but the music was so loud that I couldn't hear myself think. I left before ordering and went out. The one good thing is that you need a room key to work the elevator which promotes guest safety. Steer clear of this hotel as it is not up to Marriott standards! read more

Came for a funeral with my whole family and what turned out to be a good stay turned out horrible due to the fact the security (Indian guy with glasses) was racially profiling my family. We all paid for our rooms double 4 person per room. My cousin was harassed for just enjoying the hotel while having their over priced drinks. My parents were followed by this security the whole Sunday and felt harassed. Some family came unexpectedly to say good bye but as we were trying to resolve and explain to family the situation the security wants to follow me and my siblings around making everything more frustrating. After hearing management and security concerns about how many people are at the pool area. There is no where to be seen of the capacity for pool area outside because on the website it states otherwise and the email they send before arrival is that outdoor pool is full capacity and indoor pool is 50% but they told me only 3 can be in the indoor pool and 20% outdoor.Nothing made sense. We are upset of how rude the security was to my family to make us feel very uncomfortable. We spent money on food,drinks and rooms but NEVER AGAIN!! That security was a Jerk and manager shouldn't talk if website states otherwise. Don't book as a group or big family here. Stayed here one night while attending a football game in Carson. Not too far of an Uber ride. Upon arrival, I was impressed with the charm of the lobby. The lobby gave off the right amount of holiday charm (it's Christmas time). It was clean and well cared for but not fancy. They have lots of seating and phone charging areas. Grabbed a coffee from the lobby coffee shop which was fresh and convenient. Every staff member we came in contact was exceptional. We appreciated the complimentary water and the kindness shown when we arrived late to breakfast. They still sat us and fed us which is huge. So thank you! My husband and a friend were headed toLong Beach to help pick up a tv and some other items from another friend that is moving. The friend decided to book their hotel room for them at the Renaissance as they were driving from AZ and it would have to be an overnight trip. The guys decided to make a weekend of it so I went online and booked a SECOND night at the same hotel. I called the Marriott line several days before their trip to somehow notate that, even though they had two different reservation numbers, they would not have to re-check-in or change rooms. I was told they took care of notating. I then called the Marriott line again the night prior to their arrival and spoke with Alfie. He assured me the reservations were linked and the guys would have no problem. Fast forward to arrival. They were asked for payment. My husband mentioned that our friend (not present) booked the first night and that I, his spouse, booked and paid for the second night. They stated that the payment cards HAD to be present. Fine. No big deal. THEN they informed him the two reservations were NOT linked in any way and stated the guys would have to back downstairs the next morning to check BACK in. When my husband explained I had called and spoken with a Marriott employee to avoid all of this (TWICE), the hotel employee simply stated "we don't have anyone that works here that has that name". Now, they were provided a GC for use in the restaurant there for the inconvenience ($30), which is better than nothing. Interesting part was, even though my card was NOT present, they still charged me for the 2nd night I booked. However, they still refused to charge the booking card used to book the first night. Was headed to SoCal for a weekend road trip and Long Beach Marriott was the hotel picked to stay at. Parking is free and there is plenty of it. The lobby was bright and clean, and staff was friendly and helpful. Checking in was a breeze, the day before I received a text telling me I could check in already and just pick up my key when I got there (sign up for Marriot rewards and get these nice perks too) so that's what I did. So when I arrived just showed my id and was given my key for the room. The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable, one of the things I enjoyed was they have smart TVs in their rooms and it allows you to stream your shows via Hulu or Netflix (don't worry, it signs you out at check out or you can even sign yourself out before checking out), it just makes it a little bit like home if you have access to your shows, not that I went to SoCal to watch tv (though I did binge watch Season 1 of Handmaid's Tale on the downtime) but I thought it was cool. The bathroom was clean and nice, a tub with a shower, with the sink outside of the shower, which I kind of like, especially if your sharing the room, you don't have to wait to brush your teeth if someone is in the shower. My overall stay was great and wouldn't mind coming back! read more

WORST HOTEL SHOWER I EVER HAD. I am a frequent traveler and a platinum member of Marriott/Starwood. That's not a claim to fame--it's an attempt to be a legit-enough complainer to get the attention of the management and get something to change. So this hotel has great location, an OK bar, and beautiful design/style inside. There's a lot to like. But why do people stay in a hotel? Fundamentally for two things, when you get right down to it. You need a place to (1) sleep and (2) bathe. So if a hotel makes you about as uncomfortable as you have ever been outside of time spent in very underdeveloped parts of the world, or camping (no, I'm going to INCLUDE many of my camping trips), then that hotel has failed at the fundamentals. Failed. With an F. Needs to repeat that class, pay attention, and learn something next time. My two specific complaints about the shower: water volume and water temperature. I am happy that I'm not complaining about the water chemistry. It was, apparently, at least water that was sparsely and very tepidly coming out of the shower head. How sparse? I'm a guy who keeps getting not as young as I used to be. My hair is still there, but not as thick as it used to be. I'm worried. But I have way too much hair to be able to rinse free of shampoo in this shower in any reasonable amount of time. Imagine a person with any real hair volume. How tepid? I was shivering the entire time I was in the shower. Even though the temperature control was turned all the way to max heat. It was the lowest-temperature version of hot water I've ever experienced in a place that would claim to have heated water. (Mind you, this wasn't a prime-time, everybody-is-showering-at-once scenario that could bear the blame for either the temperature or the pressure. My [attempted] shower took place a little after midnight.) Now, Mr/Ms Manager, don't EVEN bother to go there about the drought. I have traveled all through drought country and have seen how lots of hotels, including other Marriott/Starwood properties do it. You are not allowed to play that card with anyone who has ever been to any other hotel in SoCal, so don't. While I would welcome a reply, I would much rather see a change. So, like dating someone who looks nice and is mean to everyone, or eating at a restaurant with good ambiance but terrible food and service, some hotel fails are deal killers. You simply should not stay at this hotel, because it fails at one of the absolute fundamentals. Stay away until you see clear evidence that their showers have become rave-worthy, or unless you're one of those who doesn't bathe. Then this is your place. Maybe this hotel could angle for the niche market of non-bathers (you know who you are). But then I'd have to warn people to not even stop in for a quick drink at the bar. Yikes. read more

The Sunday Brunch is way too pricey for what they offer. Not to much food selection. They had an omelette station, chow mein station, and even a bloody mary station, but no waffles and pancakes! Really? The pianist sang so loud, we couldn't hear each other talk. We had to move tables because we wanted to have conversations and when brought to the pianist's attention, he shrugged his shoulders and continued playing the same. The service was terrible. There were no servers in sight. We had to get up ourselves and get the bottle of champagne to serve ourselves. I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel! I was there for a work meeting and when got in my room after the meeting, it smelled fresh and clean - not like cleaning chemicals, but genuinely clean. I ordered room service because I felt too tired to go anywhere. I ordered one of the bowls and I was disappointed. It was a pre-cooked meal that was warmed up. I did not enjoy that. But the cheesecake was AMAZING and I also had some wine. Everything was perfect. Bathroom and shower were clean and all the essentials were filled up and ready. It was surprisingly quiet, especially with the airport across the street. I slept well and if that bed would have fit in my purse.......The only thing - they charged me twice for the night. But it was also automatically fixed. So if that happens to you - do not panic, they got this :) I would recommend this Marriott very highly. Just go to the restaurant for some food. The staff here, every darn one of 'em, are top notch. I cannot complain about the level of service or friendliness of anyone I encountered. The rooms in the hotel appear to be partially remodeled, but there were a couple of older pieces of furniture in my room including a desk chair that leaned uncomfortably to the right. Considering that when I travel for business, I typically spend any waking time in the hotel room at the desk working, that was more than a minor inconvenience. Also, the electrical outlets in the room are in really stupid places. Why would anyone put the only outlet anywhere near the desk behind said desk so the guest has to move the heavy marble top desk in order to plug in a computer, phone, etc? Seems a bit odd and unnecessarily inconvenient. My other beef with the hotel is the noise level. It's not that the guests were loud, but the walls are paper thin, so all noise in halls or nearby rooms is heard. Also, the plumbing seems to be an issue. At 5:00 a.m., someone on the floor was clearly taking a shower as the pipes were making a lot of noise and there was a loud hissing noise that came from where the shower in my room was. This noise was loud enough to wake me up. I put in a 13 hour workday that day and really could have used more sleep. Also, I was downgraded from a King room again. Not sure why Marriotts seem to downgrade me so often, but it's fairly frustrating when it happens. Overall, the appearance of my room and the hotel was good. The room was mostly clean aside from the shower. There was soap scum on the tile and a dead bug in the shower. Housekeeping also did not clean the shower after my first night. Makes me wonder how well they ever clean the bathrooms in the rooms.The pool area is very pretty and seems to be a lovely place for ducks to gather. read more

They did a beautiful job renovating this Marriott. I wasn't particularly looking forward to my stay here because I'm generally not impressed with standard Marriott's. I prefer the Ritz, JW, or Renaissance for their modern, more lavish amenities. The rooms in most Marriott hotels are just not very inspiring. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed when I walked into the lobby. The renovations were absolutely fabulous. Loved the modern contemporary lobby, lounge, and bar area. Loved the open feel of the bar as it flowed ever so graciously into the lounge area, which transitioned ever so delicately into the outside pool area. The pool area draws you in from the panorama like window settings placed throughout the lobby lounge. An almost resort like setting, the pool and lazy river are tastefully accompanied by modern lounge chairs, and tables with umbrellas. Love the terrace cafe which offers dining al fresco in the event you'd like to take a break from sun bathing. My room was modern with all the standard amenities. I did enjoy the bathroom layout; plenty of space to spread out all your goodies. There are even two additional outlets in the restroom for your blow dryer, flat iron, etc; Four outlets total in the bathroom area. Winning! Overall, rooms here are still typical of the standard Marriott hotel. No real major difference in that regard. Sadly, I cannot speak to the quality of service at all. I'm an Elite member, and I spend LOTS of dinero staying in Marriott hotels across the country. Yet, they do not seem to value their Elite members here. No welcome, no upgrade, (all rooms are the same?) no offer to have the standard complimentary breakfast or invitation to use the concierge lounge, no offer for points or breakfast...just here's you're key and the elevators will be to your right. Thanks Marriott Long Beach. The new renovation is beautiful, but might I suggest you at least acknowledge your Elite guests! We are Elite because are loyal to the Marriott brand. Long Beach Marriott is located at Airport Plaza Drive in Long Beach. Long Beach Airport is so close, it almost looks like they share the property with the run way! Upon entry, the lobby is tastefully decorated with tranquil colors. They still had the Christmas decorations, and trees up for a festive atmosphere. Huge glass chandelier anchors the lobby. Being part of the Marriott rewards program, we were here for the New Year's Eve party celebration. I got a great deal..and points for the event. The event was A Swinging Rocking New Year's Ball. I usually make my reservations online, but last minute plans-and a reservation specialist assisted me. The property has an indoor and outdoor pool, along with a gym. Nice that they cater to work place traveler, along with locals who want to have a small get-away. I was really impressed with the size and cleanliness of the rooms. Staff was superb, and quick to accommodate request. I was really impressed that I scored a room with a view of the LB Airport run way, and woke up to see a Jet Blue plane landing. As usual, Marriott offers a fabulous hotel and I really enjoyed my stay here. The lobby is gorgeous, the staff is very welcoming, the pool is fabulous, there's 2 restaurants in addition to a bar/bistro, the gym is great and the rooms are comfortable. I travel a lot and usually sleep, shower, use the gym and move onto the next day and hotel. It was very nice to actually sit back and enjoy this hotel. I really enjoyed laying by the pool for a few hours and eating in 1 of their restaurants. They also have a nice concierge lounge with great staff, good bites, a TV and plenty of seating areas. Marriott does a very good job of accommodating business travelers even with their courtyard and other brands. Great internet, lots of parking, coffee on site, desks in the rooms and an even quicker check in and out with their mobile app. Highly recommend this hotel, I will hopefully be back! read more

If you're taking a group, Be careful !!!!! The group manager Hector Martinez sent me a tricky contract first. After all the changes, we agreed to have a breakfast voucher for our group. Marriott Left 33 Kids and 25 adults without the vouchers. THE GENERAL MANAGER WAS THERE AND AVOID US FOR THE ENTIRE TIME. read more
